Well, what can I say…. It’s hard to find genuine firms in the building trade but Steve and the team are amazing. It’s the second time I have used them, the first being 11 years ago and the latest, last month in 2025. They have only got better with time. A building firm that is on time, trustworthy and courteous. They do what they can say, rather than what you want to hear. Just realistic timelines and honesty. We felt very happy to leave keys and free access, which is rare. Above all, they are excellent at their craft, coping with very awkward roof lines and my picky ways! I feel that SSH are a big enough company to deal with anything thrown at them but small enough to care and I felt a really personal touch was offered. It’s a stressful and dirty environment living through building works and this care does make a difference. In terms of pricing from my quotes, they are not the cheapest in Sutton but they are definitely not the most expensive. If you want honest, hardworking genuine builders you cannot go wrong with them. I would not use anyone else. Highly recommend.

I have used SSH Construction on numerous occasions over the years, starting with a simple kitchen and bathroom installation. The core SSH team of Steve, Mike and Sam completed a fantastic stunning quality job which involved pretty much all of their trusted trades partners for architectural design, demolition, building, landscaping, kitchen, bathroom, electrics, plumbing, a green energy system through to final decoration. I undertook, what was to me, a very daunting roof off, walls down, ground up complete renovation and extension of our long time family home and garden. I was wowed with their customer care, attention to detail and fairness with the contract & variations. Their pace of work was amazing too with the complete transformation completed by all the trades in just 9 months.

We used Scott from 1st Choice Carpentry & Building to install our new kitchen. He did a fantastic job for us - installed to a really high standard, with minimal disruption. Scott is polite and friendly, and a tidy worker. He kept us informed about everything during the process. Would recommend using Scott, searched through quite a few carpenters on google before deciding to use his services. I was not disappointed with the result and his workmanship, a tidy and friendly contractor, who kept me informed throughout the build and helped me out with additional jobs around the house at no extra hassle.

Scott came to do some panelling, build a bespoke cupboard and fit a ceiling rose. His workmanship is excellent. My living room is transformed! He listened to exactly what I wanted, was incredibly reliable and communicated well. He even worked late until the job was done! Wonderful service! I would definitely recommend him and his company.

Neat, tidy and very good attention to detail and great quality. I have been using this company for years for many carpentry jobs including new doors and associated ironmongery etc. Structural floors and finishing works. 🥇 Only small draw back is that they don't do all the building work i need , like plumbing. 😄

Paul fitted 8 new cottage style doors in our Victorian Semi to replace the original 140 year old pine ones that were really showing their age The transformation is amazing. The doors he supplied were already coated in a nice primed finish, and actually were exactly the same colour as our choice of paint, which was Creme Del la Creme in the French Chic range ,so we only had to paint the sides he individually planed to fit . I had Paul to fit 9 doors and I'm very please they look great and good quality. Nothing was too much bother and he cleaned up after and took my old doors away.
