We used Brickendon Grange Golf Club for my dad’s 90th birthday party. It was fabulous! The room was light and airy with lovely views, the hot fork buffet was delicious and all the staff were really helpful. Parking was easy too. Everyone said what a lovely time they’d had.

Dear Stephen and the Team at Brickendon Golf Club, I am writing to express my sincere gratitude on behalf of all the members from Abridge Golf Club for hosting my Captain's Away Day yesterday. We had an absolutely fantastic day, and I received overwhelmingly positive feedback from everyone who played. The course was in excellent condition, a true credit to your greens staff. The hospitality was superb, and the food was delicious – everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Thank you for making us feel so incredibly welcome at your club. I played this course as part of an away fixture. The first time that I've played the course and was really pleasantly surprised. The club house is an extended manor house with a very modern dining and patio area behind the main entrance. The practice area is pretty good with separate nets, putting green, chipping area and grass range. The only down side was, that because it is corporate owned i presume, that there was a function going on which meant the place was packed and we had to park adjacent to the grass range, leaving numerous cars in danger of an errant golf ball from there. The course itself is a tree lined parkland course with some really nice holes. There is enough elevation throughout the course to make for some great views but it does mean that you are playing a couple of blind approach shots. The course was in great condition. The fairways had really good coverage, the greens were of a good standard with a consistent roll and had enough slope on them to make for some challenging putts. The trees around the course provide some testing drives but with plenty of space further out for longer hitters. A couple of nice dog leg holes require accurate tee shots with challenging approaches. The final hole is a good looking par 3 up hill, with a view into the patio area. The members were friendly and the food was good. There were parts of the course that were still a little damp but there is a fair amount of water in the way of pond or streams to add further challenges into your round so not that surprising. Overall well worth a visit but it definitely should be played off the back tees to get the most out of your time there.

Visitors for the first time. Played the Old Course which was great - testing holes, well maintained greens, beautiful surroundings. Staff very welcoming and accommodating, made to feel very welcome. Will definitely be back with more friends to play again. Highly recommended.

We recently had our wedding at Essendon Country Club, and we truly couldn’t be happier with our experience. From start to finish, the day was absolutely perfect – it was everything we had dreamed of and more. The team went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly, and their attention to detail made all the difference. The food was absolutely delicious – we’re still getting compliments from our guests who had a fabulous time and haven’t stopped talking about how amazing the day was. The setting was beautiful, the atmosphere warm and welcoming, and the staff were exceptional throughout. We are so grateful to have chosen Essendon CC for our special day – it really was the best day of our lives. We will never forget our trips in the golf buggy and the laughs we had along the way! Jo and Fiona we owe you more than words can ever say, you were nothing short of amazing throughout the planning and execution of our wedding day! Thank you again for making it so memorable!

Can’t recommend Essendon Country Club enough. We had our wedding day 03.05.2025 and I will never forgot it! Everyone said how beautiful the venue was. The whole team at Essendon are extremely helpful and communication was amazing! I can’t thank Jo and Fiona enough for everything they helped us with and answering all our questions. We wish we could do it all over again. The farm house is beautiful and was definitely a must to avoid any stress the morning of the wedding! Essendon set our wedding up for us and it was exactly how I wanted. Thank you so so much again!! Bonnie & Lee xx

One of my favourite courses. Well kept greens and fairways. Very fast greens when we played in August which made it very challenging. Beautiful scenery on both new and old courses. Good well stocked bar and full menu for breakfast lunch and dinner. We play here once a year for a Society Day but made an effort to have a warm up game as such a lovely place. Staff are friendly throughout the club. Now after over a year the sauna and baths are open again. Golf shop has a nice choice of golfing goods.

I have been many times for lunch or dinner and its always fantastic. Brilliant food and great service. The best restaurant in the area, great views, very friendly staff and its a lovely place to relax for a couple of hours.

My first time at the venue. Having left a nearby crematorium we head d here to cel beaten the death of a good family friend. Greeted at a h door by a young lady we were warmly welcomed. Hot coffee followed by some good food. For such an occasion this is wonderful venue. A golf course with wonderful food. There is also a good restaurant on site that we will visit in the future.

Had a fantastic time playing the High Course. The fairways and greens were in decent condition and the pace of play was smooth. Big thanks to Ben who went above and beyond - my last minute booking was handled efficiently and he also gave me a tour of the beautiful clubhouse. Looking forward to coming back to play the West Course next time.

We were delighted to capture a wedding at the stunning Moor Park recently and in terms of wedding venues in and around London, this is the place to get married. It had everything you could wish for and more! Great food, kind staff, beautiful views and more. Thank you guys for all your help on the day - it was much appreciated.

I went for a mendi party. Place was easy to find, and there was plenty of parking available. Light food and drinks were served in the various function rooms.

We celebrated a work do here, and it was truly unforgettable. The manicured grounds are nothing short of spectacular—perfect for photos or a leisurely stroll between events. Inside, the interior is elegant and thoughtfully designed, striking the ideal balance between grandeur and warmth. And the food was simply outstanding: each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Overall, Moor Park delivered an exceptional experience from start to finish.

Enjoyable course but at least three of the greens were in a dire state. I see from another post of one month ago that these greens are temporary but they don't appear to have improved or grown out since that time. Frustrating to see your ball being diverted by the numerous ridges on these greens. When I mentioned it to a staff member he just shrugged his shoulders. Not quite the standards I expected as the fees for non members are not cheap but still an enjoyable game of golf nonetheless.

Great Top tracer driving range equipment with all the golf simulators. Great course and super well looked after. Friendly staff and extremely welcoming.

Fantastic golf course, picturesque greens, and fairways. State of the art range to practice your game. The clubhouse/restaurant is super modern and spotlessly clean. The food was really tasty and the service was excellent. I'll definitely be coming back for more.

First time playing at The Hertfordshire and it didn't disappoint. The staff in the pro shop were very welcoming and the shop itself had a decent collection on offer. The course was in great condition. The greens were true from one hole to the next and gave great confidence with the putter knowing you could trust the roll. The rough was tough. Quite thick and grabby but a fair punishment for being off line. Overall a brilliant course and a great challenge with all sorts of holes on offer. Not too long, not too short. I shot 90 which was slightly better than average for me if it helps give a guide as to how you might get on.

First time at the club today. Taken here by my 82 year old neighbour, who is a member here. Ain't played for 20 years lol Tried driving range, putting green, was welcomed by, professional, friendly staff, had a cup of tea at the bar, watched Olympics, lovely place to be. Definitely going back, will review food and try a round of golf ⛳️ Easy parking, disabled access, beautiful surroundings. Highly recommend so far, update ASAP.

The Hertfordshire is a course set around a converted country estate and for which from speaking to members some course changes are in the plans. It has a driving range and practice putting area with some nice slopes across the putting green to test your green reading. It is reasonably well maintained with some very pleasant looking holes playing across water. The biggest challenge however is its tests of driving accuracy being cut amongst some very well established tree lines giving what appears to be from the tee, some very tight angles. When i played it, it was in good condition even though i understand that the club has recently lost its head green keeper. The fairways had good coverage and the greens were consistent which as a weekend golfer is all I'm really after. There doesn't appear to be much in the way of fairway sprinklers though as when i played it was drying out as can be seen in the pictures. It does look a bit tatty around some of the tees as there were no tee or rubbish bins meaning that there were a lot of broken tees lying around. Also there were no ball washers which to my mind shows a more corporate rather than golfer friendly mindset. However this didn't affect the playability of the course and some of my balls enjoyed a good soaking in the water hazards anyway. Whilst I really liked the aesthetics of the course it is quite challenging hence the slope rating with very tight drives and punishing rough. It's a course I'd very happily play again which is ultimately all that matters.

Great venue for functions! Friendly staff and atmosphere. Beautiful grounds and views from the club house, especially at sunset time. Would recommended

Very nice golf club. Staff throughout are very friendly and welcoming. Course is challenging with lots of water hazards. A few tight fairways which keep you concentrating. Real sand in all the bunkers which makes a change from a lot of clubs now. Fairways were a bit dry, could of done with a good watering or rain. Greens are really good well kept and very fast when we were here. Tees and greens were well watered. There was one hole on the back 9 (can't remember what number) which is very near to a sewage plant. If the winds blowing the wrong way then you get an awful stench 🤢 Good food menu, and good choice of drinks, however, the Guinness was off for our visit ☹️. Would definitely play here again.

Would recommend a visit here to anyone. Really enjoyed this course! Had a great last 5 holes coming home. The holes(15,16,17) in the trees are very picturesque! Playing off yellows makes the first couple holes very short. I think it is worth playing off the whites here, we changed to whites after a couple holes. Genuinely was surprised at how good it was. Greens ran true and fairly quick, Fairways were hard, but not in a bad way, greens were receptive, tee boxes were level, 2nd cut rough was very long! But as it wasn’t a long course I appreciated having to keep it straight off the tee. Bunkers around greens were good condition. But fairway bunkers had a few larger rocks in it. I like the long grass lining the bunkers. Is a nice look. Overall it’s a great course for the price. I will be visiting back here soon without a doubt.

Very nice society day at Mid Herts. Considering the time of year (16 Nov) and recent rain the course was in good condition. Reception was friendly and welcoming with a well stocked bar. Food was excellent, pie and mash, perfect after a damp round.

A really lovely course. A very warm welcome on arrival and a detailed explanation of the course before we set out. Given the heavy rain the last few days and the fact most courses in the area were shut I was amazed at the quality of the course. The greens were brilliant and fairways too. It can feel like a quite compact course at times, some of the tee boxes are very close to the greens which require accurate approach shots as they are refreshingly petit. A thoroughly great course definitely worth seeking out if you are within an hour or so.

The course is well kept even after some pretty terrible weather recently. Some moderately challenging holes. Very enjoyable experience.

A warm welcome with good service and tasty food. Course has some interesting and excellent holes and a few very plain ones. A bit more time on course presentation including definition of cuts, along with faster summer greens would make this 5*. However, it is well experiencing this track :)

Best condition I've seen the course in. Fabulous half way hut with home made Yummies. Great food in clubhouse.

A wedding anniversary celebration was held there. The food was excellent and the facilities were top class.
