Visited on 1st April 2025 with my boyfriend after walking from New Mills to Marple and back to New Mills. We were exhausted and looked quite shabby, but Nicki and Nick gave us the most fantastic service despite our attire. The food was phenomenal, I’ve been living in Manchester since 2020 and this is the best Sicilian food I’ve ever had! We were going to order more food but had to rush to catch the train back. I would travel to New Mills simply to come back and dine here again. The only miss for me was the cocktail, I ordered something that was supposed to have rose tequila but somehow I could only taste overpowering vodka (I personally don’t like the taste of vodka), but the food was so good that it didn’t even matter. Thank you Nicki, Nick and the chef for an amazing and memorable anniversary. Will definitely come back, 10/10 experience
Finally visited A Tavola on Friday evening after wanting to visit for a while. Firstly upon walking in, the statement was deposited so nicely, a really ‘Nonna’s kitchen vibe’ .. Non of this stuck up, fancy restaurant nonsense! Our waitress was so nice, we were really unsure and undecided what to order, we told her our options and she talked us through them with such passion for the food, you could tell she really loved her job! The food was absolutely delicious, one of the most authentic Sicilian meals I’ve ever had! We also tried the pistachio liquor (divine) we then got free shots of lemoncello at the end! We drove from Altrincham to New Mills, it was worth it! Unlike most meals I eat out for, I usually drink a litre of water throughout the night due to the overuse of salt - This didn’t happen! Utterly fabulous! I can’t wait to go back!
Had a lovely Christmas Eve dinner. The place was packed, however it still felt friendly, homely and had a nice vibe. The staff work very hard and are friendly and really looked after us. The food was amazing. Simple but well done and tasty. Portions are very generous. We had the nduja and mozzarella arancino and spring onions in pancetta to start, Followed by prawns and porchetta and a cannoli to finish.
Phenomenal food and very friendly service. We really enjoyed our meals and will definitely visit again. Very fortunate to have this place on the doorstep!
Absolutely the best! The attention to quality is on another level, we have been countless times and always had a wonderful time and left with our bellies full. I’m Italian so I can hard to please when it comes to food :D the wine list also deserves a special mention! thank you Nicky and Alessio for creating such a warm, welcoming atmosphere, a presto!
