Lovely quirky pub with a good atmosphere they try to cater for everyone as best they can. Dogs are welcome. It's a nice place to call in for a quick bite to eat and drink whilst out walking or just for a pint if you're ever in the village. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The pub has a nice large function room and a smaller room just off the main bar if you wanted a quieter drink or have a larger group that wants to be nearer to one another around a table and be a little more private.
The people were really friendly and welcoming. We even joined in with their quiz night, which was a lot of fun.
They don't serve food after 5 but said we were welcome to get some fish and chips and eat inside.
Well, what can I say other than this is my favourite pub. Me, My partner and dog were staying in a lovely Air BnB in the village, and I don't think we had one day where we did not visit the pub for a drink. The staff was so friendly, especially the landlady Emma. Extremely dog friendly, and I couldn't thank them or the locals anymore for their warm hospitality. By the end of our holiday, I felt like one of the locals. Highly recommend a visit to this pub when visiting this beautiful village.
Visited on a recent trio to peak district. Had a fantastic Sunday roast and went back next day as it was so good. Great burger and very good chips
Just had the chefs burger and cheekily asked if I could upgrade the chips to their side order of dirty fries. They happily obliged and understandably charged a little more. Absolutely worth it, that was a fantastic dinner 👌. Cracking selection of beers too.
