My eldest daughter now 11 started Maths Kumon in year 4 and it set her up for starting secondary school as she was so advanced having done Kumon for 3 years. My other two children also do Kumon and as I was so impressed with the Maths programme they are doing English as well. My youngest is 7 and has recently started both subjects. My advice would be to start as soon as you can. The Kumon levels build with your child's ability and is closely monitored by Carole. My children get such little amounts of homework from school that I felt a little 10 minute Kumon booklet a day, would help support them. It is an investment of both parents time and of course the children, but you do get an answer book, so marking is easy! My youngest daughter wasn't happy at school and she is a different girl now as she has grown so much stronger academically and I'm sure this is down to Kumon building her confidence and giving her the building blocks she needed. Carole is a fantastic teacher and supports the children at every step of the way, she is so good at motivating them and working with the them along their Kumon journey. I would definitely recommend Kumon to all parents.

Kumon has been amazing at improving my son’s maths ability. He doesn’t always find it easy but Carole with her calm, confident approach has been brilliant at finding ways to motivate him as she totally understands the way he works. I cannot recommend Kumon and Carole’s approach enough.

My daughter had a poor start to Triple Science GCSE, her teacher was newly qualified and sacked by the end of Year 10. So, come Year 11, there was a lot of ground to cover. Elliott was recommended by a colleague. From the very first Zoom meeting, he has been exceptional. Immediately he identified Nell’s gaps, strengths and weaknesses and was able to deliver engaging, coherent and meaningful sessions to meet her needs and help her make progress. He has excellent subject knowledge, is super organised, encouraging and supportive. His delivery is warm and enthusiastic…Nell didn’t once complain about having a session with him (a miracle), her confidence grew and dare I say it, she even looked forward to his sessions! Elliott kept me in the loop regarding next steps for Nell and emailed exam papers and advice as her exams approached. Whatever grades Nell achieves will be largely down to Elliott. My only regret is we didn’t find him sooner.

Mia taught my child Sophie when she needed extra help after school. Sophie really enjoyed and looked forward to the sessions and developed a great relationship with Mia. The sessions were great fun and planned around Sophie’s favourite characters which really helped engage her. It was fantastic to see how quickly Sophie gained confidence in herself and her work . Mia kept me well informed about Sophie’s progress and gave me ways I could help her more at home too. I would highly recommend Mia to help any child. I would thoroughly recommend Elena as a maths tutor. She taught my daughter in such a way that my daughter went from classing maths as her ‘worse subject’ to it now being one of her favourites! Elena can never have enough time and patience for her students and this creates a pressure free zone of learning which really allowed my daughter not to be fearful of this subject but to embrace it.

Elena is an amazing tutor. she tutored my son for his GCSE maths, he is home educated and found it hard to connect and focus at school, being at that awkward teenage age- it really just comes naturally to Elena to read the room and adapt to my sons needs. This made him comfortable and able to focus and connect with her, straight away. He learnt more in an hour with Elena than he has done in multiple lessons at school. Flexible, great value for money Elena was well worth it and i highly recommend!
