The Best Cafes in New Romney, Kent, United Kingdom (2025)

I made my first visit to the cafe today on recommendation from my partner. Overall a good experience. Service quality, speed and courtesy all 100%. Environment was clean and well structured and functional. We ordered an egg snd bacon baguette which was tops and something I would buy next time. I had the steak and kidney pie with mash and veg/gravy. I expected it to be a slice of a home made pie but tasted more like a shop one. The pastry was hard/tough around the edges and inside was typical mass produced. Unfortunately the mass produced pies always give me indigestion so will bear that in mind next visit and try something different. Tea was a good strength and hit chocolate fine too.

Really liked this cafe. Went twice in one day as we were flying at Lydd. Its very biker friendly but there were families in there , including a birthday breakfast party. Lovely atmosphere food was excellent and very very reasonable. Will be back

Proper cafe.. food was amazing, really hot and freshly cooked. staff very helpful and welcoming. Good size breakfast for a reasonable price. Plenty of parking around the back of the cafe. I will definitely return when I'm back that area! I really recommend this cafe

Lovely place to eat,either breakfast or "brunch".Always get my rolls there,with the staff being so friendly and polite,a credit to the owners,Sarah and Hannah.Long may they reign in New Romney with lovely fresh bread,sandwiches and cakes!

What a gem. Sadly we only discovered this little cafe on the penultimate day of our holiday but we will certainly be back. The coffee is great and the cakes delicious. Friendly staff too. We felt very welcome 🙏

Top quality meals at very affordable prices. The café is kept clean and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. If you are in the area, then I highly recommend stopping here. I will definitely be returning at some point in the future. 🙂

Had a breakfast here, food was cooked perfectly, everywhere was very clean and staff friendly. Had to pop back the next day was so good!

My partner and I ate here as we wanted to grab a bit to eat whilst enjoying the sun and we were both stunned by the food. The chef has got his flavours absolutely nailed, everything tasted amazing and the dishes were the type that you’d expect at a high end restaurant. This being said, the prices were still very affordable and the portion sizes are generous - so much so that I walked in quite hungry and still couldn’t finish my plate. The only criticism I have is that we waited upwards of 20 minutes for our food, but I’m more than happy to look past this as it was very busy, the food was well worth the wait, and the staff were attentive and checked on us regularly. If you’re Kent based and haven’t checked this hidden gem out, please do!

We were staying next door and Coach House immediately felt like an extension of our cottage! Very friendly husband and wife team, great Greek influenced food (my chicken salad was fantastic), family friendly. Also good breakfast options, we had coffee and cake and just regret not being able to try more options!

Full marks for our lunch today at The Coach House, celebrating a friend's birthday. We were a mixed group of diners, including two vegans and a vegetarian, and although this isn't a dedicated veggie menu, we each found a delicious and well-cooked choice from the pitta menu - two falafel and one halloumi, both served with salad and incredibly tasty seasoned chips. Our server was very attentive, and the chef came out personally to check that we were all happy and that the food was good. Very reasonably priced, and a decent drinks list. Thank you Coach House, we will be back soon! 🙂

Very spacious and comfy place for a coffee. The staff is really helpful. If you are lucky you might get parking in the street.

As of Wednesday 26th August 2020 Costa is open until 17:00 although the official Costa App says 16:00. Very friendly staff and it was nice and quiet when we were there so no problem finding somewhere quiet to sit.

OK so it's a referbished pub. However, it still looks like an old pub inside, dated and definitely not modern. This could be to fit in with the surrounding area I suppose but it wasn't to my taste. We did find parking on a side road but I've been told that this is rare. The service was brilliant and the two girls were all smiles and polite. We ordered hot chocolates and they tasted delightful. Unfortunately the toilet was not in the best condition and with just one, I don't really think the place could deal with lots of customers at once. I wouldnt want to visit again but if you want a take away Costa with impeccable service, this is a Costa to visit.

I just want to thank the lady again who really gave myself& my client exceptional service, while I was working as a support worker. I did ask for your name however I have forgotten. But I did not forget how amazing you were on Saturday! We came in and out a couple of times to use the facilities and grab a tea/coffee, and everytime you had a massive smile on your face, and was helpful, chatty. I forgot my card and you gave me a free latte. So to the brown-haired, beautiful lady who was working a couple of days ago you are a credit to your team and to the community. PS sorry for the bad photo of you but you made our day special.
