I'd almost rather not review the School House Cafe, and to keep it to myself. Its noble aim, as I understand, is to give work experience to autistic students. That doesn't imply anything about the atmosphere, which is totally relaxed and friendly.
The food, which is vegetable-based, is interesting and delicious, plus affordable. There is a small regular menu, supplemented by daily specials.
It is a real asset to Bermondsey, but it would be in any location.
Excellent food and coffee. Lovely outdoor area. So cheap too!
Feels so nice to be helping the community while enjoying a delicious breakfast! The cafe is teaching employment skills to young people with autism.
PS they are cash only. Closest ATM is not that far away, at the Tesco Express :)
Beautiful cafe and beautiful people, food is lovely (vegetarian). Great cafe and school. We go to meet my mother as she has worked here for over thirty years for lunch.
