Neat, tidy and very good attention to detail and great quality. I have been using this company for years for many carpentry jobs including new doors and associated ironmongery etc. Structural floors and finishing works. 🥇 Only small draw back is that they don't do all the building work i need , like plumbing. 😄

We used Scott from 1st Choice Carpentry & Building to install our new kitchen. He did a fantastic job for us - installed to a really high standard, with minimal disruption. Scott is polite and friendly, and a tidy worker. He kept us informed about everything during the process. The price we paid was very competitive and we would definitely use him again for any further carpentry or building work we needed done. We highly recommend Scott 👍

Would recommend using Scott, searched through quite a few carpenters on google before deciding to use his services. I was not disappointed with the result and his workmanship, a tidy and friendly contractor, who kept me informed throughout the build and helped me out with additional jobs around the house at no extra hassle.

Scott has played a very important role in our home renovation project! We've done everything from changing the windows to outside cladding, indoor carpentry and plastering etc. Absolutely impeccable craftsmanship from Scott, cannot fault a single thing he's touched! We get so many compliments on our house from passer-bys these days and it is hugely thanks to him! Scott is an honest tradesman who takes time to understand what needs to be done, but he's also got a wealth of experience and is happy to suggest ways things should be done, too. Scott also helped to recommended other tradesmen for the work that he can't do himself. Let me tell you, every person that he recommended has done well! So as long as we live in Sutton Coldfield, we'll be going back to Scott if anything else needs doing. PS: To the person who's left one star review. Sorry you missed on having Scott doing some work on your house! He really is very busy and when your quote slipped through, he was very busy with all that work that was being done on our house. This, however, shouldn't warrant a one star review, as it isn't a reflection of Scott's actual craftsmanship, which what these reviews should be about! Thanks!

Phil has recently completed the most beautiful set of 4 fitted bookcases with cupboards below and a cupboard across the bay window. We are thrilled! Phil developed a design based on our basic needs and the finished effect is amazing: he has such good aesthetic sense and attention to detail. He is tidy and considerate and goes the extra mile: he offered to do our skirting boards too so that the fit with the cupboards is immaculate. Would definitely ask Phil back. And a thoroughly nice man as well as being a highly talented professional; a great experience! (Will add photos later)

Phil is the consumate professional you've always dreamed of. We have had several jobs done by Phil, fitting new doors with oak lintel, oak shelving and bespoke wardrobes in a challenging space. He will spend as long as you require to discuss the project and will always find a solution which, when finished, is exactly what you were expecting. Courteous, tidy and always turns up when he says he will! Can't recommend highly enough and we will undoubtedly use Phil again.

I cannot recommend Philip enough from start to finish for fitting my entire kitchen. When Philip first came to look at my house and when we first met, he was on time and an extremely nice genuine person. He made lots of ideas and suggestions to improve on my plans using his knowledge and experiences. Although I had a fairly large kitchen, I was actually on a tight budget. Philip’s quote arrived on time and was "extremely" favourable in comparison to two other quotes I received. He took great care to protect my new oak floor. Each day the house was left clean and tidy. He was extremely reliable and 100% trustworthy. Philips attention to detail was excellent and I couldn't fault anything he did. My entire kitchen looks STUNNING ! And to say I am delighted with him workmanship is an understatement. As soon as I have saved up, I would like Philip to return and make me a treehouse and other projects.....he is that good....

If you’re thinking of having Phil undertake carpentry at your house please do not hesitate. He is a consummate professional, excellent at his craft and on top of that a really friendly bloke. We wanted a bespoke staircase fitted in our home, modelled on the original 1960s open tread staircase, and Phil did an excellent job (see photos). He worked so hard to make the staircase practical and beautiful and we have had so many comments on how beautiful it is. We would happily use Phil again and recommend him to friends and family.

Raf and Chris did a bang-on job with my new cabinet! Proper quality work, solid as owt, and it fits the space perfect. They’re sound blokes, listened to what I wanted, and cracked on with no fuss. Rafa and team worked wonders on my kitchen. They replaced an old work surface with solid oak, fitted a wall cupboard and created a bespoke solution to cover my unsightly boiler pipes. Good communication throughout, adaptable and competitively priced. They took care to keep things clean and tidy too, putting down dust overs and hoovering after finishing the job. I am delighted with the finish and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Rafa fitted a built in wardrobe in my bedroom he helped me design what I had in mind, and built the wardrobe and spray painted the doors to the exact paint colour we wanted. Had floorboards replaced as room creaked really loudly when walking through it, house is about 60 odd years old. Came within timely manner to tell us if job was do able and informed us of what he would need to do. Quoted us a few days later reasonable amount. Contacted us when a cancellation came up and did the job ahead of schedule. Work done in a timely clean manner had to pop out to get some additional material but price and quote never changed, even vacuumed our landing and stairs after work which was a pleasant surprise! Room no longer creaks can't ask for more then that

Hill Maintenance have just completed our new bathroom and fitted new internal doors and the work is exceptional. The finish is amazing and all the products they use are top quality. They are professional, trustworthy, polite, very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about what they do. They are extremely tidy and at the end of each day they clean up before they leave. We recently had our staircase refurbished with oak spindles and a feature bottom step, and 16 internal doors replaced with oak doors. We could not have come across three nicer guys as Adam, Tom and Cameron who did a job beyond are expectations. Excellent in their trade, very tidy in their work and cleared up every night. Adam and his team took great care for the design of our short staircase banisters, offering helpful suggestions to improve the effectiveness and was flexible to our requirements and choices. The work was carried out neatly and tidily and we enjoyed having them there with their enormous amount of equipment. Unfortunately as incorrect spindles were supplied to them, there was a long delay in completing the job, otherwise it would have been 5 stars.

We had skirting, archis, door frames and doors for the full house fitted by the man himself, couldn't recommend him enough, brilliant workmanship.

Chet rehung my lounge door which kept coming away from the frame. He was efficient and prompt in coming out and provided good advice on the cause and how to manage any issues in the future. I would highly recommend this polite and knowledgable craftsmen.

I hired this contractor to fit 7 Oak internal doors, cap an open staircase with new Oak steps, and install new skirting boards in certain areas of the property. Communication throughout the process was excellent, and the work was completed both effectively and efficiently. The quality of the work was top-notch, and the cost was very competitive.
