Would recommend using Scott, searched through quite a few carpenters on google before deciding to use his services. I was not disappointed with the result and his workmanship, a tidy and friendly contractor, who kept me informed throughout the build and helped me out with additional jobs around the house at no extra hassle.

We used Scott from 1st Choice Carpentry & Building to install our new kitchen. He did a fantastic job for us - installed to a really high standard, with minimal disruption. Scott is polite and friendly, and a tidy worker. He kept us informed about everything during the process. The price we paid was very competitive and we would definitely use him again for any further carpentry or building work we needed done. We highly recommend Scott 👍

Scott has played a very important role in our home renovation project! We've done everything from changing the windows to outside cladding, indoor carpentry and plastering etc. Absolutely impeccable craftsmanship from Scott, cannot fault a single thing he's touched! We get so many compliments on our house from passer-bys these days and it is hugely thanks to him! Scott is an honest tradesman who takes time to understand what needs to be done, but he's also got a wealth of experience and is happy to suggest ways things should be done, too. Scott also helped to recommended other tradesmen for the work that he can't do himself. Let me tell you, every person that he recommended has done well! So as long as we live in Sutton Coldfield, we'll be going back to Scott if anything else needs doing. PS: To the person who's left one star review. Sorry you missed on having Scott doing some work on your house! He really is very busy and when your quote slipped through, he was very busy with all that work that was being done on our house. This, however, shouldn't warrant a one star review, as it isn't a reflection of Scott's actual craftsmanship, which what these reviews should be about! Thanks!

Scott came to do some panelling, build a bespoke cupboard and fit a ceiling rose. His workmanship is excellent. My living room is transformed! He listened to exactly what I wanted, was incredibly reliable and communicated well. He even worked late until the job was done! Wonderful service! I would definitely recommend him and his company.

Simar designs done a wonderful job in my bed room using the best materials for my money and also having good communication for a business they also have the best finishes on the materials really do recommend !!!

Chet re-fitted two doors for us that had not fitted for some time. He arrived on time and completed the job with the minimum of fuss, he was also very tidy and managed not to leave any wood chippings behind. We would use him again.

Chet has just finished 5 doors at our home. It’s an older place where nothing is straight or simple. His attention to detail and care in fitting the doors was exemplary. Chet turned our old airing cupboard into a neat & useful space. As usual, he is meticulous, regularly consulting with me as he progressed. We called CGT in the early hours of Sunday morning after the door to my daughters flat was kicked in. Reuben advised us of the price and how long it would take him to get there. Oz has done several jobs for us including a new garden gate, putting up a picture rail and fixing some doors that were sticking or the handles didn't work. His work is always solid and high quality, would highly recommend.

Oz built some custom shelves for us for the living room. He is friendly and very knowledgeable. Oz is transparent and fair with how he prices, and sticks to his schedule. We will use Oz again, as we need a custom shelving unit for our upstairs office.

Phil fitted some stunning alcove cabinets in our hallway. We are over the mood with the work. Phil was punctual and reliable and the finish is wonderful. Could not be happier. He's coming back next year to do some more work for us....!!!!

I cannot recommend Philip enough from start to finish for fitting my entire kitchen. When Philip first came to look at my house and when we first met, he was on time and an extremely nice genuine person. He made lots of ideas and suggestions to improve on my plans using his knowledge and experiences. Although I had a fairly large kitchen, I was actually on a tight budget. Philip’s quote arrived on time and was "extremely" favourable in comparison to two other quotes I received. He took great care to protect my new oak floor. Each day the house was left clean and tidy. He was extremely reliable and 100% trustworthy. Philips attention to detail was excellent and I couldn't fault anything he did. My entire kitchen looks STUNNING ! And to say I am delighted with him workmanship is an understatement. As soon as I have saved up, I would like Philip to return and make me a treehouse and other projects.....he is that good....

Phil has recently completed the most beautiful set of 4 fitted bookcases with cupboards below and a cupboard across the bay window. We are thrilled! Phil developed a design based on our basic needs and the finished effect is amazing: he has such good aesthetic sense and attention to detail. He is tidy and considerate and goes the extra mile: he offered to do our skirting boards too so that the fit with the cupboards is immaculate. Would definitely ask Phil back. And a thoroughly nice man as well as being a highly talented professional; a great experience! (Will add photos later)

If you’re thinking of having Phil undertake carpentry at your house please do not hesitate. He is a consummate professional, excellent at his craft and on top of that a really friendly bloke. We wanted a bespoke staircase fitted in our home, modelled on the original 1960s open tread staircase, and Phil did an excellent job (see photos). He worked so hard to make the staircase practical and beautiful and we have had so many comments on how beautiful it is. We would happily use Phil again and recommend him to friends and family.

Craig was excellent. He was responsive when I enquired and a professional throughout. We needed some skirting boards fitted and doors shaved, we're very happy with the outcome. Will definitely use again and recommend to others.

Rafa did a good job fitting a dado rail and skirting for me. He was able to do the work at short notice and to a good standard. He managed my expectations well and kept me informed with progress. I will be contacting him again in future for more work.

Rafa and team worked wonders on my kitchen. They replaced an old work surface with solid oak, fitted a wall cupboard and created a bespoke solution to cover my unsightly boiler pipes. Good communication throughout, adaptable and competitively priced. They took care to keep things clean and tidy too, putting down dust overs and hoovering after finishing the job. I am delighted with the finish and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

All we can say is what an amazing person is Rafa from RRJ carpentry his work is Absolutely amazing and explains everything from start to finish. His carpentry skill are A**** and would recommend to anyone wanting work done . I cannot recommend Caine highly enough. He is the politest, hardest working, and tidiest builder I have ever met. We always knew that the renovation work we were undertaking was going to throw up some surprises, but Caine was able to deal with them all. Since we didn't know the full extent of the problems before he started, he was very helpful in giving a range of prices, depending on what might need doing (although reality was far worse than any of us expected). He fully consulted with us each time we found a new problem, and kept us informed on what was happening. I hope to get Caine back to do the next phase of work on my property, sometime next year.

Caine was brilliant! We have an old house and much of the woodwork needed fixing. Caine has replaced both functional and decorative pieces with enormous skill (he rebuilt the decorative apex in the photo completely). He has high standards and won't rest until it's right. Definitely recommend.

Caine and his team have recently completed a renovation to our house, removing a suspended ceiling, rerouted pipe work, overhauled electrics, installed a new ceiling and plastered to an extremely high standard. The level of workmanship was outstanding, each day site was left clean and tidy, all tools neatly stacked safely. Given the work we had done, mess was minimal. It's not easy to find a builder who is as trustworthy, polite and reliable as Caine and his team. Any obstacles that Caine came across during the renovation were tackled with great solutions and ideas. To coin his phrase... Solutions not problems! Even after the renovation has been completed, we keep in touch. We would highly recommend his services and we will certainly be using Caine and his team again for any future work! Caine and his team did a great job renovating our house - fitting doors, new fitted wardrobes, fitting a new oven etc. They turned up on time, tidied up after themselves and were extremely polite and professional. Fitting of a large fully integrated Wren kitchen. We engaged Jon through a 3rd party and have been very, very impressed with his skills and adaptability during a very challenging large kitchen configuration. What is particularly impressive is his highly skilled joinery experience and can do attitude when he hits problems during the fitting. He reviews plans and isn’t afraid to point out flaws and or design mistakes, working with you to overcome them to give you the ideal finish. He thinks through each task at each stage to ensure an accurate and quality piece of completed work. I would highly recommend him for any joinery work, fitting and or general property maintenance work, in fact we are using him again on something else!

Jon fitted my kitchen recently and did an excellent professional job. He turned up on time every day, and gave good advice about various jobs. So good in fact that I asked him to fit new decking and other jobs that needed doing! I would certainly highly recommend him to anyone wanting a professional friendly service. 11/10.
