Lovely place for a classic scone. Their house scone (with blueberry and lime) is delicious (don’t forget the extra clotted cream!). Also nice selection of hot chocolates with fantasy. Beautiful setting.

Was visiting with a friend and hopped in for some afternoon tea, the staff were so helpful with advising us about portion sizes and I can say- they were right! One serving of afternoon tea was more than enough between the two of us. The Raspberry Apple scone was delicious and so large we almost couldn’t finish it, and the finger sandwiches were so fresh with classic fillings! We got the Tiny Tim’s House-blend for our tea and loved it. Overall, Cosy Interiors, great food and excellent service:))

My favourite place to take visiting friends and family in Canterbury. No need to pre-book. The cheese scones are super delicious, I keep going back just for them. I've tried different teas, they never disappoint. Nuts allergy friendly.

Quirky Super place, first time customer and we're be returning next time we are in Canters. Staff were excellent, friendly, professional and the service received was top notch. Teas were really nice, certainly different and there was plenty for two cups. Scones were of a good standard although one totally fell into pieces. Jam and butter were superb. £35 for 2 x teas, 1 x coffee & 3 x scones. Expensive, maybe, but was quality 👍

Good food and prices, conveniently located close to the city centre. I went to The Beano Cafe for a late morning breakfast consisting of scrambled eggs, two slices of toast, a portion of chips and a can of fizzy pop. The cost was only £7.00. My inner child did a little jig when I saw the name, and the menu did not disappoint. I opted for the classic English brekkie, and let me tell you, it was a full-on feast for a champion. The sausage were juicy and plump, they burst with flavour in every bite. The egg was cooked as expected, their golden yolks begging to be mopped up with the accompanying toast. The bacon added a salty touch, while the baked beans offered a welcome touch of sweetness. But the real surprise was the fried bread. Golden and fluffy on the inside, it had a satisfyingly crispy exterior. It was the perfect vessel for scooping up beans, mopping up egg yolk, or simply savoring on its own. Feel like this should be a gem but isn’t really. Breakfast is very good value and it feels like a traditional greasy spoon, but… Food lacks grease and just isn’t as good What ever they clean with isn’t removed from the pans/surfaces. The mushrooms had a faint taste of bleach, but it was only just noticeable. I had black pudding with my meal and it was disgusting, tasted like it had been dipped in a puddle of bleach before cooking. So I’d love to give this 5 stars, but actually 4 seems generous. I’m hoping our experience was a one off.

Beautiful coffee shop with a cricket ground view. Sun is just facing the cafe. Planty of natural lights and lots of indoor plants inside. They have outdoor sitting and WiFi, too. They have allocated parking for the customers. Accessible toilate with separate baby change room . Also, a book shelf with books and a few toys and crayons for kids.

Perfect stop for coffee and a light lunch ☕️🥪 Tucked away in the corner of the Kent cricket ground Oriole Cafe next to the Sainsbury’s express. It’s a lively cafe with a good selection of brunch and light lunch options in addition to coffee, smoothies and chilled drinks. Parking is limited outside the cafe but there is additional space inside the cricket grounds.

Oriole is the kind of find you selfishly feel you don’t want to share while wanting to shout about because they deserve to succeed. I spotted the discrete chalk board beyond Sainsbury’s car park beyond the cricket club doors and ventured forth. Walked in and felt …wow! What a breath of fresh air! Spacious seating looking out on Kent cricket green. Literally a small window cleverly left ajar keeping air circulation feeling fresh and covid safe. Loved my flat white with oat and tuna melt, served with small side salad. And where else gives you a glass of fresh water to wash it all down. If your local, be sure to get your Oriole loyalty card. Oriole is an welcome oasis on a busy day,

Went for a coffee with a friend. First visit, unfortunately the comfy sofas were taken up with students who sat there for the whole time we were there with one drink between them. Despite the above the coffee was lovely and I will try it again, maybe for lunch.

This is the best meal I’ve had in Canterbury and I understand why this restaurant has lasted so long. It’s one of the busiest restaurants too so you do have to book (it was packed even on a dreary February weekday ). The decor is colourful and wonderfully eccentric. Every member of the staff was warm and friendly despite the fact that they were very busy. I ordered a chicken fajita which came with generous, fresh portions of everything and deliciously cooked chicken. It’s worth noting that although the menu shows fajita for two that can also do single portions on request (I nearly didn’t have one at all because I don’t know this). Other members in the party all complemented the food. Overall it was excellent and I strongly recommend it.

Friendly staff, fun decor and delicious food. First time visiting and am new to Mexican foods so the staff helped me understand the menu items better to make my choice. Went for the spinach leek and cheese tacos and they were so good and paired wonderfully with the beans and guac. Excited to return and try more!

Wow. The duck is just fantastic. The server asked me how I wanted to duck, which was the first time I’ve ever been asked that. He explained to me that the duck tastes better and has a nicer texture if it id a bit pink. And he was right. The duck was the highlight of my entire trip to Canterbury! There’s also a student discount, which is really nice. This place is very popular, so be sure to make a reservation. Luckily they were able to fit us in without needing to make one.

Great food, quick and friendly service with a cosy ambience. The Lamb Stew that I had was delicious and the accompanying salsa was fresh with the right amount of spice. Left feeling full and Happy!

I had seen the tea rooms online and thought it should be perfect to take my friends from abroad to, and it absolutely delivered! The place is actually much more spacious than it looks, lovely sitting area upstairs. We popped in Sunday lunchtime and were surprised the place was empty, that meant we got to choose the best table. The building itself is so quaint, the traditional cream tea and sandwiches were delicious, great tea selection, but the service left the most lasting impression. The young lady, I did not get her name unfortunately, was really sweet and helpful, made us feel very welcome. Will definitely be back to sample the cakes!

Tasty homemade cakes and flavored tea. The half timbered building looks amazing from both inside and outside. It's a cozy place to relax and have yummy cakes with friends. Highlight of our day trip in Canterbury. I would definitely love to visit again. Their chocolate cake is definitely worth it. The price is quite reasonable. I loved their rose sencha green tea.

The best service ever! We had so much fun at the Moat Tea Rooms for a friend’s birthday afternoon tea. The waitress fulfilled everybody’s wishes with care and witty humour. Definitely will return! Delicious tea and broad selection of cakes.

I have been here many times and always had a good experience. The food is delicious and staff helpful and friendly. The outside seating is on loose stone with some shade and inside are a few large tables for a big group. The venue is varied and GF and vegans are catered for.

I recently visited Stag and was absolutely blown away by their breakfast options! Not only did they have an incredible variety of dishes, but they also had an impressive selection of drinks to choose from. Found this place almost by accident. It's down the far end of the city, near to the West Tower. Clean, cosy & welcoming. Friendly staff, well spaced tables. Clean toilets too, always a plus! Had tea & a large slab of coffee cake, which was rather delectable! Very nice pit-stop. Will visit again.

Really lovely place! A friend of mine recommended the place to me and I checked it out! Great coffee, I had a white mocha with hazelnut syrup and oat milk (amazingly made, and tasted great), and I had this really tasty granola bowl with yogurt, oats, strawberries, raspberries and some other tasty fruit (10/10 mix, I asked for some cinnamon and maple syrup to add and it was exceptional to me). Really cool vibe to the place, and was really impressed by the miniature train set they have towards the back. Shout out to rachel for her kind service and the male staff with glasses (he actually built the train set himself! Really impressive). I’ll definitely be back, highly recommend!
