Love this place. Great for walkers, very dog friendly. Large menu plus delicious daily specials, always including a vegetarian option. Save room for the homemade tray baked, and don't forget to buy a homemade pie to take home. Friendly staff .

A regular work-from-home day coffee (and cake) leg stretch but this week added a pie and a cheeky lunchtime drink. All superbly served and available indoors or on covered tables outside. Still good in the height of summer, a cool spot for a snack stop on thr Sett Valley Trail.

Fabulous and extremely popular cafe with a very good menu. The hot drink selection is vast and the food is all fresh and local produce. The staff are really pleasant and nothing is too much trouble. They do get very busy, with only a few seated areas inside, but plenty of room outside in a covered area. The cafe is muddy boot and dog friendly which is always a bonus! I highly recommend the homemade pies 🥧 😋

Sett Valley Cafe was a delightful little stop on our afternoon drive. It’s a cozy place with a few tables and a bathroom inside. Outside, there are various seating options to suit your preferences. They have a great selection of hot and cold food and drinks. The staff were super friendly and took our order right away. They brought our food to our table when it was ready, which was really thoughtful. The food and the driver were both excellent. It made for a really pleasant afternoon. Definitely worth the stop!

I'd give six stars if I could! Had 2 very nice coffees, cheese on toast and the chef very kindly gave us a FREE 'prototype' bagel with bacon, maple syrup and cream cheese! It was heavenly! I absolutely love this cafe!!!! Also super dog friendly!

I called for an urgent installation of a new cooker, after my old gas hobs abandoned me. This was a non standard installation, because the cooker was a different size of the previous one and needed to fit between two units of my kitchen, which needed to be moved. I am very happy with the job - they have been responsive, organised, punctual and very reliable. I will definitely call them again in the future for small and big projects in my house!

Excellent work. Everyone turned up on time, never missed a day and did an exceptional job! They were all very friendly as well. It's hard to find hard working labourers these days who want to do any work, so they were a breath of fresh air. Will be using again 🙂

We wanted an extension to the existing fence in a slatted contemporary style. After the initial visit to property to measure, Stuart arrived on the agreed date and two days later, gave us exactly what we wanted. Highly recommended and a job well done. Thanks lads.

We had very nice cake and coffee/ hot chocolate in here after a six mile walk. I really enjoyed the Christmas themed fruit loaf. Quite a relaxed atmosphere and it seems that the locals obviously like it as well, as a few were on today.

Its a really nice cafe with great coffees and food. I don't think they still do it but once i went and they had this excellent spicy panini. I haven't been here for lunch in a while but I would highly reccommend coming here.

First time visiting the Twig Coffee shop in Chapel, which I think has fairly recently changed ownership. It's not a large space but it's nice, relaxed and clean with bench seating in parts. Serving tea, coffees, toasties, sandwiches, cakes, and pastries. My cappuccino was excellent; good flavour. I liked how the staff sanitised the tables after every customer. Dog friendly, too. Will call in again. Good luck with your business.

Beautiful premises, love the decor and the choice of sandwiches & paninis is very good. Delicious tea, coffee & cake. Friendly, welcoming staff. Would come back next time I'm in the peak district. Took an hour detour from Stockport back to West midlands to come here on a whim and very happy with the decision.

Really tasty cakes and good quality drinks. Staff were lovely and made my little girl a 'puppachino' with sprinkles on. It's dog friendly too which is great, however it's very small so when there are a lot of customers and dogs it can feel quite stifling.

I had an absolutely wonderful time at the bird cafe over the weekend. We were lucky enough to get a window seat and were able to watch the birds and squirrels feeding which was very entertaining! Delicious coffee and cookie and wonderful food. The new owners are very friendly and welcoming and I can’t wait to see what they do with the place. We will definitely be returning.

I still can't believe I had no idea this gem existed until recently. This was my second visit and my new favourite cafe. The food is delicious, the staff are so friendly and welcoming and of course the views are unbeatable! Such a gem and only half an hour drive from where we are in Sheffield. I found out that has recently changed hands and I got to meet the new owners (who are also so lovely). There have already been changes made between the first time I visited and today and I much prefer the décor! I can't wait to see the progress of this wonderful place.

Had a lovely lunch stop today at the bird cafe! Food was fresh and delicious. This place has a wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff. And of course seeing the visiting birds up close by the window makes it a truly unique cafe. Would give more than 5 stars if i could. Definitely recommend and returning again!

arrived 12:15pm on wednesday, plenty of free tables available. the breakfast menu is finished 11:30am. the lunch menu is not comprehensive, the additional meals are on special menu broad. the beef lasagne was delicious. the cheese leek quiche is good but the whole dish was rather small. the bread and butter pudding was not baked in custard, it came with custard. if you want to watch birds, select table by window unfortunately, only few tables are located by the window.

I visited Tideswell Lounge while out on a bike ride in the Peak District yesterday (02.08.2024). A lovely small village Bistro type place with a warm atmosphere inside and an excellent shaded seating area outside. Or if you're not fussy and want to take in the vibes of the village like me you can just sit on the wall. The selection of meals available was spot on. Personally I was in dire need of a piece of cake. I chose the Coffee & Walnut, it was delicious. The place is pristine, quirky but trendy and modern set in an exceptionally beautiful old stone built town. The staff were very friendly, chatty and helpful. It's a family owned business with all hands on board. I was lucky enough to meet and talk to Andy the owner and his son. This wasn't a planned visit I was looking for somewhere to top up my water bottles and have a minute. I'm very glad I found the lounge. I can highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. Especially cyclists for their coffee and cake top up! There's plenty of room outside to keep an eye on your pride and joy. 5 stars from me and I will definitely be going back. 😊👍

Stayed in the village for a long weekend and popped in a couple of times. The first for takeaway coffee which was delicious, and the cafe looked very inviting and welcomed dogs, so we went back for breakfast on our last day. The bacon and sausage baps were brimming, and my husband had a full english. I opted for a teacake trying to be good and avoiding the very tempting crossaints and cakes. Highly recommend if in the area.

It is a lovely little café with the best staff and extraordinary food! I also told them my partner had birthday and they prepared with a candle for him! Lovely surprise ❤️ We had cappuccinos, full english breakfast and a smashed avocado toast with halloumi on top, everything was delicious!

Wonderful find. Jo and her team made this small but perfectly lovely cafe a really special visit. Everything was delicious, the toasties were somehow so much better than the usual cafe fare, I think it was the high quality bread and ingredients. The puddings and custard were also excellent, we had the Bakewell pudding and the rhubarb and apple tart, both with (just howI like it, not too runny) custard. Excellent. Finally thanks Jo, you couldn't have made us feel more welcome! Best cafe I've been to for a long time, you can see why it won best Derbyshire cafe this year!

Great food and service and dog friendly! We found a lot of the cafes in Bakewell were not dog friendly. Even though this cafe is small they welcome dogs and even offer them a blanket to lay on. The food is home made and good value too.

We love this pub. Whatever time of the year, it is perfect to sit beside the river. The food is excellent and a great choice of craft ales.(shame I was driving). The Anglers Rest is a hidden gem and off the beaten track. Get directions via Google maps, etc, because it isn't a pub that you would normally stumble across. It is the sort of pub that you would wish to be snowed in😊🍻🥘🍳🍛🍺🍹🍽🍴

Beautifull atmospheric pub...full of history. Had fantastic meals tonight at really good prices, cooked to perfection! The ploughmans....wow! Filling isnt the word ( doggy bag a must!)....well done ALL at the Anglers! A must for a visit or to eat in...loved it👍

My boyfriend and I stayed here on NYE to get away from the city. It went above and beyond our expectations. There was a huge amount of attention to detail from little treats left in the room to complimentary drinks for NYE to a parking plaque with my name on. The room itself was modern, luxurious, the beds and pillows so comfy and the bath/bathroom was perfect. We had breakfast included which was also lovely. The surrounding area was gorgeous for hikes and getting away from the hustle and bustle. All the staff were absolutely lovely and incredibly helpful. It was one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in in the UK. Thanks so much - we will be back :).

Excellent hotel. Rooms modern and very spacious. Courtesy drink on arrival. Staff are excellent. Needed to charge my car but had a problem with the Charge point. The young girl who was working went above and beyond in the freezing conditions to help. The staff are a credit to the hotel. Will definitely stay again.

Where to start? The overall experience at the Merchant's Yard was excellent. The place has a fantastic atmosphere, with a nice bar area and a comfortable seating area, with table generously spaced. Personnel is very friendly and attentive, cannot fault them. We sat at the bar initially for a drink and the opportunity to browse the menu. Once we were ready our drinks were carried to the table, without even asking. We ordered scallops and duck breast as mains, both outstanding! Puddings, cheesecake and treacle tart, were equally delicious. Considering the quality of the food the price is extremely reasonable, and this applies also to the wine. I really do not know where the negative reviews are coming from. We will be back for sure!!!

We stopped in for a Sunday roast and are so glad we did. The welcome we received was professional, yet relaxed and friendly. The atmosphere is spot on, and the food was something else. We all opted for the roasted beef, and it did not disappoint. We will definitely be back, that's for sure. If I were to suggest anything to the venue, it would be to provide steak knives with the beef, just to make cutting the medium-rare meat that much easier. But we still loved everything and can't wait to go back.

A lovely cafe in Hartington, very popular with visitors and tourists. I had the soup, and my friend had a prawn sandwich; both good value. Very friendly and helpful staff, and some nice things to browse and buy in the shop. Highly recommended for a quick bite.

Fabulous tea room in such a cosy place. We went on a Saturday so it was pretty busy, we got some ice cream first which was delightful and then moved onto a Bakewell cake, coffee, hot chocolate and a cheese and pesto panini. As we turned up just after 3pm, they stopped serving hot food, however, they accommodated to us as we wanted a panini and the press was still on which was so lovely of them. Everything tasted fresh and flavourful. The staff were really accommodating and kind. There were little candles and honey/ gift bits which was a nice touch.

Cute little cafe, which also contains the village post office. As mentioned several times before, service was quite slow. We arrived at 2.30pm and were keen to order hot food before the 3pm cut off point. The cafe wasn’t busy (only one other table was occupied) but we had to wait for around 15 minutes before a staff member came to take our order. My daughter-in-law and I just wanted cakes, but my son wanted hot food, and the staff member questioned whether or not the kitchen was still open - which was when I pointed what was written on the menu, as well as the fact that we’d been waiting for 15 minutes to be acknowledged. She agreed and we ordered. I had the Apple Crumble with ice-cream and although it wasn’t the most aesthetically appealing dish, it was delicious. My son and daughter-in-law also enjoyed their food. Despite the slow service I would still visit here again. The staff member we spoke to was lovely, and I have no complaints about her at all. Maybe the kitchen was winding down (hence her initial response) but if we’d been served more rapidly our orders would have been in half an hour before the kitchen closes.

This is a really lovely Tea Room. We parked nearby and wandered in, past the beautiful entrance and the Queen Victoria postbox (the tea room also serves as the village post office). We were promptly welcomed and seated. The menu was really lovely, as was the food. The three of us really enjoyed the entire experience. So much so, we decided to top it off with ice cream!
