Good food and prices, conveniently located close to the city centre. I went to The Beano Cafe for a late morning breakfast consisting of scrambled eggs, two slices of toast, a portion of chips and a can of fizzy pop. The cost was only £7.00. Feel like this should be a gem but isn’t really. Breakfast is very good value and it feels like a traditional greasy spoon, but… Food lacks grease and just isn’t as good What ever they clean with isn’t removed from the pans/surfaces. The mushrooms had a faint taste of bleach, but it was only just noticeable. I had black pudding with my meal and it was disgusting, tasted like it had been dipped in a puddle of bleach before cooking. So I’d love to give this 5 stars, but actually 4 seems generous. I’m hoping our experience was a one off.

Dropped into this little gem because it was so close to our accommodation. Certainly not disappointed in any way. Staff were brilliant, service was quick and the food was really good. Would recommend.
