This evening we had our precious cat of 19yrs put to sleep. Vaughan and his staff were excellent. So compassionate and caring and allowed us time at the end to say our goodbyes without being rushed or pressured.

Really refreshing and lucky to have an excellent, professional, and privately owned veterinary practice so close to home. Vaughn listens to your concerns, is thorough and incredibly knowledgable. We are always made to feel welcome by Christie and the nursing team and cannot recommend Three Cross vets highly enough. They treat your pet as if it were their own and you cannot ask more than that !

My 16 yr old cat became suddenly very ill, I rang Castle vets and I saw us the same day. They were incredibly caring and reassuring towards my pets needs. Reception staff are also amazing and very friendly. I will never take any of my pets any where else. Thank you Castle vets.

Thank you Castle Vets. My dog had a half-yearly checkup today. The vet has just called me with the results of a blood test for a potential issue identified in the routine assessment. I'm impressed at the scrutiny, turnaround in the labwork, and the follow-up.

My Nelly has had a few issues and had to have an emergency op due to eating a fish hook! She was referred by Castle to a vet hospital and it was arranged very quickly. I can't fault the team at both Dorchester Road and Poundbury at all. Reasonably priced in vet terms I think and I would highly recommend.

Vets4Pets - Poole Holes Bay

Rating: 4.7 (366) Price Level:

This veterinary practice is not my usual vets (we are registered with one about 15 miles from home) but I needed my 13 year old dog to be seen quickly so took her locally to Vets4Pets Holes Bay. We saw a vet named Dan (NOT the owner, another Dan) who was absolutely brilliant. Very sadly, our dog was PTS but Dan was brilliant, before, during and after. We spoke at length, he didnā€™t rush me, time wasnā€™t an issue, he understood my concerns, he listened and advised with compassion. Absolutely brilliant vet. So on this one occasion we needed this surgery , the vet we saw was exemplary. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Vicky Effemy the vet nurse and also the receptionist (donā€™t know her name) I spoke to that morning, were incredibly comforting for which I am very grateful.

Our Tommy stuck a spikelet up his nose as we were queuing to get on the ferry back to France. We arrived at the clinic and everyone was absolutely superb with him and with us. Tommy is quite an excitable young dog and can be snappy when scared. No one judged him or us for it. They got his spikelet out and gave us clear instructions that they adapted to our ferry journey the next day. We are truly happy to have had our Tommy sorted by this team of very helpful people. Thanks !

Dan Makin is an exceptional vet, we wont go anywhere else - Max our cat has been described as well behaved and easy to handle by Dan - but this is down to Dan understanding Max and his needs because he is not like this with other vets we have used prior to moving to Dorset. Max is a large cat nearly 14 years old and knows who he likes and who he doesnt like but when Dan holds Max in his arms, Max is calm and I have never seen a vet handle Max in this way which re assures me that Max is happy during and after any treatment. Dan and his team care go the extra mile for the animals and owners, we are not local to Poole about a 30 minute drive from the practice but we wont go any where else for his treatment and care. Thank you Dan for being so caring to Max and to his fussy Mum - you are so understanding and exceptional in your role of being a Vet - we are lucky to have you as our vet

Exceptional Veterinary Practice. Although I have been a client for many years, my dog Jack seldom needs care. Recently however he was suffering a gland problem.. Jack is an imported rescue and the BVA recommend a safeguarding procedure (blood test) prior to any surgery in such cases due to possible Brucellosis infection. I was uncertain of the benefits, but was able to have a practical and sensible discussion with Giles, beforehand Jack had the procedure under sedation & Giles whipped out a loose back tooth too. Jack is not insured, but I was given an estimate of cost at our initial consultation which matched our final invoice. Thank you Giles, it seems to have done the trick and Jack has forgiven you (almost!)

Unfortunately while on holiday near Bridport my cocker spaniel suffered an injury to her hip, I found a local vet called Bredy Veterinary Centre and they were amazing. A phone call got me an appointment within 1 hour and the treatment from the lady vet was wonderful, she carefully examined my dog from nose to tail, found the problem and administered pain relief. Although we were complete strangers, we were made to feel like regulars, the whole experience from start to finish was amazing, I would like to thank everyone at Bredys

We had to visit Bredy Vets with our poorly cocker spanial whilst on holiday. I have to say the service we received from start to finish was fantastic. From the initial call from the reception team the nurse and Jon the vet he explained everything fully and in simple terms. Ordered in special food and went above and beyond. Wish our local vets where half as good. Would not hesitate to recommend these guys. Thanks for everything you did for us. James

I've used Alan Sim for about 10 years. On the odd occasion I've had to use others in Dorset ( read Medivet & vets for pets) I have been the victim of vet theft. Larceny. I've never ever been to the vets expecting to make new friends, unlike other reviews here. All local corporate vets have charges that make the BMW garage owner blush. I appreciate a direct and straightforward style. I need to be told my dog is overweight and if I don't clean her teeth I'll be paying for cleaning and extractions. I'm not being charged for or expecting sympathy, tea and biscuits. I appreciate that the vets priority is his patient not the owners feelings. If I've any gripe at all it's that they do not issue prescriptions. A service id pay for. But then I can go elsewhere for this service. I'm at a loss to understand why reviewers prefer the ' are you insured ? ' approach practiced elsewhere.

Alan saved our Chihuahua, she gave both to two breach puppies at home, as they to large to be born naturally. Alan gave her a c section and saved a puppy and found another puppy which had died. We are very grateful for his support throughout and his ability to save Mummy dog and a puppy. Both doing amazingly well.
