We stayed here as a family weekend of 19/20 October.
It seems there has been a change in ownership management recently and the new people are settling in.
Rooms: first glance look great, but lots of little niggles which just needs looking into. Suspect they are problems which just didn't get dealt with by previous management. However, warm, cosy and comfortable.
Food: we only had breakfast. First day was excellent. Great quick service and quality food.
Second morning not so efficient. However, not fault of staff/owner. There was an absence in kitchen, so only one person for cooking and serving. People in our party offered help, and it was graciously accepted, turning a problem into an experience instead. A lot of people would turn down help out of 'ego', so accepting help is the mark of person without ego.
Service: great customer service. From arrival, to adapting some room allocation, to breakfast the team were attentive, proactive, respectful, funny and kind.
Overall, yep a few niggles but not all the fault of new owners. Yep, I'd go back.
