Doug's Dog House t/a The Pup Cup Limited

Super impressed! We visited the pup cup cafe today with a family members dog we were looking after (although, I wouldn't wait till you have a dog with you, because anyone can go in for food or a coffee!). The owner was really lovely and inviting, and explained that we could sit in any of the 3 beautifully decorated dog themed rooms that were spread across 3 floors. We chose the top floor, and was treated to comfy seating, and everything we needed for our meal. Even better (so the dog would say!) was a box full of dog toys, fresh water, treats and a secure place to tether your pooch, should you want to keep them close while you're eating. For lunch, we had the best paninis we've ever eaten and the most delicious fresh fruit smoothies (ask for the Pina colada!) and not forgetting the pooch, who had a fresh cream treat, especially for dogs. Would I recommend this cafe? Absolutely. And we will be going back soon, minus the dog 😊

We visited The Pup Cup dog cafe in Tonbridge yesterday lunchtime with our black lab, Bo, and had the most wonderful experience! We enjoyed an iced coffee, cappuccino, and a delicious blueberry, banana, and strawberry smoothie, along with three tasty paninis. Bo was thrilled with his puppy-chino too! The staff were incredibly friendly and clearly have a genuine love for dogs, which made the visit even more special. The cafe itself is fantastic, with many differently decorated rooms that add a unique and charming touch. We were so impressed that we’ll definitely be back! On top of all this, I accidentally left my keys at the cafe, and I was so grateful that they had found them and kept them safe for me to collect the next day. I can't thank The Pup Cup enough for their honesty and kindness—you are truly a credit to Tonbridge!

We have visited The Pup Cup today for the first time to celebrate the birthday of our tiny dog Nala. It was an amazing experience! There are lovely cakes (also some gluten free) and coffees available for humans. We also bought 'pup cup' (sort of a whipped cream suitable for dogs) for Nala. She loved it! There is also a shop in the building to buy accessories for your loved one(s).

This was a lovely first experience. Welcoming friendly atmosphere, super food and great coffee. Prices are comparable to other well known coffee shops. The ambience is wonderful, dogs are well catered for, actually having own blankets, treats and water. The building is grade 2 listed, with loads of atmosphere but very small. However, well worth the visit. Thank you Pup Cup for a great experience.

We had a lovely and very tasty breakfast at Jels Cafe. The milkshake was amazing. The staff are all nice and friendly and happily provided a bowl of water for our puppy. We sat outside under the awning and enjoyed our food. Would recommend.

I came in for lunch with family I hadn't seen in a while as we'd heard good things about Jel's Cafe. A good number of options to choose from, I had a large English breakfast and a sanpellegrino lemon, whereas everyone else had jacket potatoes. I got hash browns and black pudding as extra as it didn't come as standard, but the meal still was reasonably priced. My aunt commented saying the jacket potato was the best one she's ever had outside of home cooking, so will be back to try that myself!

Can’t go wrong with the cutest and occasionally cuddliest cats. Such a great atmosphere and chatty staff. Highly recommend the top cat hot chocolate, as long as you finish it before the cats try to eat it! đŸ± Very affordable for an hour in the best company 🐈

Paws cat cafe has always been really good when I've visited. Plenty of cats (the most important part!), lovely staff and straight forward cafe style food. The cafe is laid out well for photography, comfy and there's never been any rush to leave bang on an hour. As of 2024, ÂŁ10 gets you in and a drink. I feel this is fair value. Probably best to book but I've always been lucky with walk in appointments. I do visit outside of school time. It's a brilliant place to spend a relaxing quiet hour and I'd would recommend the cafe to anyone who enjoys cat company.

A lovely little cafe with the most adorable cats. The staff were super friendly and the hot drinks we had were absolutely delicious. The cats are all clearly very happy and well looked after and a couple came and sat on our laps and interacted with us. A great price for a cute afternoon treat. Would recommend.

One of the best, most chilled cat cafes I've been to. Having a restrained amount of people on at one time is clearly good for the cats, who are very sociable and relaxed around people. Much better than busier cafes where cats tend to hide from too many people or too much noise. Reservations required and food is simple and well presented. Looking forward to going again!

What a lovely little cafe. Owner and staff are all very welcoming. The food i ordered was spot on, full english breakfast, bit pricey and a tea or coffee would be nice in the price but if you want a treat it's lovely. They use sausages made at the local butchers on the same parade, which were good. The service is quick and polite. It's all very, very clean still, and the toilet is immaculate. All in all, it's a very lovely little cafe and I would highly recommend 😊

Been here twice now! Food is always top notch and fresh. Meat is straight out of the butchers next door and everything is cook to order. I had Mary's Almighty breakfast on my first visit and struggled to finish it (so big) and on my second visit I had Eggs Royale. The hollandaise sauce was made from scratch in house. Delicious!

I had an absolutely delicious toasted bacon and cheese sandwich which was full as opposed to the usual 'lick and promise' one gets in many places. The strawberry milkshake was the best I've had in years. The prices were right on too. They also had lovely looking cakes on display but I was too full for that. I'm going to invite friends to meet me there for coffee and cake - it's a lovely spot, with dedicated owners and friendly staff. It was yummy that I forgot to take photos - I will next time!

Seems to be the only cafe in Hildenborough. I love the vibe of a local place in its lovely light olive green decor. Staff is helpful and at ease, and I felt relaxed enjoying my lunch. Food and drink are good overall, and prices lower than Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells, which is a plus and I come here quite often even I am not a local resident.

I've been wanting to visit here for some time, but hadn't got around to it, I'm glad I did and will not leave it long before revising, it is a lovely cafe. The space outside to take our little dog was excellent. Service was certainly with a smile, but the food hits the spot. Toasted falafel and humus wrap was lovely but the Super Strawberry milkshake a glorious indulgent treat. Not just a treat for us but we also noted a group of workmen tucking into some breakfast baps and the bacon and egg varieties did look delicious. It is great to have a place like this in Hildenborough, clearly popular and deserved so.

The Bakehouse at 124

124 High St, Tonbridge TN9 1AS, UK | Bakery
P: 01732 360382

Rating: 4.5 (233) Price Level:

I have to give the Bakehouse 5 stars for their bread alone: their wholemeal and their light rye are (very consistently) the best sourdough I've had: excellent flavour, fluffy texture and a crispy, chewy crust. What is disappointing is that I can't eat more of their bread: they're only open until 2:30pm, 4 days a week (and not on Sunday) and they sell out of bread most days.

Anonymous - a year ago

Rating: 5 / 5

Authentic and cosy, The Bakehouse is a lovely place to have a croissant with coffee or a tasty sourdough bread with poached eggs. Probably the most delicious sourdough I have ever had. Their espresso is impressively good. A few charging points for the laptop professionals are available on the 1st floor. If you visit Tonbridge, I would definitely recommend breakfast at The Bakehouse at 124.

A nice chill place for meet-ups and coffee. Unfortunately, there were no vegan or dairy-free options for savoury dishes (and for sweet-only a slice of fruit loaf which they said was milk-free), so I had a bag of crisps with my friends while they had nice toasties and cake for lunch. Would go again for coffee though.
