Amazing food & great staff, friendly and smiling. We had some fantastic food, the chips were very large, but the taste was fantastic, I was happy I did not put tomato sauce on, the haddock was really fresh & the batter light & crispy, a slice of lemon, tartare sauce & mushy peas. My wife had the mezze plate & she said it was really good, with plenty of different items on it. Our son had the rice bowl peanut satay, it was full of flavours & plenty of it, with chicken added at extra cost. Definitely quality food at reasonable prices, & portion sizes. A good selection of drinks at the bar. We felt we had been looked after as customers & we were happy with the food we had for the cost. Nothing was greasy, everything tasted & looked fresh & hot food Well done Fishpond, we would definitely come back. Some tables were reserved, so to avoid disappointment, it might be worth ringing if you want to eat here.

Had a thoroughly good evening here , some very good service and food was impressive. Had the dirty onion burger, and it was gorgeous, really high quality meat cooked with the slightest blush of pink, sauces and onions all complemented and enhanced the burger. Chips were proper chips one of the best burgers I've had in a long time.

Came here for a Sunday dinner with friends. Was about £33 for two carveries so not bad. Was really impressed with the carvery in that there was 8 meat options, including how you wanted your meat. You could have rare beef, medium beef, gammon, turkey, medium lamb, well done lamb and a couple of others. You could also have a nut roast too. Love the variety of meats to suit everyone. The mash was also very good. Everything else was standard. The parsnips and carrots were not peeled, and they were plain boiled parsnips not honey roasted. The peas were on the crunchier side and I prefer my veg soft. They had cheesy leeks and cauliflower cheese. It is not very good for labelling as I knew not all the veg was vegetarian. The red cabbage was picked and not stated that was not nice. The roast potatoes were crunchy but a little dry. The Yorkshire was big but not my favourite. Was worth the try for the meat

My wife and I called here on a rainy Sunday afternoon, as the place where we had in mind was closed. We were greeted with a friendly welcome when we arrived and directed to a seating area. We both had the Sunday Carvery and weren't disappointed at all. There was a good selection of locally sourced meats, and as a nice touch, we could choose if we wanted the meat, rare, medium or well done. A good selection of hot fresh vegetables and the red cabbage was to die for. We both left with full bellies. On a separate note, there was also a good selection of hand pulled beers, for the beer lovers. Would I recommend and return. Definitely. I would. Popped in with the missus for a spot of lunch, which quickly escalated into a dining delight! I chose the bagels with smoked salmon, and she chose poached eggs on toast with crushed avocado. Both meals were absolutely perfect, great textures, balance of flavours, and the portions were both generous and very reasonably priced. Touches like a drizzle of balsamic vinegar, and a seeded bagel, rather than a plain one, just shows the level of care and attention put into their food. Throw in some fresh spinach and eggs cooked to perfection, what more could you want?Cake! That’s what!! Even though we were both full, we simply couldn’t leave without a couple of the cakes on display, they simply looked amazing. And they were! Thoroughly recommend these lovely people, the fantastic food, great location, and one more bonus…they allow dogs, which meant we got a bit of a doggo fix too!! Brilliant 👍

A well proportioned cafe plenty of outside dining space and good parking. Offers a wide range of tasty looking breakfasts with vegetarian options. The first time I have been offered a raspberry jam croissant, but it was quite nice. I would imagine this place is very busy during tourist season. Prices seem reasonable for the quality offered. Staff are .pleasant

We stopped here for breakfast on our way to the Tramway Museum. It had a welcoming and cosy atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was delicious and it was nice to have beans and hash brown bites with the omelette to make it feel like a full meal. I originally ordered a chai latte but it was far too sweet for me to drink, I ask to swap it with another hot drink and this was done with no problem and at no extra charge. We will definitely be returning.

Lovely Farm, Shop & Café… I was met by a member of the team who explained it was table service, which was lovely to hear! As I didn’t expect it. The service was excellent and had a nice chat with the girl that served me, so keep up the good work! I traveled about an hour but want somewhere calm and peaceful, which was perfect! Highly recommend 😍

I did a butchery masterclass with butchery manager Justin and his colleague yesterday. A fantastic experience delivered in a professional yet friendly manner which thankfully catered for an absolute novice. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. Thanks again to all involved in making my 50th so memorable, much appreciated. With Justin at the helm it's hardly surprising that Croots has the best butchery in the area 👌🏻

I've been going to Croots for many years now but not been recently so popped along this morning. All there stuff is so tasty. Friendly staff. Their award winning sausages are really good in a toad in the hole. So much lovely stuff in their deli section. Highly recommended Also its a unique shopping experience often having to wait for sheep to move off the road on your drive up to the farm shop, you don't get that at your supermarket LOL.

We took our grandson to the lights day on Saturday 9.11.24. We arrived about 1.30 and left about 7pm. All the staff and volunteers are so friendly and very informative about the trams, the museum, and their life as the character they are dressed in. It was very chilly and they must have been very cold, but they were brilliant. Beautiful old trams in very good condition all lit up allso lots of other things to see and do. Great day out we all really enjoyed it. Thank you to you all and very well done 👏

I went there the other week with my daughter and grandad kids. It's a great place to visit for all age groups. We had a 2 1/2 year old and a 7 month old baby, pram access was no problem as there are ramps down to the main area, which is only 20 ft or so. There are tram rides up to the top all day long and usually 3 different trams to ride on. At the top there is a walk back down (if you want to ) through the woods with different things for kids to see, there is a playground for kids as well. There are loads of old trams in an exhibition hall from all over the world and one you can go in and have a look around. There is a cafe, a pub, a gift shop, an old fashioned sweet shop and ice cream parlour. It's a great day out for all ages and abilities

Excellent day out, made all the better by the people who run it. We were there in a large group of all ages, and everyone enjoyed it. Packed full of history and great to ride the trams. They're currently building a new cafe so it'll be even better when that's finished.

Fantastic day for the family. So much to see and do, a full days worth of adventure. We started by getting the 10.30am tram, after handing over our pennies to the conductor (pennies given to us at the entrance after paying admission) we received a ticket in return. We rode the full line then got off and wandered up to see a performance from "Notice this notice" theatre company (brilliant)! We walked to the children's play area, clean and well maintained, lots of seating. Another tram ride, some lunch, another tram ride then we stopped off so we could go along the woodland walk, where we saw some fantastic wood carvings and sculptures, played the drums, ran round the labyrinth, back to the park, then soft play, followed by ice-cream, more trams, the workshop, and more. We can't wait to return and explore this place again. The volunteers are all lovely, friendly and passionate! Extremely welcoming people! Thanks

This is one of the best days out I’ve had with my kids. My kids are 5 and 3 and loved everything about the village and the whole day. We were there for most of the day and still didn’t do all of it. We rode on a lot of teams which were so lovely- like stepping back in time. The staff were so friendly and lovely throughout the day- from our warm welcome to our warm departure. Such a great day. The kids love the tram exhibition room and the indoor soft play too. We had sweets from the sweet shop, a drink in the pub and I would like to see what the new cafe is like as I think it will do good business and I hope it’s in keeping with the village. Would highly recommend and we will be coming back- free for 12 months too!

My partner and I have been here a few times now and unfortunately iv never left a review so here it goes...to start we both had a 3 course meal plus 1 coke each and it came to 93 pound which with the quality of the food and the excellent service it was worth every penny..I would strongly recommend the rooms which are amazing with a beautiful view or to go for a meal which never fails to impress..all in all if you live close or within travel distance id pay them a visit because you won't be disappointed..

Lovely pub, had lunch there today. Food was delicious and staff friendly and attentive. We both had mushroom soup to start and for mains I had the butternut squash Wellington and my partner had chicken and ham pie. The pub was cosy with the log burner going and the price is as expected when eating out in the locality.

Came here for a nice little date night, been 4 times total, first for Sunday lunches which I remember being good but pricey. Last time I came for dinner and had Belly pork - 2 pieces were obviously reheated and the last of 3 pieces was clearly fresher. We went last night and I risked the belly pork - It wasn't good; bearly chewable and was super difficult to get through with a knife. Chicken my partner ordered was cooked really well and was juicy. Everything was quite bland, though. Service felt pressured, disjointed and impatient.

we have been cromford many times, this was first time visit this pub. a table was booked in advance. the boat inn is located at a small alleyway that's the reason why we did not notice this pub. the pub / restaurant was cosy and the service was good. the prices of dishes were reasonable as well as the portion sizes. we ordered parsley and apple soup, whitebaits, moroccan lamb tagine and steak and ale pie and all dishes were delicious. we will definite go back again.

We decided to visit here whilst in Cromford after visiting White Peak Distillery not to far away. Whilst visiting here the four of us decided to go for all three courses; starters, main & dessert. For starters we had the soup of the day & nachos sharer. Both were good, however it would have been nice to have sour cream & guacamole on the nachos too. For mains I personally chose the gammon & egg, this was cooked & tasted just right. My wife & two friends also liked their main meals. For dessert I decided to go for the chocolate brownie, with ice cream which worked well. I decided to go for the brownie, with ice cream which worked well & my decided to go for the treacle sponge, which you don’t get often on dessert menus, but tasted great. This would definitely be a place to visit again if in the area.

We visited Pesto for the first time and were presently surprised by the food, service and atmosphere. We had the lunch option which meant that we could pick from a number of parts which were grouped into three price brackets. We had three plates each (6 total), shared them between us and they were the perfect amount to satisfy both of us. I would recommend visiting Pesto as I think it is one of the better examples of a small chain.

Really nice restaurant, staff were very kind and quick to take orders. Food was really good, reccomend getting 3 dishes each and sharing. All had good taste and portion sizes together weren’t too bad! Would recommend the meatballs! Would definitely come back 👍🏼

Amazing food as always can't fault it however the service was disappointing to say the least, got sat at an outside table but waited for at least 20 minutes for some to come and take a drink order however no one came, so approached a member of staff to left them know we where ready. Bearing in mind they had already taken food and drink orders from tables seated after us, we then ordered food and drinks at the same time and then food was brought out pretty sharply but no drinks and no cutlery either. Shame has always been a great place to eat and never had issues in the past.

Lovely!! Went with the Mrs to celebrate our anniversary and couldn't have asked for a better night. David our server was polite and nice to chat too. The food was delicious and not over priced. Will definitely be going here again and highly recommend it to anyone who likes food.

Well, what can I say other than this is my favourite pub. Me, My partner and dog were staying in a lovely Air BnB in the village, and I don't think we had one day where we did not visit the pub for a drink. The staff was so friendly, especially the landlady Emma. Extremely dog friendly, and I couldn't thank them or the locals anymore for their warm hospitality. By the end of our holiday, I felt like one of the locals. Highly recommend a visit to this pub when visiting this beautiful village.

Lovely quirky pub with a good atmosphere they try to cater for everyone as best they can. Dogs are welcome. It's a nice place to call in for a quick bite to eat and drink whilst out walking or just for a pint if you're ever in the village. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The pub has a nice large function room and a smaller room just off the main bar if you wanted a quieter drink or have a larger group that wants to be nearer to one another around a table and be a little more private.

We held our wedding at the White Hart Inn on Saturday 24 August 2024 and it was nothing short of wonderful. The day was perfect and absolutely seamless thanks to the wonderful staff at the venue. We would like to say a huge thank you to Katy our wedding planner, whose attention to detail, patience, knowledge and care was second to none. Katy expertly guided us through the intricate journey of wedding planning, answered all of our questions and was always super helpful. The wider staff team were also amazing and genuinely couldn't do enough for us. We would highly recommend this beautiful venue. Thank you so much - we will treasure the memories forever. We had our wedding reception at The White Hart and couldn't fault the service from start to finish! Our coordinator Katy was super helpful and always responded to our questions and emails and was very flexible, nothing was too much trouble! Even having three tractors rock up! On the day the staff set out decor up perfectly and were really responsive! The food was incredible and the bar had a fab variety! The hotel rooms were so luxurious with lovely little touches like a hamper with biscuits and face masks and robes and slippers!

We had our wedding at The White Hart and we had the most incredible day. The staff are so attentive and kind, the food was incredible and we could not have asked for more. Katy the coordinator made sure everything ran smoothly, and the day was perfect from start to finish. Thank you so much to the White Hart team, you all work so incredibly hard and we appreciated every person involved in our day. Cannot recommend this wedding venue enough!

Had a takeaway whilst on holiday last week, and the wife and I both agreed it was the best Chicken Tilka Massala we'd ever had. This curry is not a spicy one, so i asked them to make mine hotter. This just made it so much better. It was a bit expensive. 2 curries, 1 coconut rice, 1 pashwari naan, 4 poppadoms (these went soft pretty quick) and 3 sauces (mint, mango, onion salad) for £37. Apparently we got lucky with our takeaway, according to a local, their takeaways are a bit hit and miss. Ours was definitely a hit. Like I say, THE best CTM we've ever had.

Great personal service and fantastic food. They really took the time to help us choose our meals and even tailored them for us. The food was just great! I wish I lived closer as I'd be visiting more often. Don't forget to pop to the shop next door if you want a beer with your dinner.

Fabulous food and great service. I don’t usually rate restaurants especially Indian Cuisine unless they’re really good. The Jeera certainly is very good. My Lamb Tikka Naga was one of the best curries I’ve had in a long time
