We had the pleasure of dining at this incredible restaurant, from start to finish everything exceeded our expectations. The food was absolutely phenomenal, rich authentic flavors that transported us straight to Bangladesh. Every dish was clearly made with care, using quality ingredients and traditional techniques. What truly made the experience unforgettable was the staff. They were incredibly attentive, warm, and genuinely focused on making sure our entire party was comfortable and well taken care of. From dietary preferences to special requests, they catered to everything with a smile. If you’re looking for a place that delivers both exceptional cuisine and top-tier service, look no further. This spot is a gem – we’ll definitely be coming back! Thank you 1971
All of the staff at 1971 Curry House are professional, polite, and can’t do enough for you. The atmosphere is Zaman always goes the extra mile with his warm and attentive service. The strawberry mojito is divine, and the Achari is my favourite dish — full of flavour and perfectly spiced. The chef’s specials are also a must try. The atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming, and perfect for any occasion. one of our favourite dining spots in Harpenden! We have also introduced our friends to this restaurant who also loved it.
We had a fantastic date night here last night. The staff were welcoming, attentive and consistently checked in on us to ensure we were OK or needed anything. The food was gorgeous. We shared plates between us and everything was rich a full of flavour. The decor was beautiful with great attention to detail. The atmosphere was spot on too! We will definitely be back.
Popped into this Indian restaurant on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. I started with the prawns kebab, lamb chops, and chicken tikka lamb tikka—each one cooked to perfection with bold, smoky flavours. For the main, I went for a spicy lamb curry that had just the right kick and depth of flavour. The garlic naan was soft, warm, and perfect for mopping up the sauce. The service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was cosy and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!
