The food is excellent—flavorful without being overly salty, with generous portion sizes. Almost all dishes are priced under £14, and the fresh Ayran is a standout feature. The restaurant is fully halal, alcohol-free, and accepts both cash and card payments. The only downside? Parking can be quite challenging.

I had an amazing experience at SHKAR, a fantastic Turkish restaurant! The hospitality was truly heartwarming. They served a complimentary dal soup and Turkish tea, which was a lovely touch. I ordered a sandwich, and it was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. The best part? The total was only £3.50, making it a great value for such high-quality food. What truly impressed me was that they also provided a space for prayer, which shows their thoughtfulness and care for customers. This made my visit even more special. I was missing home cooked Kurdish meals. Delighted to discover that every Friday some of my favorites are served at Shkar. Got the Kubba today. It did not disappoint!!

I had the Lamb Qozi it was really tasty, a great proportion with free accompaniments. The service is very friendly and accommodating. Great value for money, it’s definitely one to add to your list!

Amazing Grill House with Value for Money ! We ordered Boneless Grill , Chilli cheese fries , Veg Platter Grill , Naan , Mojito and Ginger beer . Quality of the food was satisfying Portion size is great thereby justifying and exceeding expectations. Service was friendly and efficient , the ladies serving us were prompt . Ambience is decent , the room for improvement will be their mocktails and bar service which needs more training . Overall, worth a visit !!

Amazing food and service! We ordered the Soho Mixed Grill, butter chicken and garlic naan. Highly recommend this place to eat if you’re in Birmingham. We visited the Soho Tavern on Park Road. On arrival, parking is an issue... cars parked on both sides and situated in a run down area. Inside the decor is nicely done, the staff are friendly and also catered for us very well. It was cold as we ate with our winter jackets on and the bathroom tap water was freezing cold as was the dryer. The food tasted amazing! We had the vegan sizzler, 2 x curries, and naan. The salad was crunchy which was nice. If you're around Birmingham this is a nice place to visit for food (despite the parking).

Me & a friend of mine drove from London to Birmingham. There are no words to describe the Authenticity of the food. The flavors are very rich and the meat is beyond tender. I have been going here for quite some time. And honestly, one of the best if not the best Kurdish/middle eastern restaurant in Birmingham. The others are either too small or the food is not quality. Awa has great food that is consistently good. They should really update their menu and they left off a lot of stuff they serve.

Been going here since first opened, got better every time.. Most delicious midle eastern cuisine and fresh meat every day! Highly recommend this place, especially their grill is unreal! The Fish at this restaurant is absolutely amazing! Full of flavours and beautifully presented. The atmosphere isn't bad, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. It’s clear that a lot of care and passion goes into everything here. We definitely will come back!

Had a wonderful experience dining here! Food was really Delicious and I also had drinks included so I was well pleased. There was a variety of starters, main course dishes and desserts with extra ice cream. Had easy access to refill food instantly as many times with out having to wait at a very reasonable price! Overall the staff and manager were warm and welcoming adding to the great service so soon I’ll say “here we go again!” 🤩🤩🤩🤩

Really nice food, the mix grill was awesome. Nice and cool inside with weather as hot as it is outside. Went with family.. the naan's are big and so soft. Will be coming in again soon.

I certainly had an awesome experience at this cuisine. Both female and male staff were cooperative and helpful. Food was given quickly and the customer service was excellent. I have often come across poor customer service and rudeness from Other restaurant, but definitely not here. The best so far for me! I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Very nice traditional Kurdish food. The restaurant is easy to find and it has a very big car park at the back. The staff are very friendly they give you free soup and naan bread. I have been coming here for about three years now, and the food is always consistent. Nice fresh and tasty. The mix grill is my favourite the kebabs are amazing.

We ordered a variety of dishes including Qozi, Dolma, Delmi, and mixed shish kebabs with fries. The portions were generous, and each dish was incredibly filling. Despite our appetites, we couldn't finish everything we ordered. The food was both delicious and reasonably priced, making it a great option for those on a budget. If you're hungry and looking for a satisfying meal without breaking the bank, this place is definitely best place and worth trying!

We celebrated our joint birthdays here and had a fabulous time. The place looks bigger than it does on the outside. We all had Sunday roasts, which were delicious. The beef was tender, flavoursome and cooked very well. The vegetarian feta pie was full flavour. All came was generous portions of trimmings. The service was friendly and prompt and we enjoyed the cheery atmosphere. We would definitely be back again.

We dropped by here for dinner and got a table without a booking on a Friday evening. The place looks great and it's a lot bigger than it seems from the outside. They have a decent selection of food and all the food we had was tasty. They have a decent selection of drinks as well, though the Margarita failed to impress so we stuck to beers. The prices are quite high and they also add a 10% charge - a ridiculous money-grabbing practice that needs to stop, so -1 star for that.

I left a detailed review on Trip advisor. Just wanna give a big shout out to Kelly. A massive credit to the team. Looked after a party of 17 at last minutes notice and did it with a smile. She even sung happy birthday when bringing a cake out. I appreciate good service and would return just for her. Food was ok. Pricey for what it is but I guess you are paying for the atmosphere and vibes too. Food was hot and served on time and cocktails were good. Would return.

This place is like the Dr. Who`s Tardis, small from the outside and very big inside. Had a Sunday Lunch with some friends and wow best Sunday Roast I have had so far. The beef is tender and full of juice and not dry at all. The Chicken is also tender and full of juice. The place is very nice and friendly. Also it is a good place to have a beer or 2 and watch the sports on the TV.

Been here twice in 10 days it's that good. If you want proper food at a reasonable price this is the place. Friendly staff, tasty fresh food and good customer service is all here! The lamb qozi and the lamb kebabs are highly recommended. I tried the seabass but it wad too strong tasting and had way too much lemon that I couldn't eat it (i asked for less lemon when ordering). The waitress was so accommodating and swapped the dish with no questions asked. Rare to find this standard of customer service so well done. Top place I highly recommend.

Kurdistan Restaurant is a fantastic place for freshly prepared food. The ribs and liver are some of the best I’ve had—tender, full of flavour, and cooked to perfection. Their kebabs are also top-notch, tasty and delicious. Every dish we tried was packed with flavour and made with care. If you're after a meal that's both hearty and full of rich, authentic taste, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

Definitely a fan of this place, the service was fantastic and welcoming, the pub itself is huge, spacious and comfortable, the food is good, not up there with the best I've had, but still very good. There's a fairly good beer selection. The prices are very reasonable compared to other places these days. Nice touch serving complimentary poppadoms shortly before the food comes out.

Went to The New Garden Gate and it was epic! Started with Chilli Chips – spicy and addictive. The Paneer was super creamy and the Chicken and Lamb were full of flavor. Hard to pick a favorite. The service was top-notch. Staff were friendly and quick, making the whole place feel like a family-run business. They made us feel right at home. And guess what? We even met the owner! It was great to see the person behind the food, and they were really welcoming, adding to that family vibe. The place was clean with a nice, cozy vibe, perfect for grabbing some comfort food. Overall, The New Garden Gate is a winner. Fantastic food, awesome people, and a family feel that makes you want to return. Totally going back, and you should too if you’re into tasty Indian food.
