Sarah Hall and her team are amazing! The class sizes are small and each child is given work tailored to their own level. My children started from foundation/Year 1 and are still attending 3 years later. All the children come out of their sessions with a smile on their face and the tutors provide a happy and supportive environment where I have seen my children flourish.

If you’re seeking a tutor to support your child with the grammar school entrance exam, I’d 100 percent recommend Jack at Tutor First. Jack provided a complimentary session to assess if our son had the academic ability for the school and exam, midway through year three. We decided to commence sending our son to Jack for one hour a week from the start of year four. Initially, Jack supported our son with foundation work, with a particular focus on handwriting. Most importantly he built a great rapport with our son. Jack’s approach was very tailored and he was also very good at advising how we could support our son at home too. Over the past two years, there’s never been lots of homework or pressure, just constant support and encouragement. Even in the weeks nearing the exam, it was very relaxed. What impressed me the most, besides Jack’s ability to understand his students, was his commitment to mental health support and creating an inclusive, supportive and fun community. With Jack’s support our son met the standard required for the grammar school.

My daughter has been attending Yorkshire Education Sevices for a couple of years and karen has been absolutely fantastic. My daughter has always struggled with maths but since attending tuition with Karen and then Jon when she started in year 11, she has moved up a maths set at school and has improved massively. My daughter is just about to sit her maths GCSE & I really feel that Karen & Jon have given her the confidence she needs to do really well. Excellent tutors, wouldn't go anywhere else. They tutored my eldest child in Maths and now tutor my youngest in English. They adapt the lessons according to each individual child, homework that is set is relevant and you receive feedback after each session. They are also flexible if you need to change the odd lesson and offer holidays dates too.

I found First Tutors online when looking for someone to show me how to use Microsoft Powerpoint. I must admit I have had a fantastic experience on their website. My daughter started her education with satchel learning about 2 years ago. It’s helped her a lot with her education. Now she is ready to take the exam.

This is the second time I have used the satchel classes for 11 plus tuition for my children since my first experience with satchel led to my daughter gaining a very comfortable place at crossley Heath grammar school. Please note this was the only tuition she used. Richard’s planning of the materials tailored to my child’s needs is really helpful and improved my child’s weak areas and most importantly my son loves coming here. As a parent I am always assured and updated my child’s progress but Richard is always supportive of any queries/ help I need. The English gcse classes are also quite popular and I will be putting my child’s name down for these gcse.
