La Gourmandise Cafe

Rating: 4.7 (138) Price Level:

I have been a customer at La Gourmandise for about three years. For me, it is objectively one of the best places to have a good breakfast or lunch. The food is excellent and fresh (preference for eggs royal and for the chocolate fondant). The environment is comfortable and cosy and the staff is always very friendly and polite.

Exceptional cake and breakfast options. Its halal. (verbally confirmed) Really liked every breakfast option on the menu. I'd recommend going here for a casual breakfast and getting a dessert or bread after.

What a delightful lunch!! The kind of meal that makes you feel healthy and invigorated after eating it. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the coffee is lovely. I would definitely recommend trying some of their sweet treats, they’re so beautiful to look at and even better to taste! A local gem.

I popped into La Gourmandise Cafe on Boxing Day as it was one of the very few patisseries open during the Christmas holiday. And what a treat. I managed to pick up some fresh pastries and everyone coming by was in good holiday spirits. It actually felt quite special and certainly made for a nice start to the day.

Family owned since 1988? You can tell, as they are so rightly proud of this well run cafe. Clean and plentiful seating (40+ seats), with clean toilet for patrons. Wide-ranging menu. Ordered the ‘set 4’ breakfast, and which was served piping hot and was absolutely delicious! Had more breakfasts that I can count at cafes and this was one of the best. Staff welcoming and friendly and engage in conversation readily. Will be sure to visit again next time I’m in North Finchley.

If I could give 10 stars, I would. Came expecting a breakfast and got a fresh, nutritious, wholly fulfilling feast! I ordered the Mediterranean Breakfast and I cannot describe how happy it made me. The variety, the presentation, the flavours! Such incredible value for money. Lovely service and some great throwback tunes to groove to as you enjoy a nourishing masterpiece. 10/10 would visit every day. Edit: they just brought us complimentary croissants with nutella! Best dining experience ever.

I recently had scrambled eggs at The Coffee Place and Breakfast, and they were absolutely fantastic! The eggs were cooked to perfection—light, fluffy, and full of flavor. You can really taste the freshness of the ingredients. The seasoning was spot on, enhancing the natural taste without being overpowering. The portion size was generous, and they paired well with the fresh toast. This is easily one of the best scrambled egg dishes I’ve had in a long time. I’ll definitely be returning for more and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great breakfast!

While walking down Ballards Lane, we were pleasantly surprised to discover Mega Organix, an organic supermarket with a cozy sitting area. We decided to try their coffee and a croissant, and I was amazed by the croissant’s freshness and quality – it felt like it was served in a café in Paris. The supermarket has a calm, welcoming vibe, and the staff are warm and friendly, making the experience even better. Whether you’re shopping for organic goods or just looking for a quiet spot to enjoy a snack, Mega Organix is definitely worth a visit!

Bespoke Café

P: 020 4538 6911

Rating: 4.7 (99) Price Level:

A lovely little boutique coffee shop, also had an expansive food menu. Was offered a frappe which wasn’t on the menu, and went with it and it tastes absolutely lovely. My partner got some boba ice tea which was also great. There’s nice seating outside, perfect in the summer heat, and inside was decorated nicely too. We were both very glad we stopped here for a midday drink break. The items on the menu are also very reasonably priced

See it to believe it. This place will make you feel good, its just a place were you can seat and be yourself. The staff really knows what they are doing. Its like they understand the customers so well. The energy of this place just matches the vibration of your energy. Its in fact something amazing. In such a busy city like London... we need places like this where we can just run to and rest for a while, putting our thoughts together, wether taking notes or sketching or just doing nothing really. Thank you Bespoke Cafe.

Great cafe and working space. I had a large latte with almond milk and it was delicious. I have also had the avocado, halloumi and poached egg toast. As you can see my egg was perfect. I will definitely keep coming back, however, Saturday afternoon is really busy just keep that in mind 😉. They also do take away 🤗🤗

As someone who loves discovering new coffee spots, I was eager to try this place. First impressions were promising—the ambiance is nice, and it has great potential. However, my experience was overshadowed by hygiene issues. While the food was decent, the unclean cutlery and plates were off-putting. It’s hard to enjoy a meal when cleanliness isn’t a priority, and unfortunately, I couldn’t finish mine. This place could be a gem if they address these hygiene concerns and tighten up on management.

Decent cafe food, but not something I’d rave about. My mozzarella, tomato and pesto panini was slightly bland, so I wouldn’t order that again. It was quite busy on a Saturday afternoon, but we managed to get a table. Unfortunately, it was by the door, so every time it opened, we got blasted with chilly air.

Holybella is always a win/win. Brunch - Yummy! Lunch - Yummy! Smoothies - Yummy! Hot cup of mint tea - Yummy! This is our go-to treat for brunches. Even the most simple on their menu 'Baps' is a treat.
