We came for lunch and a cheeky cocktail each. Service was very welcoming, cocktails delicious and the food well prepared. My steak melted in the mouth and Ingrids linguine was very tasty. Well done Lussmanns!

A gem in the heart of Berkhamsted 😍 the food is excellent, friendly staff, and their lovely garden at the back is warmly welcoming you! Either two courses or three courses meals, it is value for money. Reservations in advance are always good because this place is quickly booked 👍🏼 This evening we had our meals again at the Five Bells and I had a vegetarian meals, ‘mince lamb’ with pita bread. It was delicious..!!

We had a nice mother's day late lunch early dinner here. The vegan option (King scallop oyster mushrooms) was delicious and my daughter enjoyed the lamb bombas. I tried the smoked trout which nice and my son had the potted crab. Mains were a bit more hit and miss with my smoked haddock being spoiled because it was very salty and overwhelmed with a cream sauce. He poached egg on top however ever was perfect! Again the vegan flatbread option with fake lamb was nice and the cod cheeks and whole sole were delicious. We nearly passed on dessert but pleased we didn't because the lemon posset, sticky toffee pud, apple crumble and chocolate mousse were delicious too. The waiting staff were attentive. Book in advance at a weekend.

Nine of us dined (a late lunch) in the private dining room on the first floor. The team (gloriously international) were friendly, upbeat, patient and attentive. The food was attractive to look at, beautifully cooked and very tasty. We were not pressurised to leave and enjoyed nearly 4 hours of consummate hospitality.

Our 1st day in the UK and we decided to go out for some beers and a bite to eat. We came upon The Unicorn, lovely place and super friendly people. When we decided to finally eat we found out the kitchen had closed up an hour before. The owner Deb asked if we liked pizza and literally called a place down the road and booked us a table for 2 and then drive us there.amd walked us inside to make sure they took care of us. After eating we walked back just to hang out and drink with the locals and thank Deb. I highly recommend stopping in, having a pint and saying hi!

Very nice and cosy place, we were welcomed with a small child and stroller was no problem. The staff was super nice and helpful. Food was very tasty and we didn’t wait long. We had some traditional dishes, as far as English cousine goes the food was good, not oversized neither small. Really nothing to complain about. Thank you very much

My sisters and I travelled from Australia and we had lunch here- we absolutely loved the environment, classic pub food and lovely service. 10/10 would recommend.

My friends and I stopped here for our first meal on our UK trip and had a great time! The service was wonderful and the bar staff were very welcoming and friendly. I was delighted that they had a GF lasagna as an option. It's the type of place that I could see myself being a regular at!

A wonderful place. Crisps are perfect, meat is a delight. They are so good that might have something tasty for vegetarians. Beer of the house is just out of this world. A delicious taste which is leaving you speechless and wanting for more. An A 🌟. Place.

The food here was pretty good, but not exceptional. The fried chicken starter was pretty good, while the Louisiana Shrimp toast was nice but extortionate for £12.50. We got the Texas Tray, and the short rib was a standout as it was delicious, so tender and had a great flavour. The sausages, burnt ends, and pulled pork beans were also good, but the mac n’ cheese was a little dry and disappointing - especially compared to other smokehouses such as Hickory’s. Overall, a pretty good meal, but pricey.

Yummy meat in my belly! The home made sauces were good! Fries were banging l, crispy, well seasoned Good amount of food for 2 people with the pit master and good variety Fried chicken was super good Crispy skin on the pitmasted chicken 🍗 I had a good meal!

Very good authentic BBQ, maybe a little pricey but you do feel like the quality is good so it's mostly worth it. Had a sharing platter to myself and was very satisfied and had a beef rib to take home for a snack later! Would definitely come back as a treat!

Wednesday evening we went as a booking of 8 and from the moment we walked in, to to moment we left the hospitality was great. Staff worked tirelessly to ensure us and other guests were well served and always kept on top of the service without disturbing us too often. Food was amazing, all fresh and served together. Would highly recommend!

Been here a number of times and the pizza is always awesome. I went for the shredder and my partner in crime went for the Toni (like an American hot). I’ve had the shredder before and it’s yummy. It’s a good size pizza (not to massive that you can’t finish it) and not overloaded so you feel bloated. It’s just the right amount of food and a good mix of flavours. They have a pizza of the month so you can get some variation on the regular menu. They do other stuff here too. I’ve had the mac and cheese which I would also recommend. Service is quick and efficient. It can get busy though so sensible to reserve a table either in the eating area or in the bar. They had live music on yesterday while we ate and it was great. Good vibes and good music. Will definitely be going again.

Quirky place, well situated for a lunch detour, and friendly enough that we'd have liked to stay longer. The pizzas and craft beer were fantastic --no pics as we were too hungry!

Amazing pub. Amazing staff. Amazing pizzas! The Toni pizza is a staple for those who like Pepperoni. Tried the Hombre for the first time and it was great, kind of like tasty nacho toppings on a pizza! Defo recommended.

This pub is absolutely incredible! If you are near or even a bit far away from here you have to go and give their pizzas a try! They even got to the finals of the national pizza awards! The whole team is lovely, Josh’s service on the bar was awesome and he seemed to be always smiling and chatting away with the regulars. We’ll certainly be adding this to our ‘must stop at’ list!

The food is really good! I'm most impressed with the service. I try to get my children to order where they can (over the phone and in person to build confidence and competence in general life skills) and i cannot praise this place enough. I am 4 tries in so this is not a "good day thing" they have been so good with my son and i can't thank them enough. I work front of house myself and there are soooo many children that can't speak to others, which is why i am so passionate about making sure my children can. These guys are amazing at making my boys feel comfortable enough to do this ❤️ THIS IS RARE and i want to shout about it!

Had a good meal here last night. It was Monday night so was a bit quiet but I’ve seen it busy here before so advise you book. Poppadoms were good, the sauces/dips were fresh and tasty. Had a pint of kingfisher which was well poured and had a good head on it so they must be storing their lager well. I had chicken tikka masala as a main which was one of their specialities. It was pretty good. I like a more mild curry so it was perfect for me. Some nice aromas in the sauce too. The pilau rice was soft and fluffy so complements there too. The naan was well cooked and plenty of flavour. Overall it was a decent meal. The staff were friendly and attentive. The decor looks a little dated or it’s perhaps not my style but don’t let that put you off. Go for the food. Don’t usually eat curry often in Baldock but I would go back.

We had a birthday party for two members of the family so quite a few guests and knew there would be only one place to order food from. As expected the food was great with no complaints from anyone. Another great meal from Dine Bangla. Will never go anywhere else.

Our absolute favourite restaurant in Watford, we’ve been multiple times and never been disappointed. We like to arrive a little early, sit at the bar and have a couple of delicious cocktails at the bar (on happy hour) before taking our table. The menu isn’t extensive, but it doesn’t need to be. The tapas style starters are all on point, personal favourites are the croquetas and gyoza. Main courses also measure up, with the jerk sauce fantastic, and the short rib falling off the bone. Top notch service throughout, and the team really make an effort to create a great vibe in the restaurant.

Very high quality food, cooked to perfection and fairly priced with good presentation, staff were friendly and kind in a sleek and romantic restaurant especially at night. Went on a Tuesday evening was very quiet but tasteful music in the background kept a positive atmosphere. The bone marrow was excellent, proper fine dining experience with expected smaller portions but the quality makes up for it.

Visited Humo for the first time today, it has been on my list of restaurants to try for a while and it did not disappoint! We had the Tapas and tried 5 different dishes. To our surprise it was also Happy Hour so we ordered a couple of Strawberry Daiquiries to accompany our meal. If I could give the meal 10/10 I would. The drinks were delicious, each tapas dish was perfect, we particularly enjoyed the bone marrow. The service was superb too. We will be back, I suspect this could quickly become our favourite restaurant in Watford! 🤩

My husband and I went to Humo for dinner. We had the 3 course dinner menu which was good value. The starters were delicious - ham croquettes and fish tacos. The steak main was unfortunately a little rare in the middle when I had wanted medium rare but was yummy but the pickle salad was underwhelming. The dessert of pistachio tiramisu was delicious! Service - not super attentive but they were nice and had to request condiments, remind them we had ordered wine and was a little slow. Wouldn’t rush to go back here.

Have been here a couple of times now with my boyfriend, and we always really look forwards to it because of the absolutely delicious food. It’s on the slightly more expensive side in Berkhamsted but is totally worth it for a special occasion. The restaurant is separated from the bar and has a nice quiet atmosphere. Also very friendly, helpful service.

Never had a bad meal here. Service is very welcoming, friendly and good. Price/quality is great. I can recommend the cheese soufflé as a starter.

Really enjoyed my lunch in the restaurant with friends this week. It was nice that we could have two starters rather than a main, then a dessert. The cheese souffle is always a hit with us. Enjoy it every time. Lovely to meet Raymond Blanc too. Public car park at rear.

A great stop in our motorhome. Very welcoming staff and good quality pub food. Great selection of real ales and Porter. Locals were very friendly and it is obvious that the dogs rule here. Thanks for having us

Super traditional pub with excellent choice of beers all of which are beautifully kept.

Our go to pub in Baldock. Anywhere from 6-10 Cask ales on at a time, the majority of which are from local breweries. The Sunday roasts are exceptional (booking is needed as they're often fully booked on a Sunday). Lovely big garden and dog friendly too.

A fantastic dining experience at Il Pellegrino! The food was exceptionally delicious, served hot and with great attention to detail. The service was impeccable—10/10. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and we were seated at a perfectly located table, making the experience even more enjoyable.

Excellent place to eat. Managed to reserve a table in the widow. Bustling busy restaurant with excellent service. Child friendly. Pets welcome outside. Food was good value and delicious. We don't go to Watford often but this is a place I will revisit.

This Italian restaurant is a personal favorite; I discovered it serendipitously and highly recommend it. Their pizza, with its uniquely thin and crispy crust, is exceptional. The grilled chicken breast with mushroom sauce is also outstanding. The ambiance is cozy, featuring a warm, woody décor and subdued music. While service speed could be improved—we experienced some delays and needed to call the waiter—it remains a hidden gem, offering a delightful dining experience capped by an excellent dessert.

Overall, food is pretty good, atmosphere was nice, service was friendly but also a little hasty. Pizza crust was nice, but not exceptional. The 10% service fee at the end is not something we appreciate, maybe we are just new in town.
