A lovely afternoon lunch location. We cannot fault our earlier lunch at the Axe and Compass. The menu is comprehensive with varied and reasonably priced offerings. The food is delicious and well presented in an old but beautifully re-decorated village pub. Highly recommended. We will be back soon !
Our first visit here for Sunday lunch and it won't be out last .. Everything was on point Food (exceptional) Atmosphere Service Even the dogs had a menu which was a lovely touch . Best roast we've ever had
Have visited quite a few times now.. for drinks, dinner, breakfast and also on Christmas Eve. Food is always good, with a lovely atmosphere (especially after a walk around the village on a Sunday morning, sitting in front of the fire!) Friendly staff and great service (a thank you again to Oliver - who’s served us the last couple of times and just made our visits all that bit nicer!) Would recommend if you want somewhere local, but just that little bit more than your average pub!
Fabulous food at the Axe and Compass tonight. Every dish was fresh and tasty- compliments to the chef. Angel and her team were great and nothing was too much trouble. She even laughed at the Dad jokes!
