We came here for a meal on our anniversary as were spending few days away. We have a dog so we we're looking for a dog friendly place. We did not expect such a treat! Food: Steak - melt in your mouth! Beef - amazing Whole meal was delicious. We were tempted with a desert and - OMG cheesecake to die for!!! Service: Harriet and Lou were absolutely brilliant!!! Not only catered to us but our doggo got a treat too! Could not recommend enough - little gem definitely worth visiting !

This pub came highly recommended whilst staying in the area for a short break. It is located a short drive from Market Rasen on the Lincolnshire Wolds AONB. We first visited on a Sunday afternoon and both had pork as the main meat course (they had unfortunately run out of beef when we booked at 5.30pm). The meal was absolutely first class so we decided to revisit midweek. The haddock was coated in a thin layer of batter and was enormous! It was a lovely dining experience, the staff are attentive and friendly and pricing was exceptional value for money. I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the vicinity but advisable to book at weekends as it is extremely busy.

When we arrived we were met my friendly staff, but our table booking could not be found, the staff quickly made arrangements to get us seated. During the time we were in the restaurant the staff were attentive, professional and helpful. The food ordered was very well presented, tasty, and the portion sizes were excellent, especially the deserts. The beer served was very good. This was a very nice dining experience in a busy old thatched country pub, that was comfortable and had really nice ambience so much so we booked in for another meal later in the week. If you are in the area do book a table and enjoy.

The King's Head is the oldest thatched pub in Lincolnshire. I booked this as the menu and reviews looked good. The actual dining experience was far better than described in many reviews. I will add a small caveat here, if there is one thing wrong with the Kings head it is detail. As you will read they get it so right so many times but kitchen and bookings do miss the ball on a few things. On arrival, my booking had been misplaced, but the team quickly sorted the booking and sorted us out with a table. The menu is good, with the daily specials on each table. Service was friendly, helpful, and attentive. There is the normal drinks order taken and soon after, the drinks are brought over. The main food to be ordered. The food is manly of a very high quality and well presented. The portions are enormous. Especially any dessert you may have. There is a good range of recommended beers and wines and the taps are clean. The beer is well poored. This is a well-run pub/restaurant. Service is 5* food 5*.( on a second Friday visit the food fell down slightly items were left under the hot lights a little to long down to 3.5*) It's a nice traditional pub, it's comfy, friendly and a great dining experience. It is busy, so my main recommendation, other than go and experience, is to book ahead. Other than that, enjoy, but watch what they serve you. When busy, you might end up with a prawn cocktail rather than a prawn and salmon salad. Well done the team at the King's Head.

Partner and I were carriage driving the Lindsey Trails North Loop and took a small diversion to enjoy an al fresco pint. We were not dissapointed. Loverly old pub with a good selection of very reasonably priced largers and beers. Whilst we did not eat here, the pub is clearly a popular eatery; families came to stroke our pony and dogs and we learnt from them. We will be back. And we did, albeit several months later. First for a carriage drive by pint at lunchtime and in the evening we returned and had a very pleasant meal. Laaydee wife couldn't eat all her fish pie, excellent homemade pie and serving staff were happy to make the rest into a takeaway. Win win for us. My steak and kidney suet pud was great. Absolutely no leftovers!
