Lawrence is an excellent tutor who greatly helped me with English literature and language GCSEs. With his help, I have achieved grade 8s, which was far above my predicted grade 6s. His teaching style ensures that you gain a better understanding of the subject and allows the application of skills in an exam setting.

We had a very positive experience with Lawrence, who taught our son both Maths and English, for a few months coming up to GCSE exams. I think that it's really helped our son's confidence, and almost certainly will have helped the grades too. Lawrence is very patient, enthusiastic, and clearly relates well to children/ teenagers of this sort of age.

We were looking for a tutor to help our 13 year old daughter and Lawrence was recommended by a friend. Our daughter sat in the middle of the pack in terms of marks within her class and in our opinion, she was getting overlooked and needed some extra tuition and encouragement. Lawrence has brought her on leaps and bounds with her maths and in her last test, came top of the class. He has a calm and welcoming nature about him and I would highly recommend his services to anyone in similar circumstances to us.

Our daughter really enjoys her math lessons with Johanna and is really reassuring to watch her confidence improving. She had to adjust and catch up with a new, more advanced curriculum as we moved to Nottingham 6 months ago. Johanna went through to identify all gaps and they are working towards covering gaps and building solid foundations. The homework that Johanna assigns in every lesson is very helpful to consolidate her learning.

Our daughter has been having tutoring with Johanna for just over six months. When she started she felt really overwhelmed by her maths at school and believed that she just couldn't do it. Johanna has not only taught her how to tackle questions but also improved her confidence. We have been given some great links to maths games and activities to do at home and these have really helped cement what's she's learning in class and in tutoring. Angie is just amazing! Not only is she a maths genius, but she completely understands and can relate to her students. Within only a couple of sessions she had successfully rekindled my son’s motivation for his A-level maths. Covid and lockdowns had stolen much of his drive previously. Angie’s encouragement, enthusiasm and very focussed approach worked wonders for embedding his understanding. She took the time to go through completed homework assignments and every lesson was then tailored specifically to areas which required additional support. As a parent it was lovely to read the feedback and see the progress shared from each session. I would recommend Angie without hesitation.

Excellent weekly tuition initially securing basic skills and moving on to higher level maths. Engaging lessons where our son gained the confidence to risk take and believe that he could succeed with strategies clearly explained and modelled. Angie has high expectations and a nurturing manner that even through lockdown had our son eager to participate in his lessons. Homework set after each lesson was pitched well to either consolidate or deepen learning. Weekly progress reports were sent to ensure that we knew exactly what he had been working on and keep us thoroughly updated on his progress and next steps. We cannot recommend Angie enough and can’t wait for her to start tutoring our younger son. This really has been a positive experience. Thank you x

Angie has been amazing for my son , he really struggled to motivate himself through lock down and home learning, this resulting in low gradeS and a loss of interest in maths . After a couple of sessions with Angie we saw his motivation , confidence and his love of maths return this time resulting in significantly improved assessment results . Nick is such a great tutor he did some amazing work with my son and through some tricky times he tailored learning around his Minecraft passion and so learning became fun. I highly recommend to anyone that is looking to get their child some support or extra learning. Nick has provided teaching lessons for my daughter for over 5 years. My daughter is now 10. Nick teaches in a variety of essential learning skills in line with national curriculum pathways, relevant to the current year of study. Nick has a good knowledge and understanding of national curriculum requirements at every level of reception and junior school level. He also teaches senior school kids. Additionally, Nick actively communicates with the schools to ensure his teaching sessions dovetail with the pupil. Nick was particularly invaluable during the pandemic, Providing additional on line sessions with my daughter. He continues to provide a great service at a reasonable price. Even when teaching online, he has a range of tools to ensure the child is engaged and is able to concentrate. He is professional and punctual. My daughter started with some booster sessions throughout the summer then continued with weekly sessions with Nick. The background work that Ian put in prior to our first meeting was excellent and on his initial visit he was extremely professional and spent a lot of time with my daughter listening to her needs and found out what parts of her A level biology course she needed help with . Ian was non judgemental and took time to find out what was important to her with her learning style and matched her with a great tutor called Celia. She is one lesson down and even now, is starting to believe that she can turn her grades around because of this

Very good experience using this company. Ian was very quick to respond to my enquire and spent 20+ minutes on the phone with me, discussing my needs. Only a day later I was matched up with my tutor, a few days later I met up with my new maths tutor, Giovanni, who is friendly, a great teacher and very patient, for our first session. I Would recommend to anyone who either needs that bit more help with whichever subject, maybe to restore some confidence and someone needs guidance right from the start of their tutoring journey.

Fantastic professional local company. From the initial enquiry to the tutoring the whole experience far exceeded my expectations. Neil has been tutoring my son in Maths snd Further Maths since the Covid era. It has been such a blessing. Not only did my son get top marks for GCSE, but also inspired to take those subjects for his A levels. Neil has a huge library of resources of past papers. Becky has been teaching my twins for a few months and I’m so pleased with the lessons and how my children are both progressing. My son has been receiving one to one tuition for around 4/5 months now. We started with Spark Academy to help improve his reading and math. Had a good experience with Isaac our personal tutor for son's GCSE maths retake. Son failed his maths but was able to resit again in Jan 2025. Isaac was brilliant, had private tutor for 1 hr pw. My son passed his maths with flying colours, well worth the money, could highly recommend Tutor Doctor.
