brilliant staff, amazing coffee a lovely welcome from all the staff and the interior is very cosy :)

It’s a cute coffee shop with such a comfortable vibe. I believe how small it is adds to the aesthetic. It even has an upstairs area (mini one). Came in for a couple of mochas with a friend and it was really chill. The mochas were made beautifully, and tasted great. Highly recommend, excited to try the pastries next.

So happy to come across this pleasant little coffee shop in Canterbury. It is set in an ancient, characterful building close to the cathedral. Happily, the owners have resisted the urge to formulate a brightly lit tourist trap and have instead, taken the time to create a coffee shop with a beautiful ambiance, kind staff and quality ingredients. Prices are reasonable and the quality and colour of the cups and plates speaks of an attention to detail and care for their customers. Some nice views from the windows of the beautiful city of Canterbury. A well deserved 5 stars.

Good coffee at fairly standard prices. Service missed the mark a little with tables not being cleared/cleaned when we sat down and ordered. Worth a quick stop when visiting Canterbury

Food was great. However the staff wasn’t very positive when seating us, and didn’t tell us till after we had eaten that they had an all you can eat pancake offer on that day. So we had finished our dish then was told. And felt we had to grab the offer while we was there as they was unsure if the offer was staying. But glad I didn’t pay for the pancakes full price, they was dry and chewy. The main meal we had was amazing!!! Couldn’t fault that. But the staff need to be more attentive and explain more. The down stairs toilet didn’t work so had to go upstairs it’s great they had two but also an inconvenience for people with a disability.

It is a nice restaurant, I had the Christmas cracker burger with a beautiful fruit chutney and a lovely truffle jam in a bun with a fat juicy burger. It was delicious, service was decent and the waitress was lovely. Okay ish prices, definitely cheaper in spoons but it is better food here.

Amazing, lovely meal. Highly recomend the veggie platter, really tasty food and plenty for two people. All the staff were super friendly, especially our server Tasha who was very attentive. We will be back!

The entire experience is a delightful homage to the world of Beano comic books. From the quirky decor to the friendly staff who seem to have stepped straight out of the pages, it injects a playful energy into the breakfast routine. my go-to for a good cooked breakfast. Never disappoints, always with great service and delicious food. Clean inside too. 5/5 I tried all the cooked breakfasts I could find in Canterbury over the last year or so, to see what’s best. Beano wins :)

Feel like this should be a gem but isn’t really. Breakfast is very good value and it feels like a traditional greasy spoon, but… Food lacks grease and just isn’t as good What ever they clean with isn’t removed from the pans/surfaces. The mushrooms had a faint taste of bleach, but it was only just noticeable. I had black pudding with my meal and it was disgusting, tasted like it had been dipped in a puddle of bleach before cooking. So I’d love to give this 5 stars, but actually 4 seems generous. I’m hoping our experience was a one off.

Good food and prices, conveniently located close to the city centre. I went to The Beano Cafe for a late morning breakfast consisting of scrambled eggs, two slices of toast, a portion of chips and a can of fizzy pop. The cost was only £7.00. Great Mexican! Super yummy food & nice vibe. Been my fave spot for years while I lived in Canterbury. Came back 5 years later & it’s still the same great quality food, full of flavors. Funky art on the wall is for sale too! Thank you:)

Wow. The duck is just fantastic. The server asked me how I wanted to duck, which was the first time I’ve ever been asked that. He explained to me that the duck tastes better and has a nicer texture if it id a bit pink. And he was right. The duck was the highlight of my entire trip to Canterbury! There’s also a student discount, which is really nice. This place is very popular, so be sure to make a reservation. Luckily they were able to fit us in without needing to make one.

Friendly staff, fun decor and delicious food. First time visiting and am new to Mexican foods so the staff helped me understand the menu items better to make my choice. Went for the spinach leek and cheese tacos and they were so good and paired wonderfully with the beans and guac. Excited to return and try more!

Great food, quick and friendly service with a cosy ambience. The Lamb Stew that I had was delicious and the accompanying salsa was fresh with the right amount of spice. Left feeling full and Happy!

Have been here before and enjoyed it this time, not quite as good The ordering is easy, and drinks are delivered to your table when ready, disappointingly today these we tepid rather than hot. Nice ideas for three different bruschetta, we chose the mushroom one, and it looked great but again on the cool side. Previously excellent experience, so we have blended the rating

Nice location, and there are many options for cocktails 🍹. I loved the Halloween 🎃 decorations. They had 1+1 cocktails offer going on. Loved it. However taste of the food could've been a bit better. Didn't feel fresh.

The comedy night at the Stag was a great evening out! Decent drinks and a great bit of entertainment from the stand ups. Definitely recommend a visit for a chilled time and a good laugh.

Nicely situated in the heart of Canterbury. Seating inside and out ( under cover) We had a very pleasant cup of Egyptian mint tea at a very affordable price. And the staff member was extremely efficient and pleasant.

Friendly atmosphere. Good selection on the menu and well presented. A little dearer than we usually spend, but definitely worth a visit. We will be going back sometime

Heavenly cakes. Happy & friendly staff. Tadpole makes a great meeting place for walks and is dog-friendly. [Update] Croque madame to die for and the most gorgeous lemon drizzle cake.

I like my morning coffee in a nice atmosphere so here to give it a go and they didn't disappoint me. Very nice friendly ambience with positive vibes. Good coffee, good service even I'll have had to wait for 10min to order. Hope coming back again when in town.

Really lovely place! A friend of mine recommended the place to me and I checked it out! Great coffee, I had a white mocha with hazelnut syrup and oat milk (amazingly made, and tasted great), and I had this really tasty granola bowl with yogurt, oats, strawberries, raspberries and some other tasty fruit (10/10 mix, I asked for some cinnamon and maple syrup to add and it was exceptional to me). Really cool vibe to the place, and was really impressed by the miniature train set they have towards the back. Shout out to rachel for her kind service and the male staff with glasses (he actually built the train set himself! Really impressive). I’ll definitely be back, highly recommend!

Love this place perfectly located for me as prior to my Hidden City Tour I can grab a coffee and a snack! Friendly staff delicious food super coffee, plus it's another independent business like me!

Found this place almost by accident. It's down the far end of the city, near to the West Tower. Clean, cosy & welcoming. Friendly staff, well spaced tables. Clean toilets too, always a plus! Had tea & a large slab of coffee cake, which was rather delectable! Very nice pit-stop. Will visit again.

Just had an excellent and very fairly priced smoked salmon salad. This is a lovely quiet cafe to escape the crowds on the high street with smiling friendly service and well made food.
