The Shire Oak is a stunning Pub / Eatery. Rick has been landlord here for many years.. very hospitable and always very accommodating... Other staff on site also very friendly and welcoming. High standards are clear to see, the place is spotless throughout and the food coming out of the kitchen looks very tasty and well presented. Tastefully decorated with plush comfy seating and lots of tv screens to enjoy the live sports. The Shire oak also offers Darts and Pool, live music events and a very pleasant beer garden. What can I say, food is delicious, entertainment is fantastic, staff are so welcoming and friendly. This is an absolute gem….however it could do with a little TLC….bar area floor uneven also pool area floor broken tiles. What a shame as this can let down the pure potential of this place….

Great to visit 😊 old ancestry pub, the staff were very helpful explaining all the changes to the pub and told me the old brewery is now part of the car park. Sadly didn't have time to try the delicious smelling cuisine.

Absolutely fantastic meal! All of the food was freshly cooked and delicious! I had the burger with salt and chilli fries, and mum had some vegetarian sausages with mash. The staff were really friendly and made us feel very welcome. Definitely be going back soon.

The service was good from the start. The food was great and we even had a little left over to take home. Emily served us and made sure we weren’t kept waiting for anything. All in all it was very pleasant experience making a wonderful evening. Thank you

Sunday lunch on 01/06/25 Warm greeting when we arrived. Drinks order taken promptly. Food when it arrived was delicious as usual. Staff are really good here, very friendly and helpful. Our main server was Ella-Mae she was brilliant. Can't wait to return.

There is a high standard of care and attention to detail to people frequenting the restaurant. The food came out quickly although the restaurant was busy. All the serving staff were very welcoming and also the bar staff when we arrived greeted us with a smile and welcomed us. The food was outstanding and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to all my friends, also lovely Mocktails. I phoned yesterday and got through straight away. I explained that I wanted a table for 4 people and it was my wife's Birthday on the day we wanted to go ( 19th May ) The lady was very polite and reserved a table which she thought would be very suitable for us near the windows on a very well sized round table. On arrival we were greeted quickly and the lady was very polite, cheerful and ready to show us to our table which was in a great position in the restaurant. Sue was given a glass of champagne and a strawberry to start with which was a lovely thought. We all proceeded to order our drinks and food with no rush, leaving us with plenty of time to catch up with our friends as we live in Tenerife and came to England to visit many people while here. All the food was exceptional and the mains were served on hot plates. Starters and desserts were also fabulous with a special touch for Sue again with a special message on her dessert plate along with a Birthday card too. Have been ordering food here since we moved here a year ago, and the food is ALWAYS hot, fresh, and delicious!! 😍 The owners are so so kind, and you can tell they have a real pride in what they do 💗 So reasonably priced and they really do go above and beyond, can’t recommend enough!!

I ordered spicy kebab and fries from these guys and it was absolutely delicious, the only place i have been to where they actually marinate the meat in home made sauce and you can really taste the difference. The fries where crispy, plentyful and well seasoned. Everything came piping hot and right on time. The delivery driver was a pleasant surprise too ☺️ 5 stars my new regular !!!

Guys, I have to say, I don't know how you cook them, but your burgers are the tastiest, most tender I have ever tasted. Honestly, I am blown away, so so tasty and very good value. Baguettes also extremely well put together and very tasty according to my son, fresh and exceptional. Whatever you're doing well done, we will be ordering again, thank you 👍

This pub has been taken over by Lee who along with his staff are fantastic. There used to be a time in would not step into this place but over the last 3 or 4 months it's proven to have changed for the better, much better. Very small and does not serve food. One of the proper true pubs. Karaoke, discos, singers, special events and friendly people. Prices are average. Don't let it's past deter you ots changed for the better. Recommended.

I've looked back on a few of my reviews, and apparently I like quirky places. Well this is a little quirky pub. Typically local like, and that's good. Live music from Kevin Ruby Aston was smashing. Decent beer too. 🤠

Tiny little back street old fashioned pub with a great atmosphere. Has an open invitation to anyones whose struggling with heat to come down and get warm .you can even bring in your own sandwiches
