Reviews
Went to celebrate a late Mother’s Day with my sister and mum. We went about late afternoon so it wasn’t busy but when we left, the restaurant was quite full. The atmosphere was beautiful and very nice especially with a little music to accompany our visit. The server was very friendly and gave us the option of choosing where to sit (table or booth). Also helped with choosing our dishes, letting us know that 2 options would be sufficient enough for 3 people as each dish is quite big. I recommend the Trio of Briwatts for a starter and I really liked the Couscous Royale Marrakech (the caramelised onions really hit the spot and added to the dish). For dessert, we were shown a taster platter which helped in picking what we wanted. I got chocolate cake with cream. I’d love to visit again and try some other Moroccan foods and a different dessert.
If you're looking for an authentic Moroccan dining experience, this restaurant is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, you're transported straight to Morocco—the intricate lanterns, colorful mosaic tiles, and traditional music create an atmosphere that's both warm and enchanting. The decor is stunning and truly reflects Moroccan culture in every detail. It’s like stepping into a riad in Marrakech, with cozy seating, dim lighting, and that unmistakable North African charm. The food is just as impressive. Every dish is bursting with flavor—perfectly spiced tagines, fluffy couscous, and melt-in-your-mouth chicken. The use of traditional spices and fresh ingredients makes each bite a delight. The ambience is lively yet relaxed, making it ideal for both romantic dinners and group gatherings. The staff is friendly and attentive, adding to the overall welcoming feel of the place. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to experience the rich culture and cuisine of Morocco without leaving town. A hidden treasure that deserves all the praise it gets!
Lovely food great atmosphere. Starters were hot and delicious. The main courses blew our minds. The food is fresh and the guys that own. It were informative and friendly. We will be back for sure.
It's not every occasion I give an all 5 star review on food, service, and atmosphere to a restaurant, but yesterday (22nd December 2024), everything we experienced was just perfect. Maybe it is because we were starving and cold, never mind, it is what it is. We were lucky to get a table, as I have read other reviews, where some say you need to book in advance as it gets busy and this restaurant is not the biggest compared to others, but this is what gives it its charm and homely feeling. Also, I love the fact that the background music wasn't blaring at top volume (which I have experienced at certain establishments), so we could converse across the table without the need to shout. As someone who comes from southern Africa, I did enjoy the decor and cultural influences it is inspired by. More reason why we felt at home and on top of that, there was no time limit set on, so we ate at a very leisurely pace, enjoying every bite, smell, and taste. Divine! I think we must have been there for about 2 hours, and at no stage did we feel rushed. I noticed some of the other customers were also very comfortable, eating and chatting away. The food was piping hot when it arrived. Service was superb and fast. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive. Smiles all around. Made us feel right at home. I would say, if you order a tagine, be prepared to wait a little for the food to cool down before woofing it down...don't want you to burn your mouth and tongue. I don't like cold food, but this was a bit too hot (warm). Luckily, we had starters, so it didn't bother us to wait another little longer before tucking in. We had the lamb tagine off the set menu. This included a few options both for the main meal and the starters. I had the falafel and salad. My partner had the calamari. I cannot fault our tagines, wow, just wow. The lamb was cooked just right, tender, and flavourful. The carrots and peas and the potatoes. One of the best tagines I've ever had. We managed to finish it, but barely. Very filling for the price. You can choose rice, couscous, or chips to go with tagine. I had the couscous, and my wife had the rice. The 2 course set menu is great value for money. There are so many great choices to choose from on the normal menu. We definitely would come back and try other options. My son had the chicken wrap with a side salad and an extra portion of fries. He can be very picky with food, but his only complaint was that the wrap was huge and there was too much chicken in it. We both ended our meals with a warm beverage, I had peppermint tea, and my wife chose the mint option...not sure the exact difference. Both were refreshing and just what the Dr ordered. Definitely would recommend this restaurant if you ever feel the urge to have some wholesome food in a great atmosphere with very nice serving staff. Well worth it. Please note they do add a service charge to your bill. It's about 10%. I always tip when we eat out and give about 10%, so no harm done, but I do get slightly annoyed when restaurants do this and take my choice away. Seems to be the thing that most establishments do, I wish they wouldn't. Let me choose how much (if any) based on my experience of the food, the service, the ambiance, etc. That's just my own personal view on this. Thank you for reading my review. Recommended: YES. Here are some images from yesterday. Enjoy. The lighting is a little dim, so I couldn't snap a nice image of the full main menu, sorry.
This is a fantastic authentic taste of Morocco. The setting, decor and ambience is stunning. The food is very well priced and the portions are very generous, 5 star all round.
