A decent pub with good, standard pub grub. The beer works too. The Castle is on the Lower Road, not far from Bysing Woods and the Gunpowder Mills (also a short stroll to the water). The garden seems to have been redone well. Decor is part pub, part cafe.
We come here regularly for a quick Sunday roast. Always greeted with a friendly smile, serviced nice food, at a really decent price. Lovely local pub, nice garden for the summer.
We were made very welcome, staff very polite and friendly, they do basic pub grub, witch is cooked, and prepared to very good standard, and they do small plates as well as normal size meals.
Popped in for a drink. Beautiful pub. Will definitely be back if we are in the area
