Rosanna at Powertutors connecting us with Christine who has been a lovely teacher for Psychology for our son. She is patient, calm and can break down difficult concepts into easier words. My daughter is learning guitar with Faye who is such an inspiring teacher!  Faye is kind and patient, and has hooked my daughter's interest with songs she knows, as well as broadening her horizons with music she isn't familiar with. Faye recently recorded my daughter playing a piece she had been learning which was a real treat for us all and something my daughter is very proud of.  The lessons are held in a music practice studio brimming with musicians coming and going which in itself is inspiring to be around.   Thanks so much Discover and Be!

I chose Discover and Be because I wanted lessons that would teach my children not just to play music but to love it! My son has Christopher for guitar and my daughter Rhi for piano. The lessons are thoughtfully tailored to the children building their confidence and creativity as well as technical music skills. I only wish I could have had lessons like this when I was a child. I highly recommend them.

I contacted Sheila at Discover and Be to work with my daughter at the start of year 6, particularly in respect of maths. My daughter was lacking in confidence in her academic ability and I wanted to help her feel more positive about her learning and finish primary school feeling confident and ready to start secondary school. My daughter enjoyed all her lessons with Sheila, who understood how to catch her attention and harness her potential. The support Sheila gave her through that year was invaluable and made such a huge difference. My son originally started with Sam for help with his English during his Sats. He struggles a lot with English but Sam has made it enjoyable for him and he understands more. She works on his strengths and pushes him to do the bits that he doesn’t like and will try to avoid. He’s now in year 8 and although he says he doesn’t like it he always comes out smiling and he is doing well in his English at school. I think without Sam’s support he would be struggling.

Sam tutored my daughter for a number of years and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her as a tutor. My daughter was struggling with maths and as a shy individual was reluctant to volunteer answers or actively contribute in class. Sam was both patient and kind providing reassurance and encouragement which increased my daughter’s overall confidence in the subject and the class. Her grades also improved and Sam was instrumental in helping her make such progress.

Since attending Elite Tutors for maths tuition, our daughter has grown in confidence. Being able to go over topics she has been struggling with at school has helped greatly. Practicing relevant exam questions and techniques in a supportive tutoring environment has been very helpful, especially when approaching her GCSEs. I suffer from high levels of stress and anxiety and find classroom based learning extremly difficult and this has led me to being permanantly excluded in all my schools i have been in, during my year 11 gcse period. Ken has been empathetic and patient when teaching me and has tought me different ways that i would understand and i have progressed massivley. He gives me past mock papers and work printed out and looks through all my work and makes sure i have a full understanding of everything. I have never got along with any adults in the school but me and Ken have mutual respect and he treats me as a adult and teaches me instead of telling me what to do as there is a big difference. Talena helped a struggling GCSE student pass his exams! It was looking possible that he may not get through but she managed to go over the basics in maths and English effectively and after some lessons the student could see that it could be done if he put in the work. Then, after just a few months he took his exams and passed. She clearly loves tutoring and the students love her!! Highly recommend!!
