I cannot recommend Kip McGrath Epsom enough. My daughter was taught by Steve who is a brilliant teacher. The structure used is perfect for children preparing for the 11+ as the work is computer based and tests a wide range of areas within the curriculum. If a child is finding an area tricky this is easily identified and the teacher provides support and further questions are the set in that area to consolidate the learning. The way the exercises are structured is dynamic in how subjects should be taught. My daughter genuinely looked forward to classes and her results substantially improved after starting Kip. They also offer a reward system so the more work you complete, the more points you get which equals prizes! My daughter has just completed the 11+ and her Kip lessons have been invaluable. I highly recommend Steve, Emma and the team at Kip McGrath Epsom.

My 2 boys both attended Kip for approximately 18 months, much of this time during lockdown. Steve was a positive and enthusiastic influence throughout this difficult time, and really helped to develop their skills and confidence in English and Maths. They really enjoyed attending the classes weekly. My eldest has recently been successful in securing two scholarship offers for secondary school and Kip has been an important part of this success. My son was tutored by Gemma in advance of his GCSE Spanish. She is excellent at ensuring that he kept a focus on what examiners are after and built his capability and confidence on the spoken side of the language. He certainly found Gemma very helpful and asked for some additional lessons in advance of his exams. I’d definitely recommend Gemma, and will be using her to help support my daughter in her French GCSE.

We used Gemma for Spanish tutoring in preparation for my daughters Spanish GCSE. From the very first meeting, Gemma was quickly able to determine what my daughter’s strengths and weaknesses were. Subsequently, she tailored her sessions to provide the knowledge she required both for the written and oral exams. Bilal is literally a miracle science tutor. My daughter had spent several months with another tutor who let her down and I then came across Bilal. I even considered deferring a year as she was so behind. Using the appropriate resources and through his brilliant teaching style, Bilal gave her the confidence and guidance to continue. She literally came up at least three grades within three months. She got excellent passes in double science and is now at the sixth form of her choice. Bilal is an excellent science teacher. He has a relax teaching approach but very effective. He is flexible with class timings to support my son who has 6 days school. He works around my son’s style of learning and my son (year 10) has been getting good scores across all sciences in school exams. Our daughter passed the Grammar school exam under Yasmin’s guidance. Yasmin was very thorough with her style. We also found out that in person teaching was highly beneficial. The practice papers were provided as print outs which were then completed by the child and reviewed in the next session. My son joined STS tutoring February of Year 5 after finding his old tutor was unable to work positively with him. I called Yasmin fairly worried that my son would be changing tutors so late in the 11plus journey. She was incredibly supportive and set a date to trial him and see how much he knew. Straight away she told me he was doing so well and he was definitely on the right track. Each week from then on, Yasmin was nothing but kind and positive about his learning. When I had a worry, she took the time to give me reassurance and even ideas of how to improve certain areas of learning. She kept up with last minute changes in the exam criteria and made sure my son had the up to date papers to work from, something other tutors in the area didn’t do. She tailored the work for his weaknesses and went above and beyond to help him feel confident. She also was truthful when she felt he could improve his learning or even his attitude towards the work in any way. My son has a place at Sutton Grammar starting in September 2024 and couldn’t be happier. My younger son will be starting with Yasmin when his journey starts. Yasmin is dedicated, kind and so personal, perfect for our family.

My son started attending sessions with Lynnette in year 4, which ultimately helped him receive offers from both Tiffin School and Kingston Grammar School. Sarah is a great teacher. My girls have shown great improvement with her. With the regular home work scheme, students get good grip on the concepts.
