we ordered fish and chips, fish finger sandwich, spicy carrot soup, bread and butter pudding and blackberry apple pie. the fish and chips were crispy. the fish finger was not home made, it was ready made. It would be better if it was home made, I liked the salad of fish finger sandwich. both desserts were good. the soup was tasty.

The Grouse Inn is a charming, traditional pub that serves as the perfect midway stop during the Froggatt, Curbar, and White Edge circular route. It offers a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere, making it an ideal place to pause and recharge. This wasn’t our first visit, and once again, it did not disappoint. We always go for the steak and ale pie, which is consistently excellent. Paired with a couple of drinks, it’s the perfect meal to enjoy before continuing the journey. Beyond the food, the location itself is a highlight. Nestled in the heart of the countryside, it provides a cozy and authentic pub experience, complete with warm hospitality and a traditional setting. Whether you're looking for a well-earned rest mid-walk or simply a great meal in a picturesque location, this pub is an excellent choice. We will certainly be returning again.

Best steak pie I’ve had in a long time, absolutely delicious! Staff and locals really friendly, made me feel welcome whilst travelling solo. Also Betty the pub dog was a bonus, so cute. Would recommend to anyone and I’ll definitely return if I’m travelling this way again :)

I have had dinner at the Grouse inn twice with family who are regulars here. The food was really good and portions very generous. The staff and locals all very friendly and give visitors a warm welcome. Dogs and their owners are welcome too and have a room at the back. I will definitely be back when I next visit Derbyshire.
