We booked Derbyshire Wedding Events for our wedding in September. We had Carlo as our photographer for the day. He is such a down to earth person and interacted very well we the bridal party as we were getting ready and also the groom and the guests. We had lots of fun with him taking random photos that you wouldn't even think of! We were laughing all day with him. We really couldn't have asked for a better photographer, we've had the photos back already after only 6 weeks, they are beautiful we are very impressed. His communication throughout put us at ease too, lots of my guests commented on how good he was and I must say very good value for money too. Will highly recommend! We had Carlo and his wife do our wedding day, we had photos and video of the whole day. They got every little detail and I’m so happy I picked this package with them. I can’t thank them both enough we have such amazing photos and watching the video is like reliving the day again! We also had the pre wedding photoshoot which was also amazing and we even used one of the photos for our newspapers for the big day! My husband and I got married in August at Wildhive in Derbyshire. Village Green Events helped style the wedding and Laura, who was our contact, was amazing to work with! Our daughter got married in June 2024 and we were very fortunate to have been recommended Jess by Kate from our marquee company (Special Event Tipis and Marquees). We had got quite far along the DIY planning route when I realised as MOB that I wanted to be able to enjoy the wedding day and the build up to it without being overwhelmed with everything. My husband was quite sceptical at first about why we needed a coordinator as we had everything booked. This was mainly because he hadn't quite grasped what was involved, but after meeting Jess he was onboard 110% and he, like the rest of us, thinks she is fantastic and money well spent. We engaged Jess for her 'on the day management' but this is truly much, much more than just 'on the day' management and is an absolute MUST if you are having a marquee wedding. She is an experienced professional who has a very calm approach to everything. She stepped in 6 weeks before the wedding and from then on we knew we were in safe hands. She gave us much needed advice on a whole host of things and made everything run smoothly. She expertly coordinated with all our suppliers - of which there were many and all of whom were brilliant! She and her team (hello & thank you to the other Jesses) came the day before the wedding and set up the marquee. We went along to give a hand, but she had everything covered. She even had a kettle & made us all a cuppa! They came to the church rehearsal and then went back to the marquee to continue with the set up which enabled me able to spend time with my daughter and our family and friends, stress free, the night before the wedding, which is something which I would not have been able to do without her being onboard. Unfortunately, the weather on the day wasn't great . After glorious sunshine the day before, in true Lake District style, it rained on the day. We were so confident and comfortable with Jess's advice that we trusted her to her to make the last minute decision if the drinks reception would be inside or outside. She, together with Fran from Holker Hall, managed this beautifully and our guests have said that they were quite pleased it rained as it enabled them to have a look around the beautiful Holker Hall. Jess and her team were very professional and at the same time warm and friendly and it genuinely comes across how much they love their work. We had the most fantastic & fun wedding party and all our guests have said that this was the best wedding they have ever been to. I do believe we had the dream team of suppliers. As a very indecisive and unorganised couple, we needed help so put our trust in Jess. Choosing Jess as our wedding planner was the best decision we ever made and enabled us to have the wedding of our dreams! Jess is so professional, organised and knowledgeable in every single department and we are so glad we hired Jess so early on in the planning. If you're wondering "do I really need a wedding planner?" the answer is no - you don't need just a wedding planner, YOU NEED JESS! The easiest ever 5 stars. Jess was phenomenal - you will not find a safer pair of hands for the biggest day of your life! BEFORE WEDDING DAY We thought we could do it all but we were so SO wrong. 16mths before our big day we realised that wedding planning is someone's profession for a REASON & opted to find an 'on the day' planner since most of our vendors were already booked. My biggest regret is not getting Jess on board from the outset! We spoke with a number of wedding planners & at the end of back-to-back initial meetings, we didn't even need to discuss who the best fit was - it was obviously Jess. Jess was, of course, kind & congratulatory & immediately easy to get on with, but she was also focused & able to demonstrate her ability to deliver our dream day from the very first moments of meeting her. We knew that she would have everything in hand! Jess was our go to whenever we had a wobble or a question or needed to soundboard something. Nothing was too much & she always responded quickly & with results! She put us at ease every step of the way. The thing with wedding planning is that you don't know what you don't know, & that is where Jess is essential. She won't just people please - she'll give you honest advice/opinions to ensure your day runs smoothly & in line with your vision, & she will quickly identify any issues or gaps & will have solutions before you can even ask! ON THE DAY Knowing Jess was going to be there put us at ease in the lead up. On the day we both said that booking Jess was the best decision we made on MULTIPLE occasions! Nothing was an issue, she had everything under control, & had solutions to any issues without us even knowing there'd been an issue. There was literally not one thing we had to worry about on the day. Ultimately, Jess was both a friendly face on the day putting us at ease & also the most proficient organiser I've ever seen. She took command, made sure everything/everyone was where they needed to be, & did so in the kindest & most professional way without so much as breaking a sweat. She makes EVERYTHING look effortless! By the end of the day, we were devastated that she was leaving after having delivered our dream wedding day which, due to her sheer effort & skill, far exceeded our expectations & frankly blew us out the water. TIPS 1 - Don't book any old wedding planner, BOOK JESS! And do it sooner than later - don't be me, you can't do it all! 2 - If you're having a multi-day wedding, particularly with a pre-party, book Jess! We didn't & when it came to bite me in the backside she was there at the drop of a hat & sorted EVERYTHING out. Massive regret not just booking her from the outset! 3 - Communicate! Jess is incredible but she's not a mind reader, & she got to know us so well so that she could deliver the exact right aesthetic & atmosphere on the day. 4 - Trust Jess implicitly. There is a reason this is her profession. She delivers flawless weddings week in, week out. If you hand over the reins, you will NOT be disappointed! OVERALL Jess is one of the most organised people you will ever meet & you'll rarely have a question that she hasn't already thought of & answered - she goes above & beyond! She is also so incredibly kind & we like to think over the past couple of years has become a real friend, something we are so grateful for. Our day was flawless & it was entirely down to Jess. Booking Jessica Sharpe Weddings was one of our best decisions & if you are lucky enough to book her I know it will be yours too! TO JESS There are no words to actually express our gratitude. My husband and I got married in July 2024, and utilised Jess’ on the day wedding coordination package - but what her and her team give you is so so much more than that! We booked a venue which required lots of different suppliers (separate caterer, bar company, linen hire, port-a-loos etc….) and in the run up to it I said to my husband that I really wanted someone I could hand everything over to in advance so I could enjoy the run up and not be worrying about coordinating everything! Luckily, I’d met Jess at an event before we were even engaged and so she was the first person I went to for this help. And I am SO glad we did! She goes above and beyond for you to make sure your day is special and runs smoothly. I’ll never forget that I’d planned to tie the tags onto our favours the night before the wedding with my bridesmaids, only to turn up and for them to have already been done by Jess and her team without even needing to have asked. We had drinks “tokens” to hand out to our evening guests and I went to ask Jess for these in the evening to hand them out, again to find that they’d taken care of it already. They were one step ahead always on the little details, and knowing there was someone we could go to on the day if needed (rather than people coming to me or the wedding party) was truly invaluable. After our wedding I asked my partner what’s the one “non negotiable” you’d recommend to other couples planning a wedding like ours and we both agreed that it would be Jess and her team. I know my sister is also recommending her to friends who are getting married soon too as she was equally impressed by her! My husband and I were so pleased with how Sam styled the venue for our wedding ceremony and evening reception. From the day I contacted her to discuss about ideas that I had prior to the wedding, she was so helpful, patient and professional. We hired Tor to help with our wedding in July and really cannot thank or recommend her enough. Our wedding was held at our family farm, and whilst this seemed like a great idea, we also had so many possibilities of things going wrong on the day. As soon as we had Tor’s input into the wedding, she gave us every bit of confidence that the day would run as beautifully as it did. From the week leading up to the wedding, all of our suppliers couldn’t believe how relaxed I was and this was definitely thanks to Tor. Tor was there at all hours to answer any questions, help me make decisions, and make suggestions that I definitely wouldn’t have thought of (without being annoying ha!). On the day of the wedding I was able to have such a lovely morning with the bridal party, and throughout the day knew everything was being taken care of which resulted in being able to actually enjoy our wedding day without any stress (which a lot of couples don’t get to do). Tor is such a lovely person and so easy to get on with, even if it wasn’t wedding chat we would still have a laugh.. we had so many comments from guests about how incredible our wedding was, how smooth the day went, and how fab Tor was behind the scenes. We have said from the start, hiring Tor was the best decision we made…we are also convinced she could plan a wedding on Mount Everest and it run smoothly. We hired Victoria for on the day coordination for our wedding, and it was one of the best decisions we made during the whole planning process. She's detail oriented, passionate, and amazing to work with. No task is too big or small for Victoria, and the entire wedding ran so smoothly thanks to her help! From our very first meeting we knew that Tor was the person to plan our wedding with us. She had the best personality, was easy to get on with and she was obviously very knowledgeable in her field which filled us both with confidence. Myself and Dave are very busy people, and got especially busy as we were planning our wedding. Tor was there day and night, no matter what time I messaged her with a query or idea she was on the ball so fast. Tor also recommended the best suppliers. One of them being Gemma from Rock and Wreath, our flowers were absolutely unreal and I felt confident giving Gemma complete freedom and creative license with her designs. I had an idea of maybe having a live sketch artist but after searching and searching I couldn’t find the right person. Tor absolutely pulled it out the bag and found the amazing little Beth Illustrations. We would have never had such special wedding favors if it wasn’t for Tor finding Beth. Tor also found the beautiful Bethan Steers for my hair, and the amazing Beth Kennet for our wedding videography! These two women were an absolute joy of energy to have around on the day, but every single person involved was. So I’m so grateful to Tor for finding all of these wonderful suppliers because they were truly out of this world, every single one of them. On the day of the wedding Tor was never not by my side, anything I needed she was there 100 percent and really had my back no matter how big or small, from making sure I had coffee when I was tired, to emergency steaming my wedding dress. We hired Victoria for the wedding day management for our wedding, and I can't say enough positive words. Even from the start during our intro call, to coordinating with vendors, to the final day wedding celebration, she exceeded our expectations. We booked Make It Special Events for our wedding last August. I’d shopped around for a venue dresser and Make It Special were competitive and recommended by our wedding venue, Mythe Barn. I’m reviewing Instagram it was clear that they were regularly at the venue and knew how to create a beautiful setting. I’m quite a detailed person and had a very specific idea of exactly what I wanted - however after time working with Jo and Wendy on the proposal I had so much trust in their creative vision and eye for detail that I was open to their ideas and suggestions. Prior to the wedding day itself they created a mock-up of the table setting at their site in Atherstone. This was so useful as it gave me the opportunity to see in advance exactly how things would look and make changes. I know I’m biased but what they did on the day I believe to be one of the most beautiful settings I’ve seen at Mythe Barn. It was so classy and elegant and exactly what I’d wanted, if not better! Jo and Wendy are an absolute dream to work with - they are so hard working and have amazing creativity and attention to detail. I cannot recommend them highly enough - book them, you won’t regret it!

Bespoke Weddings have really helped us out, our wedding would have never have happened so soon without them and the competition. From the initial meeting with Maria she has been very supportive with our situation and helpful with us going ahead with the wedding in 6 months time which is very encouraging. We've never felt any pressure to go ahead with the competition or other options given but it's nice they support local companies. I would recommend anyone to apply to the competitions as it could save you a huge amount and get you married sooner than you ever expected and change your life!

I was absolutely floored when I got the call that we had won the first part of the contest! Honestly, it's made having a wedding much more feasible for myself and my partner. Where do I even start with this incredible human?! Amanda is the kindest, most creative and inspirational wedding planner, stylist and coordinator. We were lucky enough to have Amanda involved in every aspect of our wedding and we are so thankful for her guidance and support. From our first initial emails, consultation meeting, final meetings and numerous messages (from me!), Amanda was nothing but helpful and supportive. On the day, it was a joy to have Amanda join my bridal prep in the morning, brining a sense of calm, style and humour. She ensured everything was on track and ensured that I was happy and prepared for when we moved to the venue. During the day, we had countless compliments about Amanda's efficiency and how friendly she was. Everything ran like clockwork, with no issues, and I am certain this was due to Superwoman Amanda. She also helped us to achieve the perfect champagne spray photo! The styling... Words fail me. Amanda took our ideas and colours and made it so much more. During our final design meeting, Amanda made detailed notes and offered suggestions for how to syle our venue. We were so confident in her abilities, we encouraged Amanda to do what she does best, and she did! Amanda created the classiest, cosiest, most elegant autumn vibes you could ever imagine. Our photographer, who had worked at the venue numerous other times, said it was the most beautiful she had ever seen it. I truly cannot recommend Amanda enough. She has a heart of gold and I feel so privaledge to have worked with such a creative and inspiring person. We recently got married at Old Gore Barn in the cotswolds, and Amanda, our wedding stylist, was an absolute dream! I honestly can’t recommend her more if you are looking for a wedding stylist. She was always available, promptly assisting us with any questions or concerns we had.
