My daughter has been having private tuition with Nick over the last year. It has been wonderful to see her grow in confidence thanks to Nick. His support and enduring patience has helped to transform my daughter from a shy and reserved student to one who now beams with confidence. Thanks to Nick, she got a distinction in her English GCSE speaking exam and hopefully is now on course to secure a great grade in her English literature and English language GCSE's which she is currently taking. She has really enjoyed her time with Nick over the last year. A truly fantastic tutor and so much more supportive than anyone who has taught her before. I literally cannot recommend him enough!!!

My son has dyslexia and was struggling at school. T not only found his academic work challenging but also struggled with confidence and belief in himself. The run up to his GCSEs was proving particularly stressful. Then we found Nick. From the very beginning Nick was engaging, welcoming and fun. He saw T as an individual and identified strategies and techniques that suited T’s particular learning style. Nick helped T become more confident and believe that he could actually pass his GCSE English! NIck also helped T see value in his strengths that can easily get overlooked in the traditional education system. Although we haven’t got the results yet, T was able to go into the exams feeling confident and not panicking (as he had done previously in his mocks.) He always wanted to come to his sessions with Nick, and I enjoyed learning how I could support T better too. I have no hesitation in commending Nick, he’s a talented educator who thinks outside the box and puts the child/young person in the centre of everything he does. Thanks Nick for all you have done for us!!!

We came to Nick after being recommended to us. Our son needed help to resit his GCSE English, our son has autism and difficulties expressing himself. It was so refreshing for my son to find someone that he could engage with and help him build his confidence up. Nick is one of the kindest people I have had the pleasure of meeting. He has been amazing with my child who has suffered with mental health issues and was not attending school. Not only did he give valuable learning techniques, he encouraged and gave confidence. Of course he has a great sense of humour too. We miss having our weekly lessons with Nick. We feel without his help my child would not have got close to passing GCSE’s. We highly recommend Nick as a tutor.

Kenza is good at identifying the strengths and weaknesses of her pupils and tailoring her teaching to help them improve. During the last four years when I have been studying French with her help, my confidence has improved enormously and I know it would have been a slower process without her help. Our daughter passed the Grammar school exam under Yasmin’s guidance. Yasmin was very thorough with her style. We also found out that in person teaching was highly beneficial. The practice papers were provided as print outs which were then completed by the child and reviewed in the next session. Yasmin has been an incredible tutor through both my 11+ and GCSE examinations. She has provided invaluable resources (such as past papers, worksheets, predicted papers and more) and has never hesitated to explain a concept I struggled with understanding. My son joined STS tutoring February of Year 5 after finding his old tutor was unable to work positively with him. I called Yasmin fairly worried that my son would be changing tutors so late in the 11plus journey. She was incredibly supportive and set a date to trial him and see how much he knew. Straight away she told me he was doing so well and he was definitely on the right track. Each week from then on, Yasmin was nothing but kind and positive about his learning. When I had a worry, she took the time to give me reassurance and even ideas of how to improve certain areas of learning. She kept up with last minute changes in the exam criteria and made sure my son had the up to date papers to work from, something other tutors in the area didn’t do. She tailored the work for his weaknesses and went above and beyond to help him feel confident. She also was truthful when she felt he could improve his learning or even his attitude towards the work in any way. My son has a place at Sutton Grammar starting in September 2024 and couldn’t be happier. My younger son will be starting with Yasmin when his journey starts. Yasmin is dedicated, kind and so personal, perfect for our family.

Karen was a wonderful tutor for our son Edward during an emergency period of EOTAS. She really met him where he was with different elements of his learning and helped start to address the very significant gaps arising from the poor educational standard at his previous SEN school, slowly building his confidence and self-belief. Since attending Elite Tutors for maths tuition, our daughter has grown in confidence. Being able to go over topics she has been struggling with at school has helped greatly. My two children have had Kumon maths lessons from the age of 7 and 4 respectively. They are now 15 and 12. Kumon has been a massive part of their success. Not only are they considerably advanced for their age at maths, the confidence it has given them has boosted their performance across all subjects. All three of my children have taken maths, at Kumon in Guildford. We started for various reasons and have ended at different times. My last child has now been doing it for three years now and is two years ahead of where she should be. This was evident in home schooling in lockdown when we were completing year eight maths and she is in year six. Kumon has continued through lockdown with zoom lessons. I could book an individual lesson if stuck and could contact through Whats app and text. Work was easy to exchange with little notes of encouragement. My daughter is determined to finish the program. Ultimately she says she wants to take maths and further maths at A level. Even if this isn't your aim, Kumon will give you a great understanding of maths. Times tables will be known instantly which will help in all aspects of life. The Guildford group is welcoming and when we are allowed to meet again, easy to find. Nicky Gale.

Enrolling your child in Kumon is an excellent way to create discipline and interest in reading and maths. My child was in a different Kumon center prior to us moving to this location, and we have to say its been a fantastic experience here. Duhita and her team cater the work not only to a childs academic growth but also take into account personal and social development. I highly recommend enrolling your children in this particular location.

We are new to the UK. My daughter never learned English. After she joined Kumon she start to say words and now it's been 6month, now she is talking to people with confidence(still need to improve). Even her teacher at her school said she improved so fast. Thanks to Kumon in Guildford, we had very nice experiences with it and all staff are very nice and teacher are so patient. Once again let my daughter go to kumon is very good choice I made.

My son started attending sessions with Lynnette in year 4, which ultimately helped him receive offers from both Tiffin School and Kingston Grammar School. I highly recommend taking private lessons with Shine Tutors. L. is an amazing tutor and very professional. She helped my child to reach another level indeed and prepared him so well. He enjoyed her class so much. Shine tutors accurately identified my child's strengths and weaknesses so they could work on them effectively. The methods used are perfectly aligned with the tests, and the follow-up and correction of exercises are consistent. Thanks to the weekly follow up with a lot of good learning homeworks material our child succeeded in all his 11+ exams. It's hard work and effort at first but it all pays off. He got offered a place at Tiffin in the first round as well as other independent schools such as Hampton Boys including Upper Latymer scholarships.
