Fine dining at its best! Cannot fault the food, as in its flavour and presentation, absolutely impeccable! We had 3 course's to include Pigeon, Hare, Duck and Beef followed by delicious deserts. The service was welcoming and friendly and the atmosphere relaxing and comfortable. We visited on a Saturday lunchtime and chose from the A La Carte lunchtime menu dining in the restaurant. I honestly have not a bad word or critism regarding the food or service, 200% Fabulous!!

We came here to have dinner and were not disappointed. My partner and I had the cauliflower and truffle soup to start, and Tori had the whitebait. Large pieces of fish and the homemade sauce Tartare really made it. Then the main came, ox cheek for Mike and I had the slow roasted rib. Tori had the mushroom and truffle tagliatelle which was heavy going but the beef and ox cheek was a tender as you’d like. Drinks wise there was an enjoyable non alcohol Espresso Martini and I think I had a lime soda. We had a really enjoyable evening and the staff were attentive, amusing and this place comes highly recommended

Lovely place to come for a Sunday lunch. They have seating inside and outside and the front is a real sun trap. There is a two or three course option for a set price which was reasonable. Delicious food and would certainly return. The staff were friendly and attentive. You can sit outside with the dog too!

I cannot overstate how much I love this restaurant. It is me and partner’s favourite restaurant in Lincoln. Its fixed priced menu is an absolute bargain and their triple cooked chips are some of the best in the country. The service is impeccable. You can really tell the chefs put in a lot of effort to make the food taste delicious

First time dining here and the staff were so friendly and accommodating, apart from a little mistake which was quickly rectified the food was amazing. Customer service was 12/10 and the atmosphere was lovely. Will definitely be coming back to try the Guinness bread and cray dogs 😊

I've eaten Oysters from all over the world including Nova Scotia, famous for its seafood and in Jersey, meant to be the best British Oysters on the market, both were fantastic but I have to say the Oysters from The Pale were a the best I've ever had... which has blown my mind considering I live a 2 minute walk from the restaurant! The staff were so friendly and informative and really made us feel at home. Will be visiting again and will be recommening this hidden gem to anyone wanting an authentic dining experience in Lincoln.

This place is named after a strip of land between Scotland and Ireland that is big for fish. Described as a seafood comfort restaurant The Pale really fits the bill. I think they arranged the seats very cleverly, the menu is simple enough to be sustainable and I like the Irish feel with Colcannon and all the rest of it. We really enjoyed our time here as a family and there was plenty of helpful kind staff on hand. This place is a real boost for Lincoln and I would recommend it to almost anyone. In fact, I’m recommending it to everyone. It has a great atmosphere which is natural and relaxing. Just what the doctor ordered. The menu, whilst not extensive, is creative and varied. The chef obviously knows what works well. Thanks for looking after us all so well

The Botanist Lincoln

32 Sincil St, Lincoln LN5 7ET, UK | Restaurant
P: 01522 446000

Rating: 4.5 (1263) Price Level:

I recently visited The Botanist in Lincoln, and it was an absolute treat! The vibe was amazing—cozy yet lively, with a unique botanical decor that set the perfect atmosphere for a great night out. I ordered the Korean chicken, and it was next-level delicious. The crispy, flavorful chicken with just the right amount of spice hit the spot. I also couldn’t resist the garlic bread, which was perfectly toasted and oozing with garlicky goodness. And yes, I definitely had more than my share of drinks🥂 their cocktail menu is creative and packed with refreshing options. The staff were super friendly and attentive, making sure everything was spot on. Overall, it was an awesome evening, and I can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food, drinks, and vibes in Lincoln.

Excellent service, beautiful chain restaurant. We were seated in a lovely corner away from most people and that suited us perfectly! A very good allergy menu; just a wee bit pricier than our local indie restaurants! Good selection of non-alcoholic drinks. Lift for access to the top floor. Staff were brilliant!

Such a welcoming place, great staff and a warm atmosphere. The decor is eclectic and stylish, the staff friendly and attentive without feeling rushed. The kebabs are to die for, tender, moist chicken with a drizzling of garlic oil, lovely . As a footnote, the toilets were impressive as well

The food was nice, my steak was a bit dry and not really as medium rare as I wanted to. But the rest was really good. Totally loved their starters and never skip desserts :))) The service was amazing. The staff shall make sure you’re noticed and taken care of during the time you dine with them.

Only second time I've been to this one in lincoln. Been to the one in Newcastle which is unbelievable. This one shares the same theme, staff are great and very attentive with a good sense of humour too. Rare find. Went for the brunch, and boy was it busy. We hadn't booked, turned up off speck and made very welcome. Food was fabulous as you can see from the pics. Did t order the unlimited booze as I didn't think we would be there that long. Turns out we liked it that much they had to come and politely ask us to move downstairs to release the table for other customers. Didnt mind at all. Went downstairs and bumped into friends so stayed even longer. Great place, amazing atmosphere topped off with fab staff what more could a place ask for. Don't need to mention the food check out the pics, chefs well done no one see the hard work behind the scenes.

Booked for a large family celebration. Poppy was excellent from start to finish with communicating and making the afternoon so special. Service throughout was brilliant, we didn't have to lift a finger. All 3 courses of food were brilliant - the chefs and the whole team did a fantastic job. We would all highly recommend and will be back again very soon! Big thank you to all the team.

The bar was busy on the day we visited and we got the last table. I think the food deserves a review especially the sea bass which was an amazingly nice plate of food. The sea bass and the pie came with roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots and green veg which were cooked to perfection. My sister-in-law said the pie was a little salty but overall 5 stars.

We had our evening dinner here with our two children (2 & 5) and they loved it so much they asked to come back the next day for lunch! Our meal and the kids meals were fantastic, which matched the service as that was friendly, fast and incredibly efficient. We felt like we were in a much more expensive establishment, as so often you get left to fend for yourself in a busy hotel/dining establishment set up. Very reasonably priced for the portion size and quality of the food.

Visited the Duke William Hotel yesterday with my husband for the first time yesterday. What a lovely pub! The decor inside is beautiful, and the food was delicious. We were served by a young man called Charlie, who brought the drinks to our table and was very polite, and the staff that served us our food were also friendly! We will definitely be returning. Thank you for a great Sunday evening.

This is becoming one of my favourite places to refresh when in town. The staff are always very polite, professional and welcoming. Excellent choice at the bar with fair prices. The choice of seating is excellent whether inside or out. Little heaters outside are great. I have eaten and drank here but never stayed, I'm curious to what the rooms are like, to the point I may even book me and my wife in one night, even though we only live 15min out of town.

The Jews House Restaurant

Stayed to celebrate in Lincoln just for one night, so we wanted something special. We had high expectations, and that place still overdelivered. The portions are very interesting, but also substantial. You won't leave hungry, I promise. Sorbet was the name of the game. Horseradish sorbet, coriander sorbet, melon sorbet. Absolutely amazing. The service was very friendly, but extremely precise. Overall, immensely enjoyed the visit. Probably the best dinner we've had in the UK this year.

Located in a beautiful 12th century stone house on the famous Steep Hill, I was told this is arguably the best restaurant in Lincoln. Based on my experience, I won't be the one disputing that. I absolutely loved it! It is sympathetically restored and beautifully decorated. Modern additions of light stained framewood contrasts with the much older darker beams. The white painted ceiling between the beams and white walls brightens the place, but not too much, just enough, as it is combined with rich ochre and exposed stone walls. The palette of rich, bold ochre and red colours continues in the choice of materials, the velvet chairs and wall sitting area wonderfully complementing the darker wood of the tables. At the same time, the dimmed lighting provided by the lamps carefully positioned, almost requires a few minutes for your eyes to get used to it and take it all in. It is then, when sitting at the table that one can really appreciate the beauty of the place: stylish, upmarket, very elegant and classy, almost with a feel of a stately home. The way in, through a narrow and low ceiling side passage, is wonderfully quirky and totally belies what is to come. It almost has a theatrical way about it, opening into the compact entrance where you are met by the superb Samantha and staff. The food is absolutely delicious. I went all fishy on the day: cornish turbot as starter and seabass as main. I loved the imagination of some of the elements on the plate and the combination of flavours and textures, as well as the presentation. I chose the strawberry n elderflower jelly dessert on the day, with champagne consommé, white chocolate mousse and a rapsberry sorbet. Sweetness and acidity perfectly balanced and a fitting end to a wonderful meal. The atmosphere is great, very relaxed, so much so that I established easy conversation with some of the dinners, some regular customers driving over an hour to come to this restaurant as, according to them, it is not only the best restaurant in Lincoln but one of the very best in the area. And if you are into wine, fear not, the wine list is extensive and Samantha's knowledge phenomenal. A beautiful restaurant with delicious food, great staff and exceptional service. Unmissable!

Small, intimate, high-end restaurant set in a wonderfully characterful old property halfway up the hill in Lincoln. Offers a la carte dining and a 5-course tasting menu with wine pairings. Exceptionally friendly staff. We tried the tasting menu and while two dishes were excellent, there were several noticeable blips in quality (including a pancake that was clearly burnt to look at let alone taste), and overall the menu wasn't particularly imaginative. If you have the luxury of being able to go further afield, there are better experiences to be had for this price. If you're limited to Lincoln, though, I think there's nothing else that competes.

This is the second time I've visited when in Lincoln. I had to go back after the first time to see if it was a fluke (lol), it wasn't!! There's a great selection of beers / ales to chose from and the food (for the second time) was fantastic. The braised beef pot roast was rich and very tasty and the apple and winter fruits crumble with custard was delish. I would thoroughly recommend and will definitely be back.

We had Sunday dinner here as a family, earlier this year in June. Staff were accommodating finding us a table straight away, & we didn’t have to wait long for food to be served either.
