The Great Lion formerly Desi junction is fully refurbished place it looks amazing. Lots of different seating areas. TV screens all around, great place to watch foot ball or any other sport. Every thing was freshly cooked. Fish Pakora were amazingly delicious, service of food was great and staff were friendly, definitely will be visiting soon. Wide selection of Indian food. Dine in or order on line and collect. Sorry this time the food was not up to their standard it was not properly cooked. Sorry

Food is really good with reasonable price. Huge space where you can enjoy your special events as well. Definitely recommended.

Went here last night for an impromptu meal with my wife and I can honestly say I was astounded by the quality and amount of food and customer service for a cheap reasonable price of £25. We had two main meals with two sides of Nana, two drinks all for under £30 which is unheard of in the UK in 2024. The place was so nice and decorated, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. You the only reason I didn’t give five stars atmosphere because it was Monday night and it was dead quiet and that’s just me being honest, but that is absolutely no fault of the business whatsoever, thank you so much great Lion!

Good service from the staff here, always have good seating options. Was pleasantly surprised with the prices of the drinks. If you're looking to watch the footy or have a mixed grill then The Great Lion is a decent place to go to.

The Island Inn is a fantastic place to eat. The food is delicious. A large variety to choose from including Veg and Non Veg dishes. The mix grill is amazing, food is very tasty and cooked to perfection. Nice atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. Highly recommended!

The mix grill was below average, dry and not fresh. The curries were nice but I asked for it hot and they laced it with too much chilli! But they did remake it and it was lovely after. Overall nice but felt like they just reheated the food and served it.

Came here for 4pm, bang on opening time. Ordered the large mixed grill, Peshwari naan and chips. Everything was spot on. Incredible flavours, service, cleanliness. Decent price. Highly recommend.

If you enjoy a real old school BBQ This is the place to go. Traditional Indian food and bbq. Long running pub from the 80s from what I can remember. Nice family pub l. Friendly staff.

We come here often after going to an Albion game for drinks and always have a good time. Tonight we met friends for food and drinks. We were a group of 7. 4 adults, 3 children. Got a table for 7 in the back room. Good atmosphere and enough space for all of our food and drinks! Nice pint of cobra. We ordered: Poppadoms 2 x chicken tikka wraps Mixed wrap Masala Tikka Garlic Tikka Chips Chilli chips Masala chips Mushroom rice Fried rice Lamb Claypot Chicken Nuggets Naan Curry sauce All food was good. I just wish they had a children menu as the portion size for my 6 year old is just too big and a lot of it was wasted. We had a lovely evening and would eat here again. Busy throughout the evening and a popular bar and grill in the west bromwich area.

Argyle on tour! After a tiring train and tram journey, this pub was our choice for pre match drinks. Strange rule, which meant we had to queue to get in, yet home fans were just let in without queuing!! Yet inside, everyone was mingling quite happy and friendly. It is a huge pub that is also an Indian restaurant and was serving various dishes to the delight of the punters. The Wye valley IPA was weak and not great, but the girls serving were excellent and worked like trojans to keep up with demand. Only 15 minutes from the ground and bizarrely in a rural setting surrounded by housing estates.

Came here on Saturday evening as a party of 4 (2 adults and 2 children). Really busy on arrival which is always a good sign!! 👍 We were seated in a booth and ordered our drinks at the bar. Football was on the screens which pleased my husband and eldest daughter! We decided what we were having for food and ordered at the hatch. Poppadoms bought out swiftly and they were fresh. Mains followed not long after and all food was really good. We had: Kids Nuggets and chips. 2 x chicken tikka wraps. 2 x chips. Chicken curry. Mushroom fried rice. Great value for money. Overall a nice bar and grill and I would recommend a visit!

The pub is nicely done out with a spacious restaurant area, which is where I spent my time, but I did wander into the pub area for a few seconds and it was fairly tidy in there too. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Prices are quite reasonable. Beer selection is pretty basic, but that's usually the case for the majority of these kinds of places. The food, in my humble opinion, isn't top tier in comparison to other similar places, but still good enough to make the place a solid dining option. Nice touch giving out complimentary poppadoms while you wait on your order, and fairly good variety on the special mixed grill. There are a couple of free car parks and a few street parking options nearby, which was quite convenient.

Credit where credit is due, I rarely write reviews but the food at the Hen and Chickens knocks its competitors out of the park. We’ve been to every curry house in the area, and one of our favourites is award winning restaurant in Stourbridge. The food here is on par and very reasonably priced considering. If you’re in the West Bromwich area, it’s worth a visit for taste!

Recently hired out the function room here. Would definitely recommend. The function room is a decent size, the staff were great and the food was amazing.

Place has a very nice vibe, and the food was amazing, too. we had their fish and chips combination and chicken and rice combination. I can't exactly recall the names of the dishes, but both were really flavourful and nicely spice. Service was really good and a nice vibe in the atmosphere and worthy to comment that the potion size was really large and worth every penny you pay

Has a large car park with accessible entrance. Nice, comfortable atmosphere. Staff (Jen) were friendly and helpful. The food was nice and well presented.

We were a family of 11 dining on the 17th January. We were welcomed and seated. The lady that served me with the food order was very patient as we had a few edits to the meals and I had to keep returning to the table mid order to clarify what people wanted (we're a complicated bunch). Maria served our food and she was very pleasant and attentive. Our order was spot on and food very enjoyable. Thank you.
