Had a lovely experience yesterday! Very family friendly (we had a pram, and they put out a baby change for us). The service was very good. The little finishing touches of bringing cutlery on a plate and sauce on a little side plate, too, made it a more pleasant experience. Food is an amazing value for money! Also full for the entirety of our time there, which I feel speaks volumes!

I’m an independent carer and care for a lady with dementia. On this day my lady wouldn’t come out of the car, I popped in and asked if they offered take away - without hesitation the lady was very accommodating and told me what she would be able to do for me. They were very quick! Very friendly! I’ll definitely be back here to try some warmer meals. Special menu had lots of offer and the food I was seeing be served looked delicious! I look forward to returning. Inside, the cafe had a very cosy feeling. What a lovely place to stumble across! They even gave us some wooden trays to take with us to eat on and offered to help me to the car! The baguettes and salad we had tasted so fresh and was very lovely! Thank you very much. I can’t recommend this place enough!

My mum, dad and myself had been here on a previous trip to Ashbourne, but only had a cappuccino with the time getting on, and we found it to be a lovely place. So this time, on a solo trip, I decided to stop by for breakfast, which came with two sausages, bacon, baked beans, mushroom, a tomato, black pudding, hash browns, fried bread and white or brown toast. Thankfully, it wasn't too crowded inside and I was able to choose a table at the bottom, nearest the counter, as these are great for solo customers or a party of two. Had a look through the menu, and chose the regular breakfast with granary toast and a cappuccino for the drink. Super cosy place with awesome chairs and tables (going for the marbled look, complimenting the black and white chairs very well!) It was clean and I noticed, by the side, there was a glass jar of dog treats and some blankets, so I think well-behaved dogs are allowed. The lady who served me, as well as the other ladies, were super pleasant and very friendly. Food came out and was presented nicely on the plate, everything hot and cooked to perfection! The fried egg was fabulous and runny, the sausages well-seasoned (proper ones too, not like some you get elsewhere). The hash browns were nice and crispy, not soggy at all! Very filling and certainly set me up for the day. I think the breakfast and cappuccino came to about £16 altogether, which I don't think is bad at all, considering everything was fresh. Would have no hesitation coming back in the future, and would HIGHLY recommend! Many thanks to the staff at Café Impromptu!

Great café serving a delicious brunch and lunch menu, plus excellent cakes and sweet treats. They have clear vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options throughout the menu. Good food, friendly service and a lovely environment.

Always absolutely lovely at The Sudbury Stables; today was no different for Laura-Marie's Toastie & Talk event I regularly addend. The staff are lovely (thanks in particular to Johnny for understanding my order across a busy table when I am softly spoken!) and to the chef (James?) for the delicious Hot Goat*, as always! Decaf also tastes so close to full caf, it's a brilliant ✨ See you again soon! *Goats cheese toastie 😅

5/5. Great prices for food & drinks. Just over £10 for a drink & full English breakfast. Even did a vegetarian breakfast version for me. Lovely atmosphere & friendly staff. Didn’t charge extra for alternative milks in drinks either.

Great selection of hot and cold drinks and quick bites. The decor is quirky, and alongside the music choices, the atmosphere is fun, friendly and one of nostalgia. Would definitely recommend.

What a great place to have a coffee! Staff are friendly, the food is delicious & well priced. I had a latte and a slice of cake, the cake was super yummy and the coffee was well made with cute art, both were prepared quickly. I was most impressed by the decorations, it's an eclectic space that makes you feel cozy. The toilet was clean, the tables were clean, and there's shaded outdoor seating. Books and board games are on offer too, well worth a visit for the whole experience.

Went to watch Big Stone Gap on Sunday. Had a lovely afternoon. Great little place. Really nice staff and a good vibe to the place. Hope to hear them again here.

Yesterday I made my first visit to Fueled to meet friends for the St Patrick's Day quiz. We went a bit earlier to eat first. I had a full English which was lovely. The coffee too. The quiz was fun but a bit rushed. We enjoyed it though. What I wanted to compliment most was the friendliness and efficiency of the hardworking staff. They never stopped! Then whilst we were quizzing they were cleaning and tidying up. A great team! Only down side for me is dogs being allowed in. Luckily managed to get table at the back where dogs would not walk past me. Well done everyone. The portuguese tart was yummy too!

Christmas pizza night ! This is our favourite breakfast spot and our go to in town. We had to check out their Christmas pizza menu night and it didn’t disappoint. The pizzas and cocktails were 10/10 and the staff were lovely as always. We will be back for our usual brunch tomorrow ! But such a great evening with something different to offer :) getting us into the festive mood !

Chloe’s Bakehouse is an absolute gem! The coffee is consistently excellent—rich, smooth, and perfectly brewed every time. The homemade cakes are a real highlight: fresh, delicious, and clearly made with care and love (the lemon drizzle and brownies are next-level!). What really makes this place special, though, is the staff. Friendly, welcoming, and always happy to chat or help you pick something tasty—it’s the kind of place where you instantly feel at home. Highly recommended whether you're popping in mid bike ride for a quick coffee and cake or settling in for a sweet treat and a catch-up with friends.

We had coffee and cake here as a stop off between Ashbourne and Derby. The cake portions were generous and beautifully presented, and the coffee was delicious. The place was busy and had a happy, bubbly atmosphere, not somewhere to go for a quiet coffee 🙂 but perfect if you like company. Dogs are allowed, and everyone was lovely. The place itself has been thoughtfully and tastefully designed, and there is ample parking. It does sneak up on you on the road into or out of Brailsford, though,so be aware.

Its a shame Google doesn't offer 6 stars as this Bakehouse deserves 6. Attention to detail is what this cafe (Bakehouse & Coffee shop) is all about. I visited the other day during a long hike and was so impressed by the hospitality, the bakery and coffee that I had, that I just had to return two days later to show my wife. Over several decades I have visited many such businesses for a coffee and a snack and this is absolutely one of the best. If you are reading this review with a view to visiting dont look any further, just visit, you will also be impressed. ☆☆☆☆☆☆

Super coffee shop in Brailsford. Well worth driving from Ashbourne for! It’s definitely the best coffee shop in the area. Staff are very friendly and the cakes are all freshly made by Chloe. The gluten free ones are very tasty! The coffee is so nice as well!! Easy parking, all the staff are so welcoming. Very popular every time we have visited - takeaways are also busy here and many people just popping in for a box of cakes! Do not hesitate to visit here :)

My wife and I pop in here whenever we are passing on a Saturday morning for a breakfast cob, the ladies do a fabulous job, any profit goes to charity, either eat in or take out. With thanks to the marvelous team of ladies

Good place to host parties / gatherings. Great "breakfast club" on a Saturday morning. Nice kitchen, clean toilets. Decent car park. Situated in a lovely village.

Photo shows Doveridge Village Club which is next door to the Village Hall. The club is a locally run business which hold Open Mike on the first Sunday of each month at 4pm-7pm. All welcome either to play or just to listen and enjoy the atmosphere. There are many other events here. Excellent club. Serves some food (pizza) and good handpulled beers.

Very popular well-stocked farm shop with plenty of top quality food on sale, especially their own-made pies and pastries. There is a good selection on their cafe menu from coffee and cake to a proper meal. Service is very good with plenty of helpful staff on hand. Prices are a tiny bit high but you get what you pay for. The milkshakes are great! There is plenty of indoor seating and an outdoor picnic area with a large cabin but be warned, this is a working farm and the air can be a bit rich 😀

Wonderful place to visit, especially if you have a four legged friend. We had lunch in the outside area, which is dog friendly. They even have a indoor space for days it's not pleasant to sit outside for dog owners. The food and drink is lovely, especially the scones. The service is exemplary, they couldn't be any more friendly and courteous. A must visit in my opinion.

Simple homely food done rather well. Sausage and mash with seasonal veg with flavoursome gravy of just the right consistency. The sausages from the farm shop were seasoned well and of good quality, paired with a buttery mash. Veg had clearly been prepared earlier and kept warm, leading to some dryness and for the pod of peas a rubbery nature. Despite this it was still a very enjoyable meal. It was peak time on a sunday but even with this context service was still slow. The food was relatively good value. The scone to follow was sweet and crumbly, however planting a butter knife on the plate with an uncut scone just led to it crumbling to dust covering the plate it came on. A small pot of clotted cream and jam just wasn't enough for a scone of that size. Parking wasn't the easiest, but the cows backing onto the car park almost made the struggle worth it. Nothing to write home about but I'd recommend Denstone if you have a craving for classic home-style food.

Exceptional experience. This was our first ever visit with our 4 legged friend and the welcome could not have been any more warmer. The servers were chatty, polite and ready to explain anything and everything about their menu. I had my first taste of a rice crispie chicken burger and all I can say is wow! You must try to appreciate it. Hot chocolate and coffee we would go as far the say the BEST in Derbyshire. We can’t wait to return.

Lovely cafe, visited whilst in the area for my Hen party. Had booked a table for 6, order at the counter and food and drinks came very quickly. Recommend the mango and passion fruit pancakes. Food presented very well and I think the prices are fair.

we had a spontaneous trip to Ashbourne and this cafe caught our attention straight away. And so good we came there! I loved the decor, and menu offers so much more than a typical cafe. We had butternut squash on toast (looked and tasted great) , my partner had pancakes with bacon, breaded chicken with maple syrup.. sooo delicious! and coffee - that's another big STAR for amazing ones. I had a beetroot latte (rarely on the menu at most cafes) - it was perfect. We already planning to come back to Ashbourne in the summer

Nice small bakery/deli close to the centre of Ashbourne. We enjoyed the baked goods so much that we went twice! The first time we had a cappuccino cake and a rum truffle. The second time we had a rocky road and viennese whirl. The shop has a nice selection of products and the service was good the both times we went. We are looking forward to going again when we are next in Ashbourne.

Went into Ashbourne to find somewhere for lunch. We walked past Cheddar Gorge and were instantly drawn in! Everything you could want in a deli! Huge selection of different cheeses, sauces, relish, homemade pastries and a plethora of cakes! My husband went for the New York Deli sandwich and was blown away. Pastrami, sauerkraut, gherkins, rocket and soft bread. Photo doesn’t do it justice as he wanted to delve in straight away. We will definitely return the next time we’re in Ashbourne!

Perfect lunch after a walk in the peaks. Deli sandwiches are ENORMOUS and more importantly very tasty. Amazing variety and value for money.

Great decor, quirky fittings, some great photos and posters. Did not eat, so cannot comment on the food. Bubbly bar girls. Good view of passing world outside. Nice Hells Lager, but for some reason it took 10 minutes to serve 2 pints to our table, with no other customers..

Beaumonts of Ashbourne. Straight away, you feel welcome. Staff was very friendly and the new member of the staff was brilliant. Inside and out are beautiful. Lots to choose from A fabulous full English breakfast To Naughty, stunning yummy cakes 🎂 I have to say the sausages are amazing and I can honestly say they are lovely very meaty. I really couldn't fault the food at all. I had water to drink as I don't normally drink anything else apart from an early morning coffee. Again very friendly and was happy serving just water as a drink. People may ask why I mention this as some places are funny about serving water. It came as a surprise to be offered to sit outside or in. From the front door it looks small but once inside, it's stunning. I will return and definitely somewhere I'd be happy to take my friends and family. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 Thank you Emma

Really lovely lunch on the terrace today which would have been 5* if the staff were able to drinks orders and payment at the table rather than having to leave food to go cold and go in to order and pay! But, yes, lovely fresh food, tasty menu, great outdoor space and pleasent staff. Thank you!

Popped in for a cuppa after a long walk. It was great to sit in the window and watch the world go by - a lovely spot! Darjeeling was excellent, staff very friendly and nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend
