The food here is 10/10, the place looks so much nicer as well, looks very clean/open. Love that they kept the black and white walls too. Vegan burger was banging and the fries with the shack seasoning was peng, deffo recommend. Next time I must try a milkshake as the photos online look too good 😍

Great atmosphere and service, pretty decor. Only qualm are the small plates, especially for the sandwich. I got the chicken sandwich with mac and cheese and sriracha mayonnaise, it was delicious. The only thing I wasn’t expecting was how sweet it was. My friend had a burger, which was good however the burger bun was quite small which didn’t keep the whole burger intact.

Very tasty food and reasonable prices, the fried chicken spiciness is spot on and while meal very enjoyable. Only slight downside for me was that the burgers were of the smash variety which while crispy I feel you lose a lot of the lovely beefy taste. I'd likely stick to the chicken in the future as that was lovely, but if you like smash burgers then you'll like these!

Very nice family dinner. First time I've been in since some company meals years ago. All 4 of the mains went down a treat. My duck and sweet potato mash was delicious. My wife loved her halibut and my parents finished of their sea bass and ginger chicken & rice. Staff were attentive and hospitable.

We recently dined at this establishment based on glowing reviews and an intriguing interior. From the moment we entered the small parking area to the warm welcome by a helpful young man, our experience was delightful. The restaurant's decor was captivating, and we were promptly seated at a perfectly arranged table. Our waiter, a friendly and charming gentleman, efficiently took our drink orders, and the haddock fish cakes for starters were truly satisfying. The mains featured a flawlessly cooked 8oz Scottish steak, tailored to my medium preference. The intimate and well-thought-out atmosphere, coupled with the wonderfully friendly staff, made for a memorable evening. We look forward to returning soon and extend our compliments to the chefs for crafting truly spectacular food. Thank you for making our evening truly wonderful.

Excellent service at Bridge St on May 1st, as was the food (Halibut) and wine. My wife and I really enjoyed out time there, and this made a wonderful part to our Anniversary. Thankyou all. We will be back!

Excellent mid-week dinner with a client. Authentic bistro feel, a cosy space with a very welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Great food too; the Beef Wellington was fantastic and was accompanied by some classic tunes from the 70's.

Visiting on business and needed a place for dinner. I was very happy, the crab linguine had ample crab and flavorful. I had reviewed the menu outside but the description of the special which was a chicken Fricassee sounded so good I selected it and was as good as it sounded. Pleasant restaurant and friendly staff. Service could have been a bit faster but I was not in a hurry.

If you want a gut busting big plate of food this is probably not for you. If you want beautifully cooked and presented fine dining then this is the place. The missus and I enjoyed a fabulous evening here. My trout was especially delicious. Service great too Thank you

I’ve been here a few times now, and each time I have gone the food has been great. I recommend the tapas, and the lamb souvlaki is just out of this world. Service is quite good and the price is not too bad for the quality. Would love to go back and try more!

Went for a meal with friends, a good selection of dishes, they recommended 2-3 dishes for the tapas or a sharing platter. Food was tasty, but nothing particular jumped out. A good place to pick for a meal out and you won't be disappointed.

Couldn't recommend the restaurant enough!! Staff were incredibly attentive, friendly and welcoming. The food was 10/10. The atmosphere was lovely. It was mine and my husband's wedding anniversary when we visited The Farmhouse at Redcoats and we were made to feel special the whole night through, with complimentary glasses of prosecco and the yummiest madeleines for desert!! An amazing experience, we can't wait to be back!!

Spent one evening as a short local getaway. Was so pleasantly surprised by the exceptional service, firstly we were very kindly offered an upgrade to our already gorgeous room in the barn to a stunning room overlooking the courtyard, next we were given a table at the bar despite not making a booking, and fully taken care of by the staff. The food was exceptional- would highly highly recommend the 10oz 40 day dry aged steak and hand dived scallops. Breakfast was divine with a generous menu and buffet spread. Last but not least the stay itself was wonderful, the grounds are garden are gorgeous, perfectly tucked away near the A1 and would happily visit again.

We celebrated my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary, and it couldn't have been better! The food was stunning – every dish was a delight, and the atmosphere was so warm and inviting. Massive shoutout to Matt for his fabulous service, making the night extra special for us. The whole team truly went above and beyond, and we can't wait to come back for more!

The level of service at the Farmhouse is sensational. Everyone was so helpful, kind, fabulous. I’ve not experienced such a high level of restaurant service for a while. They were very clear and helpful with allergens and had a whole vegan menu that was great to see. Lots of parking too. Looking forward to going back.

First time ate there. Lovely food. Just the guy who attempted to take our orders probably not a front of house staff as he struggled a lot. But the food was lovely so no complaints. They also put premium toilet paper in their toilets I have never seen in any other restaurant. Just made me feel like they care. Will definitely visit again.

Tasty food and great service. Particularly enjoyed the noodles and the spring rolls. The place is nice but the smell of cooking is quite strong since the kitchen is at the entrance without proper ventilation. Nevertheless, I would definitely go back

Stopped off for a quick lunch, met by a very welcoming waitress, enjoyed our food from the lunch menu which was excellent value. Service was excellent. The only downside was the small group of shouty women all talking over each other making the place very noisy.

We have used the Highlander for many-a-celebration over the years and always had an excellent experience. Today was another of those occasions. The communication from Charlotte (the owner) was great. The food was enjoyed by all 16 of us dining, from young ones to older ones! The food tastes fresh and uses high quality ingredients. All the staff were fantastic and it felt like a home from home from the moment we arrived. We will definitely be back again to enjoy future celebrations with you. Fantastic family run business, friendly staff, top quality food, good choice of ales/drinks, pleasant outdoor section with plenty of seating. Not cheap but worth the money. This is going to become our regular I suspect 🧐

I recently celebrated my 30th birthday with 25 family and friends in the Marshall Room at The Kite at the Red Hart, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. A huge thank you to Jess for being so accommodating; nothing was too much trouble, even with a few last-minute changes. Her flexibility and attention to detail made everything run so smoothly. The room was decorated beautifully, the food was absolutely incredible, and all of our guests are still talking about it. Thank you to the whole team for making the evening so special. I’d highly recommend The Kite at the Red Hart for any private event and I’ll definitely be back!

Booked the whole venue for a wedding in May. It’s no exaggeration to say that everything was simply SPECTACULAR. The venue itself, the ceremony room, wedding breakfast and atmosphere were outstanding. This however wouldn’t have been possible without Jess, Freya, Liv, Alfie, Tom and Olly and the kitchen team - Olly even made us an unforgettable Pork Pie wedding cake. It honestly felt like friends were taking care of absolutely everything and all that was left for us to do was to enjoy an amazing day. So impressed we’re already planning a big birthday event so we get to do it all over again. Cannot recommend enough!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Kite at the Red Hart in November 2024. The team made the wedding planning process incredibly easy and stress-free. They liaised with suppliers and communication was great. We had the option of having specific beer/wine/cocktails which was a lovely touch. The team also had wedding signage made for us in our particular style. These details made it so special and bespoke. The venue is stunning, very modern yet very cosy and intimate which was exactly what we wanted. We were able to officially get married at the venue in their upstairs ceremony room which is beautifully decorated. Our guests said the food was the best wedding food they’ve ever had and we certainly agree! We wanted particular canapés which the chef happily accommodated and it was all delicious. We also had the chance to meet the chef to discuss options for the main food and grazing table which was beautifully presented (and tasted amazing!). They catered to various dietary restrictions including gluten free, vegan and allergies. We had live music and a dance floor area with the bar nearby which was perfect for the evening reception and party! There were so many drink options available and an amazing cocktail menu. The staff on the day of the wedding were outstanding, incredibly helpful, attentive and friendly. They made sure all of our guests were looked after and ensured the day flowed perfectly. We would highly recommend this venue if you want a fun, modern, intimate and unique wedding ceremony and reception all in one place!

A truly great pub! My partner and I have loved the kite for many years and recently invited friends and family to join us for small gathering to enjoy it. Fantastic food and service. Jess is so welcoming and accommodating as were all other staff. Thank you for a super day raising a toast to our engagement.

Was a really lovely bottomless very attentive lovely service. They had tech issues but were apologetic and completely upfront, but a little late due to to it but they never made us feel unwelcome or unattended for long! Defo recommend. Lexi was super lovely and sweet

The food was nice and a reasonable price. The stand out thing was the service. Lexi was friendly, thoughtful and informative. We were informed of anything that wasn't on the menu and what could be done as a replacement. She asked questions and was very attentive. Very good customer service, rarely found these days.

We visited on Saturday lunchtime with family for a birthday meal. The food was amazing, even better than expected - all 9 of us really enjoyed our meals. The staff were friendly and kind enough to let us bring a birthday cake to light and share. Brilliant atmosphere and wonderful venue. We will be back again!
