Amazing little golf course, better condition greens than some 18 hole courses. As for the 10th hole it is absolutely fantastic, smash burger and chips it’s a 10 out of 10, pizza 9,3/4 out of 10, chicken wrap gets a 9. Just got to have Bacon and maple pancakes and the ice cream and toffee sauce ones. Also 9 hole bacon roll and a pint =£20, Footgolf and Discgolf as well on site Well worth a visit

Wheathampstead Golf Course is a true hidden gem. Visited today, The course itself is well-maintained and offers a fun yet challenging round for golfers of all levels. What really sets it apart, though, is the outstanding hospitality. The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always go the extra mile to ensure a great experience. The clubhouse serves fantastic food—fresh, hearty, and perfect after a day on the course. Whether you're there for the golf or just a good meal in a relaxed setting, it's well worth a visit.

Had some fantastic pizzas in the sunshine today. Sat in peaceful surroundings. Available Wednesday to Sunday. Highly recommend this local gem.

This golf course is by far the best I've played to date, specifically the old course. The fairways and greens are impeccably maintained, while the rough is minimal. The setting is breathtaking, and the facilities are outstanding. Moreover, the club restaurant served incredibly delicious food with generous portions. If only I lived closer, I would undoubtedly join without any hesitation. I'm eagerly looking forward to playing the new course on my next visit.

We recently had our wedding at Essendon Country Club, and we truly couldn’t be happier with our experience. From start to finish, the day was absolutely perfect – it was everything we had dreamed of and more. The team went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly, and their attention to detail made all the difference. The food was absolutely delicious – we’re still getting compliments from our guests who had a fabulous time and haven’t stopped talking about how amazing the day was. The setting was beautiful, the atmosphere warm and welcoming, and the staff were exceptional throughout. We are so grateful to have chosen Essendon CC for our special day – it really was the best day of our lives. We will never forget our trips in the golf buggy and the laughs we had along the way! Jo and Fiona we owe you more than words can ever say, you were nothing short of amazing throughout the planning and execution of our wedding day! Thank you again for making it so memorable!

Can’t recommend Essendon Country Club enough. We had our wedding day 03.05.2025 and I will never forgot it! Everyone said how beautiful the venue was. The whole team at Essendon are extremely helpful and communication was amazing! I can’t thank Jo and Fiona enough for everything they helped us with and answering all our questions. We wish we could do it all over again. The farm house is beautiful and was definitely a must to avoid any stress the morning of the wedding! One of my favourite courses. Well kept greens and fairways. Very fast greens when we played in August which made it very challenging. Beautiful scenery on both new and old courses. Good well stocked bar and full menu for breakfast lunch and dinner. We play here once a year for a Society Day but made an effort to have a warm up game as such a lovely place. Staff are friendly throughout the club. Now after over a year the sauna and baths are open again. Golf shop has a nice choice of golfing goods.

Course was in brilliant condition and is a challenging yet enjoyable round. Prices of consumables were very fair and the staff were in general helpful and polite. The course was let down by the Marshall on duty. BE WARNED, my group went round in 3:45 today. We were told three times we were too slow, despite being right up to the members in front of us. Interestingly enough, once these members had finished on hole 9, we weren’t spoken to again, seems it wasn’t us holding people up?

A beautiful course with lots of interesting Holes. The Fairways are wide and well kept as are all the greens. Some of the greens are difficult to read as they have slopes and undulations. I really enjoyed playing the course on the 1st of July

Brilliant course we'll maintained friendly staff and a well stocked half way house ran by Julie who makes incredible brownies 😋, will definitely go back next year. The club house is very welcoming and the three course meal we had was excellent.

Another Foxes league match against Brookmans Park Golf Club, we lost the match 3 - 1. A traditional club lots of nostalgia everywhere in the club house, our hosts welcomed us to their club in a really friendly way. It's a parkland course with several long challenging par 4's, 5 x par 3's and 4 x par 5's, from the white tees it measures 6,487 yards. All tee boxes, greens and fairways are good quality playing surfaces. Today it played a bit longer as the ground was dead from recent wet weather, so it was a bit tough. Afterwards at the meal we had a Yorkshire pudding filled with roasted veg, mash and sausages, check out the picture of the food, delicious! I will return had a great day, on an old fashioned parkland mature course.

Superb practice facility. 12 bays, with new srixon balls, 2 huge greens for chipping and pitching. Top quality bunkers around both greens. You can become a member of Brocket Hall or just be a member of the academy, either way it is members only.

Still one of the best Hertfordshire courses. Played the Melbourne and in surprisingly good condition.

We used Brickendon Grange Golf Club for my dad’s 90th birthday party. It was fabulous! The room was light and airy with lovely views, the hot fork buffet was delicious and all the staff were really helpful. Parking was easy too. Everyone said what a lovely time they’d had.

We held a small family party (low key) at Brickendon Grange. It is a lovely building in well kept grounds. The staff were very efficient and attentive. They decorated the table for us beautifully and clearly had spent some time doing this. We were in the Oak Room, which was very suitable for 19 of us to be seated comfortably. The food was lovely (vegetarians catered for). Cannot fault it .

Loved filming a wedding at this venue! Very unique and special place.

Fantastic venue for a golf event, two fabulous courses, of course hotel and all the facilities you would expect at an old house.

Palmerston Golf Course @ Brockett Hall provided us with a well manicured and a picturesque setting. The undulating and changing landscape provided us lots of fun and excitement during our game which we chose to walk. Highly recommended. Great course and country estate location only half an hour’s drive from north London

Attended a family birthday party in the function room. Lovely setting, great staff and very good catering.

Had a great day out at WGCGC staff were very friendly and helpful, as were all the club members we met.course is in very good condition especially after the wet weather of the winter, challenging course with some beautiful views not the flattest to say the least but very enjoyable

Lovely course. Very well kept fairways beautifully manicured. Greens are fantastic, well looked after and run true. Lovely scenery as you make your way round the course. Quite hilly but lots of buggies on offer. Very friendly and helpful staff in the pro shop. Bar staff are very welcoming, a good choice of beers and spirits. Decent food menue. Looking forward to coming back again in the near future.

Verulam Golf Course was an excellent choice for our society golf day! The course was well-maintained, and the scenery was great. The facilities were top-notch, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Special thanks to Nick for his help in making the day run smoothly. His assistance was invaluable, and we really appreciated his expertise. Would definitely recommend Verulam for golf days.

Great course. Very well kept all round from beautiful fairways to carpet like greens. Beautiful views and lovely established trees. Whilst enjoying a game of golf like walking in a country park. Only 3 par 5s and 3 par 3s but some of the par 4s are long and tricky. Some unusual tee boxes which adds to the challenge. Club house is nice and makes you realise just how old this course is and the prestigious history. Bar has good choice of spirits, draft and bottled beers. Friendly and helpful staff throughout from Bar to pro shop. Pro shop is small but has a good selection of clothes and equipment. Buggies and electric trolleys for hire. Looking forward to playing here again soon!

Absolutely brilliant venue. Nice and clean. Brilliant staff helpful. Food was amazing. Wheelchair and Disability access. Toilet facility available. Ample Parking facility available with extra parking spaces. Members only golf club unfortunately. Architecture and decor was superb and kept so neat and tidy with history of the building.

We celebrated a work do here, and it was truly unforgettable. The manicured grounds are nothing short of spectacular—perfect for photos or a leisurely stroll between events. Inside, the interior is elegant and thoughtfully designed, striking the ideal balance between grandeur and warmth. And the food was simply outstanding: each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Overall, Moor Park delivered an exceptional experience from start to finish.

I went for a mendi party. Place was easy to find, and there was plenty of parking available. Light food and drinks were served in the various function rooms.

Had a fantastic time playing the High Course. The fairways and greens were in decent condition and the pace of play was smooth. Big thanks to Ben who went above and beyond - my last minute booking was handled efficiently and he also gave me a tour of the beautiful clubhouse. Looking forward to coming back to play the West Course next time.
