Excellent all round. Came to have my wedding nails done.First time coming to the salon and it was so relaxed and the atmosphere is lovely; you don’t feel like you have to engage in ‘chitchat’ if you don’t want to. Nelly did an excellent job; she is very attentive to detail and I got exactly what I asked for. Well worth the money I spent. Will definitely be back in the future!

I have been coming to The Strand ever since I moved back to the area 9 years ago. I have really flat, oily hair and so wanted a perm to give me curls and body so I initially saw the owner Rachel (who does perms there). Right from the consultation appointment I knew that I was in the best hands I wouldn’t ever go anywhere else. Rachel and her team are friendly, extremely knowledgeable and always take the time to make me and now my little girl feel really special and looked after. I also now regularly see Nelly based there for my nails who is also excellent and the best nail technician I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t ever trust anyone else now, it’s a home from home and would highly recommend them (as I have done many times). Thank you ladies for continuing to provide such an amazing experience.

Katie has been cutting, colouring and styling my hair for over 20 years. I would highly recommend Katie for her knowledge, advice, skill and friendliness. I have hair extensions with Katie and I get lots of compliments on them - you wouldn’t know the hair isn’t my own! I look forward to my appointment each time- we have a natter, whilst I sit in the welcoming salon with a cuppa, and I leave with hair that makes me smile.

The Salon at No 10, Mickleover (not to be confused with one of a similar name) is the best hairdressers, the staff are lovely, they take time to listen and talk with all their clients and go above and beyond with some. Not only that but they are fantastic hairdressers too Would recommend to anyone

Lavinia and her brilliant team at Blackbrook House will provide you with the most unique and intimate wedding experience possible. When it came to choosing our venue we didn't want any kind of out of the box experience, simply picking and choosing from different packages, be it food, drink or decor/theme. Being the food- and wine lovers we are, we wanted to be sure that none of our guests would be anything less than amazed. We also wanted advice and someone, who could take our ideas and transform them to perfection. Add to that, had we a house big enough, we would have loved to have a wedding at home - it was supposed to feel like our space on the day, and it did! Blackbrook House was the only venue that was prepared to take on this challenge and exceeded our expectations when delivering more than we could have ever wished for. The venue is warm, homely, welcoming and simply a lovely place to be. In the many meetings we had with Lavinia, she was always one step ahead of us in terms of how our ideas could work and be put into reality. The decor was simple and understated, yet stunning. Steve excelled at delivering a truly spectacular meal, which the whole wedding party loved sharing in and made the day both formal and comfortably casual at the same time. On your special day you need to feel certain, that everything will run smoothly and without haste. Kenny ensures exactly that. His team of servers are both omnipresent, yet nowhere to be seen. Finally - if anything should go not quite as planned on the day, the team behind will fix it! We could go on forever, but hopefully we have said enough!

Once you find Blackbrook House, you will never look back. After our first visit to Blackbrook House, and a few hours of relaxed wedding chat we were blown away by the staff and their warm and personal approach. We both felt so inspired and excited, it was an easy decision, this was definitely where we were going to get married! Blackbrook House is a gorgeous Victorian house surrounded by rolling green hills. What has especially impressed us is the homely and warm welcome we have received every time we have stepped through it's front doors. You can tell Lavinia and her staff genuinely care about what they do, maybe because it's a family business run by a dedicated and creative team. We also loved the fact that the house was ours for the day. Blackbrook House is such a stark contrast to many of the venues we visited previously. Throughout the planning stages there were no packages to deal with, everything was bespoke, we even had a meeting and a tasting session with their clever chef and what a treat that was! All of our crazy Danish traditions were welcomed and matched with creative and colourful ideas and lots of special Blackbrook details. Our wedding day was just unforgettable and perfect in every way! No words can ever be enough to thank Lavinina, Kenny, Faye and Jo. We have made some great friends and look forward to Lee's big birthday coming up, which will definitely be celebrated in style at Blackbrook!

Had an amazing curl experience with Georgia! After struggling to find a stylist with the knowledge to work with curly hair in derby, I was so grateful when Sally approached me and let me know about the new curl service her salon was offering. I learnt so much about my curls and Georgia ensured I was using my Only Curls products correctly, teaching me new techniques. Would recommend to all- whether you’re just finding your curls or an expert in your routine. Will definitely be back for my maintenance cut!

I can't recommend Redwood Joinery enough!! I had my extension roof in West Bridgford installed by them, it was a tricky connection to the existing roof but Anthony and his team were very knowledgable and were able to do it. From start to finish communication, punctuality and standard of work was excellent! Highly recommend

It’s not easy finding a reliable contractor and when I was looking for someone in the area and Redwood Joinery was recommended to me it was a life saver. First phone call was very quick and simple with a quick discussion on what I needed doing and then a survey was arranged. Got the quotation for the work soon after the survey and the changes I asked for were accommodated for with all material and labour costs discussed before I gave the final godhead with the work. Extremely happy to have worked with Redwood and can see why they were recommended to me. Very happy with the work and service throughout the project.

We have had multiple fire door manufactures over the years but I must say the quality of the doorsets provided by Michael Pepper Joinery Ltd is impressive. Not only that the support received from the office staff to meet timescales on our projects has been fantastic. I personally have worked in the Passive Fire Industry for 15-20 years and i would highly recommend getting in touch if you want top quality doorsets.

During the renovation of a Grade II listed house, we had to replace all 26 internal doors with like for like, within 4 weeks ! Josh Pepper was amazing at suggesting the best hardwood material and way forward to copy the doors exactly, including a specific trim moulding which he had a new tool made for. All fitted first time and came primed ready for top coat. Since installation (18 months) none have moved, cracked or binded. Great product, great updates during manufacture and a very happy Conservation Team who have complimented us on the doors.

We at Mark 1 Fire have been using the services of Michael Pepper Joinery for the last 12 months. Since our 1st job with them we have had nothing but good service from them. Deliveries are always on time and the standard of door sets in which leave there factory is very high. The team regulary call to have feed back on each job and have a care in the works in which they are supplying. Would highly recommend to any new company requiring fire door manufacture

The treatments I booked were a Mother's Day treat for myself and my mum. Mulberry worked hard to fit us in for the times we could be there, which was so appreciated and really added to our relaxed day. The salon was so calming and all the staff so attentive and amenable. We were there for around 2 hours and felt so welcomed. The treatments were so relaxing and expertly done - we will be booking again soon and would highly recommend to others. I was really impressed when visiting Mulberry Beauty for the first time. Everyone was really welcoming and friendly. It didn't feel clinical in anyway. Becky gave me a brilliant back, shoulder and neck massage. It was the best massage I'd had for sometime. She asked for my preferences on the firmness of the massage which was really refreshing. I didn't feel rushed at all. I'll definitely be back. Thanks Becky.
