Hanbury Barns was the perfect venue for our wedding day. The setting is stunning, and the team went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. Jordanna, our event organiser, was exceptional—her attention to detail and calm, professional approach made the entire day stress-free. The suppliers who regularly work at Hanbury were fantastic and clearly knew the venue inside out, which made everything flow effortlessly. We couldn’t have asked for a better location or team to bring our special day to life. Highly recommend Hanbury Barns to anyone looking for an incredible wedding venue!

We got married here in March 2023 and had the most amazing day. The venue is stunning - private, very safe (for children), beautifully set up. All members of staff were absolutely great and bent over backwards to make everything as easy as possible, in both the build-up to the day and on the actual wedding day. Everything went as planned, the venue looked exactly how we wanted it to and all our guests continuously commented on how beautiful the venue was. Vicki was our wedding coordinator and she is amazing at what she does. Nothing was too much and we will really miss messaging her! Communication throughout the build-up was fantastic, emails and WhatsApp messages were responded to incredibly quickly, getting an appointment to visit for measuring up, or practising walking down the aisle was super easy to book. Everything was dealt with so efficiently and they really do go above and beyond to make your day perfect. Hanbury team, we are so grateful to you, for allowing us to have the most magical day of our lives take place at the Barns - we wish we could do it all over again!!! Thank you! x

We got married here in August and had a fantastic day. The venue is great - private, rustic and beautifully set up. All the staff were great and they made everything easy. We loved the ceremony room in particular, it was exactly what we were looking for. We were lucky to have had a beautiful sunny day, but this venue would have been amazing whatever the weather so we wasn't too worried about the chance of rain. The venue are absolutely top class at communication, which is one of the main things you want when planning your wedding. They respond to emails quickly, answer questions efficiently and do everything they can to make your day special. Thanks Hanbury!

We absolutely loved our wedding at Hanbury, and we both honestly couldn’t have asked for a better day. Hanbury were in constant contact and no question was too small. The venue having 3 seperate rooms for each part of the day was a massive selling point for us. Not only is the venue beautiful but the staff were so helpful, in particularly Vicky who coordinated a day and helped it all run so smoothly! Thank you to team Hanbury

Took myself here today for the first time...weather was poor...but what an amazing find...walked round the quirky gardens, saw the new love locks in place, had a coffee in the cafe where I was privileged to meet Emma the owner...all the staff were delightful...one of the new members of staff even carried a garden planter back to my car as I have a shoulder injury...I highly recommend here , will return and have already told friends...it felt almost magical...

A gem hidden away in the Peak District. Lots of children's activities and a play ground . Lots of exploring to do . Ideal for the kids . Lovely house and gardens well presented and clean . Staff in cafe and garden center are friendly and helpful. Plenty of car parking .

I loved our visit to the Thornbridge estate. As a keen gardener and first year allotment holder, I was inspired by the planting in the gardens. The different 'rooms', each with their own style were all a delight. I especially like the garden where vegetables and flowers were all planted together - and the bean arch! The staff were all very welcoming and the cafe was fab. On our next visit we'll tour the house. It was definitely worth the long journey over from Nottingham. Thank you.

Wonderful, wonderful place. Very much recommend a visit. Had wonderful tea in the cafe with staff who could not do more to help. The guy in the garden centre was so friendly and chatty, but Adam who took us around the house, was the icing on the cake and really made mums (&mine) day. We felt like friends being given a tour of a family home and I was half expecting him to offer to put the kettle on it was so friendly. I also got to meet and make friends with their puppy. Not many places where you’ll get that level of attention

My partner and I had an overnight stay here on Valentines night. What a beautiful place! The customer service was excellent from start to finish, from the warm welcome at reception to the enthusiasm and knowledge of the wine waiter Alistair and prompt efficient service in the dining room. The food was absolutely 5 star and the bedrooms were comfortable and tastefully decorated. Overall the best hotel experience ever! Thankyou to all your wonderful staff members for making our stay a memorable one!

Stayed at Riverside hotel for one night. Our room overlooked the garden and had a lovely view of the river. Our room was exceptionally clean and tastefully decorated. The service throughout our stay was excellent and the three-course breakfast was delicious and plentiful, although, sadly we were unable to eat everything on offer.... We had vegan/vegetarian dietary requests, which were catered for, even to providing a beautiful vegan brownie along with the complimentary choux bun.... The staff at Riverside are incredibly welcoming and professional. The only downside for me was the proximity to the road, not a problem if you're not a light sleeper, sadly I am so I did hear traffic quite early on, although next time I'll be sure to pack earplugs...I would recommend a stay at this lovely hotel.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! The location is absolutely beautiful, right next to the river, and it’s also close to some fantastic local hiking routes—perfect for exploring the area. The rooms were spotless and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Both dinner and breakfast were fantastic, with great options for vegans, which was a huge plus. The staff were incredibly attentive, friendly, and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and truly hope to return soon!

A lovely hotel nestled in a quiet village. Having stayed here before we were looking forward to revisiting. From the moment you walk in the staff are so friendly and welcoming and can't do enough for you. Carlos was the perfect dinner host and even put aside some bread and butter for us to take home the following morning. The garden rooms are bright and airy and beds and pillows are very comfortable. The waitress at breakfast was lovely; she remembered us from previous visits. The breakfast is absolutely fabulous but you definitely need room for it. On this occasion we just opted for the full English as knew we wouldn't have room for all the courses. We love visiting and can't wait to revisit.

Well we were just blown away!! We honestly couldn’t have wished for a better day or more perfect venue! Laura and the river mill team were nothing less than outstanding! From that very first phone call, the attention to detail, planning, service, helpfulness and professionalism really were second to none, many guests commented on how the food was the best food they’d ever known at a wedding and how beautiful the venue was, but the outstanding feature has to be the staff, they really do go above and beyond to make sure you have the most PERFECT day ever!!! The River Mill have been fantastic from the start of our wedding planning, through to the big day! Laura and the team were so organised and worked so hard to deliver our special moments for us. The venue speaks for itself and is an ideal setting/ location for a relaxed rustic look wedding. However, the real stars are the organisers (Laura) and the catering team who make the moments special and are personable and friendly and helped us achieve our dream wedding! Would not hesitate to recommend this venue.

We just wanted to say a massive thank you to the team at the River Mill for making our day so special - we couldn't have asked for a dreamier venue and staff working so hard throughout the day. A particular shout out to Jane who went above and beyond throughout the entire process, she really has been such a big help and made the day run so smoothly. The decor was so pretty, the food was delicious and the staff were just perfect - I had multiple people come up to me and comment on Jane and the staff and how fab they were during the day so thank you so much for the River Mill team and the caterers!!

A.S. Party set up our wedding decor, providing table centre pieces and chair decoration. They helped us pick what would look good and came in to set it all up before the wedding. They made the venue look even more incredible than it already did. They also supplied the DJ who was great; he really listened to what we wanted to play and kept the guests up and moving until closing time. We would really recommend them. Thank you guys.

Thank you for providing a memorable party for my daughter’s 21st. Disco, Kareoke and selfie booth. So professional, could not do enough to make our evening special. Took all the worry of needing to understand all the technology. I was going to just hire a Kareoke machine, I am so glad I didn’t. The night was just perfect. Would highly recommend!!

Had these for my wedding in November amazing came in the afternoon to set up I didn't even know they'd done that as they didn't disturb the wedding bfast very accommodating with the music. They contributed to me having an smazing wedding day. If I have any further events they would definitely be my first call. And what can I say about price they can't be beaten.

Absolutely stunning venue that we stayed at while celebrating a friend's wedding. The only recommendation that we could make is that the venue could do with putting black out blinds in the family bedrooms as our little one woke up with the sunrise at 4am. But otherwise delicious food, beautiful scenery and wonderful experience.

We had our wedding at Shottle on 23.08.24 and it was the most special day. The house and gardens are beautiful, the staff were amazing and the day couldn’t have gone smoother. Our wedding coordinator was Holly and from the get go she was amazing at communicating with us, sorting any queries and helping us plan. I was quite stressed up till our meeting where Holly calmed all my anxieties and put me at ease, and on the day she made sure it all went smoothly! We had our wedding reception at Shottle Hall in February and were really impressed with everything! Holly our coordinator was amazing throughout the whole process of booking right up to the day of the wedding. We chose Gemma to be our venue stylist for our big day. We have to say that the service was absolutely amazing. From start to finish, Gemma was incredibly helpful, professional, and attentive to all of our needs and requests. From the moment we first contacted Gemma she was quick to respond and provided us with a wealth of information and ideas for styling our venue. We both knew we wanted to have Gemma be part of our wedding day. Gemma listened carefully to our vision for the wedding and helped us to bring it to life with her creative and expertly executed decor and design elements. On the day of the wedding, Gemma was there early to set up and ensure everything was perfect. Gemma paid attention to every little detail and went above and beyond to make sure that the venue was absolutely stunning. We were both blown away by the transformation of the space, and so were our guests.
