Cute and well priced coffee shop located at the top of the Margare High Street- truly the hidden gem of the town. Excellent quality of coffee run by two very nice and welcoming fellas, you can tell they care about the place, customers and coffee. The food is good quality for a quick bite to eat. They know the perfect time to extract that coffee bean!

Really lovely cafe at the absolute top of the high street. A tiny bit off the beaten track at the top of the high street. Walls adorned ( as wallpaper effect) with actual (it appeared) hessian coffee sacks with different bespoke brands of coffee / single roasts. Items for sale displayed everywhere Attention to detail was really great, the cake offered warm and with butter etc etc. Place had a nice relaxed vibe and a friendly welcome. Coffee was nice, everyone says it is, as was the toastie. Mulled wine and mince pies too!, but it was 1030am... Definitely worth a walk a bit further up the high street. Great place.

Well this place is adorable. Plants and cute little vintage items you can buy, as well as a nice menu. The smoothies were good-super fresh tasting, and the cheese and onion toasty came with a great side salad. I'm glad we stumbled upon this place and I would recommend. Their jacket potato menu looked quite extensive and I bet there's something for everyone.

Who wouldn’t want to eat brunch on a bus with a sea view? We were lucky to get a seat on the top deck just as someone was leaving (booking definitely recommended at weekends!) the weather wasn’t particularly summery but this place had a lovely vibe and great food to match. Definitely high end for a bus!

Yes definitely not bad breakfast. In fact, excellently cooked breakfast in awesome atmosphere! Place is very clean (I was surprised how clean I don’t know why!) Service super friendly. There were one friendly lady serving and two chefs cooking! Wow! In such a small bus they squeezed Michelin Star experience! Food is art. All fresh and easily digestible. With fresh kimchi and heavenly methods of cooking their eggs.. Food was digested in my mouth lol Thank you so much!

Visited here on Sunday. One of the best breakfasts I’ve had out we had ‘The hangover’. Staff were super friendly. Nice view of the sea.

Didn’t come to eat - I was slightly taken by surprise to walk into a bustling hipster cafe - but to gorge on the second-hand vinyl. An absolutely fantastic collection of mostly mainstream music on two floors. Blonde on Blonde £20, a rarely seen Nanci Griffith later release £20, another Dylan (Knocked Out Loaded) £9, Sting’s first solo album £5. The vinyl is provided by Ghost Papa, a record shop across the road. Next time I’ll make time for brunch/lunch too. A thrilling discovery.

Great place for breakfast. The meaty is delicious and a big portion. Very fresh and so tasty!! The coffee is also great. Friendly and welcoming staff. The perfect place to bring a dog or sit and relax with a book. The downstairs is abit more crowded now that you can’t use upstairs but there is a nice sofa by the window.

Went in for breakfast and had a vegan crumpet slider, which was great. Lots of vegan options. Really nice coffee too. Great service and a nice atmosphere.

This place is 10/10. Service = phenomenal. Super affordable and actually quite cheap for what you’re paying for. Atmosphere is homely with a separated area for working so that part of downstairs is more social. Great decor, great playlist. We both ordered the kimchi hash special. The really did the Korean influence justice (saying this as an East Asian person who has eaten too many minimal effort whitewashed token use of Asian ingredients in restaurants). Straight up delicious. They also take payment on order so it’s great if you need to rush off after. Breakfast and drink totalled to around £9 per person including an extra sausage added on for each of us

Quite possibly the greatest veggie burger I've ever had, made and served by the loveliest team who customised and cooked it just how I asked. It honestly made years of disappointing 'spicy bean burger' meals worth it. The place should have a queue at its doors.

This is a proper greasy spoon with faded formica tables and vinyl chairs. The food was really good and arrived quickly. I had a big breakfast but want to try their mega breakfast at some point. It's £28 and if you finish it you end up on the wall of fame. If you finish it in under 20 minutes it's free. Staff were friendly and the place was clean. It just had a cool vibe too. Almost like a timewarp to when cafes were actually cafes and not weird hipster places with avocado toast. I'd recommend this place to friends and family.

Wow proper full English breakfast. The guys are really friendly here with great service. They know what they are doing and are running great traditional cafe. Cleared my plate can’t wait to come back.

So pleased I came here. Our dog was made very welcome and given some lovely biscuits. Staff were excellent, very friendly and informative. We only had a drink and a sandwich but what a sandwich it was! Butternut Squash at its best. I haven't had a sandwich that good in ages. Thank you everyone at the Margate Coffee Shed.

Nice coffee shop with great atmosphere, they service in and outside. I must say, being portuguese, I had some portuguese custard pies here that put some of ours to shame. Loved it.!

We had the most fabulous brunch in Forts and will definitely visit again next time we visit Margate. We had scrambled eggs with portobello mushrooms with mushroom gravy on sourdough toast, scrambled eggs with sausage and chimichurri plus one sweet tooth diner had the rhubarb cake with custard...and coffees were superb. Absolutely fantastic and we loved the ambience, lovely servers and experience. Looking forward to our next visit. Thank you everyone at Forts.

The best brunch spot! Wow wow wow, the Korean chicken focaccia sandwich is insanely good. The team at Forts are so friendly and super welcoming of us with our dog, which is always appreciated! Excited to return again and again!

Always come to Forts when visiting Margate. It’s our go to for good coffee- their iced oat lattes in particular. Amazing food too, this time we had the French toast and garlic mushrooms and scrambled egg both perfect. Great vibes and views to the sea!

Can never fault a trip to Forts. Even when busy you get incredible service - I should know, I used to work in hospitality. There were 2 particularly lovely waitresses and they made our brunch even more enjoyable. Thank you Zara, Tuppy, and Joey for being so amazing

Having seen the reviews, we visited on a Saturday lunch time. The upstairs seating area was busy and a little loud but we had plenty of room and could still enjoy a chat. The food was superb. I had the Big Greedy burger (without tortilla chips) and my partner had the house burger. He was a bit worried that there we no chips on the Menu but we didn't miss them. We shared a side of huge hash browns and nachos. The burgers were amazing, and the sides and salads really tasty. Service was quick and friendly. Fab little restaurant for lunch and they had veggie and vegan options too. I'll definitely be back. Thanks guys!

Really interesting options on the menu, including for the vegetarian in our party. Outdoor seating is great in the sun! Coffee was good. Would definitely recommend.

I had the Falafel salad with added halloumi and others had hamburger. The combination of the ingredients in the salad was very tasty and the sourdough slices were toasted and buttered. The burger meat is amazin, i had a small bite from the burger after my better half said it is simply one of the best burgers he had! That says something. Thanks for being amazing, we'll be back! And the weather was yood so we sat outside where the atmosphere is quite chilled and warm

Lovely cafe with great food. I had the house burger, which comes with pulled pork, sausage & bacon, which was a really good burger and comes with a delicious apple and celery coleslaw. My mum had the falafel and hummus which comes with a variety of other sides and she loved that too. The waitress was great, efficient and not pushy. We would definitely be back.
