āWe attended at lunchtime, booking for my partnerās 40th. We were greeted warmly, and the service was exemplar from start to finish. The cocktails were delicious, as were the mocktails. The starting snacks were next level, especially the Parmesan crisp with mushroom mousse! The tasting 7 menu really wowed, the quail with smoked cashew, the halibut, and the venison were real standout dishes, but the blackberry dessert was next level - the word for that dessert is āexquisiteā! We felt honoured to be the first to try the new dessert too! An extra nod of gratuity for being so careful about my shellfish allergy too, it is so appreciated. Thank you for an incredible afternoon - we have left full up and not stopped revelling in the experience since getting home.ā

āAn amazing steak place with good quantity steak especially the marinated ones. The sauces are good as well. The menu to share is not for sharing between 2 people though, more like one proper meal with 2 sides and 2 sauces while an ordinary steak would have one side and a sauce. Decent desert menu. Tried the prawns in the starter, it is amazing.ā

āRecently came here for a friends birthday meal (bottomless brunch) it was well worth the price point. The atmosphere, food and drinks were very lovely. We were served by an amazing server named Alex and he went above and beyond with his hospitality! The ambience was very relaxed and chill. Overall, an amazing experience and definitely will come back to las iguanas for a bottomless brunch!ā

āWe dropped by here for dinner and got a table without a booking on a Friday evening. The place looks great and it's a lot bigger than it seems from the outside. They have a decent selection of food and all the food we had was tasty. They have a decent selection of drinks as well, though the Margarita failed to impress so we stuck to beers. The prices are quite high and they also add a 10% charge - a ridiculous money-grabbing practice that needs to stop, so -1 star for that.ā

āI've been to the other branch in Birmingham and loved it, so I thought I'd try this one as its alot more central location ( note gave the other branch 5/5) Foods 10/10 just like the other site, the only thing that lets this branch down is the staff. 1 out of the 3 staff who dealt with us was really good! The other two were just not very friendly.... It's worth going just for the food! But I would recommend just going to the other branch ( about 20 minutes away )ā

Santorini Greek Restaurant
16 Hurst St, Birmingham B5 4BN, UK
Phone: 0121 643 5205
āWe visited during a very busy time, and there werenāt any free tables. However, they went out of their way to make one for us, which was a nice gesture. The staff were lively and welcoming, as Greek people always are, which added to the atmosphere. Unfortunately, despite paying more than Ā£100, we didnāt enjoy the food. It just didnāt live up to our expectations, which was disappointing given the price.ā

The Aston Tavern
10 Aston Hall Rd, Birmingham B6 7FF, UK
Phone: 0121 328 0095
āWhilst attending a local hospitality event we chose the Aston Tavern to stay over, the bedrooms were very well presented and the beds very comfortable, it was like being going back in time but with all the modern day requirements. This establishment has been refurbished to a very high standard maintaining all the character you would expect from a building of this age. With a large garden and various bar rooms to converse, this is one not to be missed and look forwards to staying hear again.ā

ā***Review 1*** So I'm giving San Carlo a 3 out of 5 rating, which I feel is very reasonable. Let's start with the positive! The food was actually DELICIOUS!!!! The steak and oysters were to die for! The reason I'm only giving 3 stars is for the service. Now, let me say that the staff were very apologetic but it still ruined the experience slightly. Our reservation was for 7.30pm, we arrived on time as we were already in the area. The table wasn't ready so we were asked to wait at the bar. At 8.05pm we were still waiting for our table. At around 8.15pm we were seated and our order was taken. At 8.45pm we still hadn't even had any drinks. I know this seems a little harsh, but 3 out of my 4 plates were cold/raw and didn't even require cooking. There was no option to remove the service which I didn't feel was deserved. Was the food worth it, ABSOLUTELY! ***Review 2*** After having a horrendous experience at The Oyster Club we decided to walk over the road to San Carlo. I have to say against all odds, we were able to be seated immediately. The food was served waaaaay quicker this time and the restaurant itself seem to be running a lot smoother!!! Again, the food was very nice quality. The Chablis wine is delicious!!!! They've definitely redeemed themselves, which has made me edit and improve my Review. Thank you for saving my birthday meal!!!!ā
