We've been trying to get in here for a loooooong time! Always a good sign when you have to book so far in advance, and we were not disappointed. Fabulous Tapas, with friendly service, knowledgeable staff and great atmosphere. So glad we've tried this little gem in the heart of Lovely Louth. We will definitely be back!

Went here on Saturday night in Louth, 9.30pm as had lots of bookings. Very authentic tapas with tons of flavour. Gambas pil pil and beef albondigas were very tasty (all food is super fresh and prawns were from the fish market that same day, you can taste the difference! Nice music, very friendly service and well priced. Excellent desserts (some of the nicest churros I’ve eaten) as well would definitely return for good quality, freshly cooked tapas. Happy eating! Had a wonderful meal here midweek with friends. Staff were great, funny, helpful and kind. The food was delicious and prompt. Good variety of dishes. Good selection of wine and sherry! Tried a sherry tasting board. Didn't use my wheelchair, but the staff put the ramp down for me anyway. Accessible toilet was very clean and well laid out. Highly recommend, and we will be back for more.

Lovely little pub. Dog friendly and a great selection of real Ale. We had the Haddock and chips, and it was soo good. Real chips (fresh not frozen), the batter was so light and fish cooked perfectly. Excellent service too, so we'll definitely be coming back.

Really nice pub we have been in a few times. The owners have plenty of time to chat and be polite. The ales are really nice quickly becoming one of my favourite pubs in louth.

Thursday pie night is unbelievable. Pork belly and black pudding pie, chips and mushy peas with a little extra gravy. The best pub meal I've had in a long time. The pie had amazing flavour, belly pork melted in my mouth and the gravy was something else. Dog friendly in the bar and outdoors, staff helpful and everything very fairly priced. If I'm ever back in the area I will return.

Excellent for a well cooked Sunday lunch and a beer or glass of wine. Don't forget to ring up and book though.

Turned up after spontaneously deciding we wanted dinner. The staff accommodated us and we were made very welcome. Service was excellent. Food wonderful. Good value for money. Only here a few days more but will be returning. 100% recommend.

Went for Sunday lunch with the family, staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble. Some bits sold out but another offer was given. You get plenty to eat. Would happily go back.

Dropped in here on the off chance we could eat on A Sunday lunchtime around 12.30..tables fully booked but we were offered the chance to eat outside on a table. Great beef, excellent veg pl selection and a decent portion. Same with the vegetarian option.. excellent. A great range of real ale, I chose the Bateman's Gold and it was very good. A greatt experience and would definitely return.

Loads of people in the restaurant, but we got served in good time. We were waited on throughout the stay and staff were always available. We had a table of 8 and the food all came out together, nice and hot. Prices were good. each couple paid less than £50 for main meal and 2 or 3 drinks per couple. A good result.

Great place in the centre of Louth. Food was brilliant. We were a party of two adults and three children between 10 and 14, we did book in advance. The junior menu is especially good. The right amount of food for under 15's. Not many places have a junior menu as well as a child menu. Drinks pricey but food very reasonable. Will visit again.

I've been waiting to try this place for some time as you MUST book in advance, and I was not disappointed! Service was second to none, the staff genuinely care about your experience, this is backed up by amazing food, the steak in particular is one of the best I have had in years, the milkshakes were huge, and the desserts really hit the spot! I have to say this is the best restaurant I have been to in Lincs so far, and I would highly recommend 👍🏻

New venture for the chef and family. Food very good as you'd expect from a chef who was formally head chef at a Michelin star restaurant. Covers are split over two floors. Choice to select your own dishes "al a carte" or go for the "chefs choice" which is a tasting menu. Definitely worth a visit and no doubt will be listed in all the food guide books very soon

I’ve previously dined at Winteringham Fields so I was very excited to try top notch dining in a slightly more relaxed and informal setting by a chef with a Michelin background. I wasn’t disappointed, excellent food at a reasonable price. Upstairs seating is up a steep and narrow set of stairs so will not be suitable for those with mobility issues- however there is also downstairs seating so please specify downstairs seating when making a reservation if accessibility is important to you.

Just had a birthday lunch at this new restaurant and it exceeded our expectations. The food, drinks, service and ambience were all first class and the best we've experienced in Louth in the past seven years. The only negative was the pop music from the speaker above our table was a bit loud for conversation, but the waitress turned it down accordingly and checked with us if it was ok, so she turned a negative into a positive. This is not a restaurant that skimps on quality, so it's pricier than other restaurants around, but it is very good value for money given the overall experience and very high quality of the food offerings. "Menu du Jour" for two, covers all the options, so we tried everything between us. Already booked a return visit with friends. Highly recommended!

Great food made from excellent ingredients accompanied by wonderful service. We opted for the chefs choice of six dishes, one of us being pescatarian, and everything was delicious from fresh oysters through to strawberries and cream... I am under selling it ....every dish was well balanced and full of flavour. Service was not only with a smile, attentive but not over the top, but also providing a full description of each and every course and the elements it contained. A lovely meal, and we will be back when we are next in the area.

A lovely warming & welcoming fireplace, with some nice warming food to go with. Some very delicious buffalo wings as part of a platter were very much enjoyed. Staff equally as welcoming (and their hounds too). One to revisit methinks.

Absolutely delicious burgers. I had hallumi and pineapple, my husband had the boars head burger. I can honestly say they were the best burgers we've had and the chips and salad were wonderful too. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to come back!!!

Very nice meal. 4 fish and chips, 1 they grilled for us plus 1 halloumi burger. All excellent. The pub was cold, it was a December lunchtime. The barman was unsuccessful in lighting the fire. Good range of beers. Went whilst visiting relatives in Louth. Parked in a free car park around the corner.

5* isn't enough for the Boars Head. First time we have eaten here and definitely won't be the last. The owners are so welcoming and treat you like old friends. Good choice of beers. The food is excellent all home-made. My wife had the scampi and l had the crispy pork belly with mustard mash from the specials board. Sticky toffee pudding and orange chocolate brownie for dessert. Cannot fault the place

Nice plates from which to feast. Some nice traditional grub with some nice choices for variety. Dog friendly which is helpful. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Nice surroundings, the open fire is toasty and outdoors areas are pleasant too. Visited again for more hearty grub, some gluten free options which were handy for some of our group. Enjoyed an impromptu pub quiz courtesy of the landlord which was fun. Revisited a few times since, the hearth is as ever warming and the food good.

I stopped here for a coffee before a morning walk around the village. It's a beautiful little pub conveniently placed for nearby walks. It was wonderfully decorated for Christmas. Special shout out to Jeff who showed me around!

Had a lovely meal with family just after Christmas. As local Lincs people the Splash is an old haunt for us (my elderly mum did some of her courting here back in the day). As ever, the food was amazing. Beautiful steak and stilton pie with proper pastry, creamy mash and perfectly cooked veggies. The grilled haddock was both big and just cooked right.... Fresh, flaky and tasty. We had just enough room for their tasty desserts. Can recommend the sticky ginger toffee pudding. We just wish the staff could be more warm, welcoming and friendly. A smile, a welcome, some conversation with customers would really make this the perfect evening out. The food is so good that the lack of service isn't enough to stop us coming. But I would love to be able to give you five stars. Come on the management... A couple of team meetings, some training and checking would raise the warmth and quality of service to a standard that matches the food and environment.

Found this pub a mile away from the hotel we were staying at. What a great pub! The food was fantastic and really well priced. Staff were friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend

we came in this afternoon for a meal and a drink, when we asked about the food the bloke behind the bar told us due to delivery issues they was a limited menu and me and my partner really enjoyed our food and them chips was so good that we will be back for more of them

Great food and service. Lovely atmosphere and ideally located with plenty of free parking. Staff are very accommodating and always have a smile for you.

Working in the local area and staying in Louth but not at the king's head , so can't comment on the rooms as not stayed here, but the food is great, home cooked and much better than ping meals elsewhere. Reasonably priced beer. TVs with sports on, pleasant staff and nice atmosphere

Popped in for lunch with friends, all of us ordered the lasagna, which despite a wee wait, was worth it. Clearly made from scratch, and done properly. Served hot, with a delicious garnish salad and chips. Very tasty. Service was spot on. Clean toilets, and nice atmosphere overall. Can’t comment on rooms as haven’t stayed.

We called in as we heard it is a lovely place. We was not disappointed, next time we will try the food as heard that is very good.

Attended a party here, the staff were friendly and the food was hot and plentiful.

We found Archie's on Google when looking for Brunch along our Travel-Route, phoned and booked in advance. On arrival we received the warmest of greetings, we were seated right away and the Breakfast Menu Choice was amazing. Our food was excellent, fresh, tasty and hot.

My wife and I dropped in for a breakfast. Great food that was well cooked and presented. Dog friendly cafe too.

Another update: back for full English with a friend today. Excellent! The only thing I'd change on my several visits now are the quality of the serviettes, they are must have thousands of them as the lack of quality let's this jewel down. Update: Visited today, still excellent! Had poached eggs, spinach and hollandaise sauce with a cappuccino. A new and hidden gem in Pawn Shop Passage. Vibrant, friendly and accommodating staff. Had English breakfast as this was a first visit, figured I'd start with a benchmark. Very satisfied although next time, I'll choose poached or scrambled egg rather than fried. Hey, that's a reason to go back! There's a canine menu, afternoon teas, plus there are cocktails too.
