Me and my husband celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary with a 3-nights stay at this wonderful and charming hotel in the Peak District. Dan and the team, sorry can't remember all your names, were so friendly and welcoming, even helping us out when the first table offered on the Saturday night wasn't ideal and we were quickly moved to a better one. Dan's enthusiasm for the beautiful area he lives in is infectious. His suggestions for great walks were most welcome along with the use of the hotel's Garmins. The food is freshly cooked and delicious, you need a good day's walking after the generous full English breakfast. Great choice of wines. Thanks Dan and Co
A wonderful place to stay and/or eat. Lovely setting a short drive from major tourist areas, friendly, welcoming staff, beautiful room with large 4 poster bed & private balcony, and excellent food! What more could anyone wish for?!!
I can't comment on staying in the rooms here, however the food in the restaurant has always been absolutely phenomenal. Quality of food is some of the best I've ever tasted and the service has always been top notch. Big well done to all of the staff for creating a brilliant and comfortable atmosphere for people to dine and drink in. One of the easiest recommendations I'll ever make, I'm constantly telling friends and family about this place. Keep up the amazing work!
Excellent, stayed one night here and loved it. The Old Hall is beautiful, really feels like you’ve stepped back in time. The food was incredible and at reasonable prices, the fish and chips was especially good! Sadly they didn’t have two of the deserts we had wanted from the menu but the trifle we eventually settled on was very nice! Only downside was the room didn’t feel super clean, few hairs, cobwebs etc, especially in the old basin (Room 5!). Service in terms of the staff was brilliant too.
Great Stay in a Lovely Location! We had a really enjoyable stay at The Old Mill Inn in Chinley. The inn has a lot of charm and character, with clean, comfortable rooms and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our visit, making us feel right at home. The location is ideal if you’re into walking or exploring the outdoors. There are some fantastic hikes nearby—Kinder Scout, Mam Tor, and the Edale Valley are all within easy reach and offer stunning views. It’s the perfect base for exploring the Peak District. We also found the food to be excellent, with a great selection of drinks in the cosy pub downstairs—just what you need after a day out walking. Definitely worth noting: you’ll get better rates if you book directly with the inn. All in all, a lovely spot that we’d happily return to.
