Fabulous evening at Coventrys Gourmet Food Kitchen with Chef Tony & his wife Debs. It's a tasting menu with a maximum of 12 people sat a one large table. You get to chat with the other guests & with the hosts as the restaurant is lovely & intimate - like being invited to a dinner party, where you have a view of the kitchen. Bring your own booze as it's not able to provide bar facilities. This is great, as it keeps down the cost & you know you are going to enjoy the drinks - you brought them! Glasses, bottle opener & water are provided. Now to the food, each dish was delicious but I'll let the photos do most of the talking. So many processes & so much work goes into each one. As an example, the Home smoked Duck- smoked in a aged oak whisky barrel. The Duck croquettes- Confit leg of Duck with a Duck reduction. Portion sizes are generous for fine dining but luckily my son was there to help out as my appetite couldn't finish every dish. When it came to the dessert - sublime Lemon tart, with just the right amount of sharp to sweet for me, I had to concede & took home some of the Lemon tart with the Honey Tuelle & the petite fours. Far to scrumptious to let my son have, besides, he was pretty full by then too. This was my 2nd visit & I will definitely return again for the fine dining. Haven't tried the other menu's - Such as Breakfast & Fish & Chips but fully intend too.

I feel so lucky to have experienced the magic of the Gourmet Food Kitchen in Fargo Village, Coventry. My visit in March was a belated birthday treat, and what an unforgettable gift it turned out to be! This intimate dining experience is truly one-of-a-kind, and it’s incredible to think such a culinary gem is right here in the heart of our city. The restaurant is the brainchild of Tony Davies, a local chef with a world-class pedigree, having worked in some of the best kitchens across Europe. Now settled in Fargo Village, Tony has created a unique and personal dining space where just 12 lucky guests share a chef’s table experience (bring your own alcohol— helps the wallet!). It’s an up-close and personal way to enjoy Tony’s passion for food. What made the evening even more special for me was Tony’s thoughtfulness and attention to detail. I have food allergies, which can sometimes make eating out a little daunting, but Tony took the time to accommodate my needs without compromising on flavor or the experience. It was clear he genuinely cares about his guests and wants everyone to enjoy the meal to its fullest. The tasting menu we enjoyed that evening was absolutely stunning. From the creamy Celeriac Veloute paired with Lincolnshire Poacher Rarebit to the tender Duck Breast with Cherry Sauce and the most divine White Chocolate and Vanilla Cheesecake paired with a tangy rhubarb sorbet, every bite was a revelation. Tony’s creativity and expertise shone through in every dish, blending flavors with confidence and flair. One of the most refreshing aspects of the evening was how relaxed and welcoming the atmosphere was. It’s rare to find fine dining that doesn’t feel intimidating, but Tony’s passion for great food comes through in such an honest, friendly way. Being able to watch him work and hear a little about the dishes made it all feel even more special—like you’re part of something unique. Coventry is so lucky to have Gourmet Food Kitchen. It’s a truly exceptional dining experience that rivals any top restaurant, yet it’s grounded in a way that makes you feel completely at home. We've used GFK regularly for their brownies which are by far the best brownies you will ever have. Today we popped in for their new Brunch Bagel menu and tried the Homemade Fish Finger one. Bagels made from scratch, homemade big, chunky fish fingers and homemade tartare sauce. Absolutely outstanding food. Cannot recommend it highly enough and will also be attending one of their gourmet nights. A hidden gem in Coventry!

One of the best dining experience. Loved every single dish. Well balanced flavours from start to finish. Good portions too. Excellent service from Tony (chef) and Deb (wife). Unique dining experience unlike other establishments- you’re actually sat in a long table with other guests. You can bring your own booze/ drinks as they don’t have a drinks menu. But they do offer coffee/ tea with our last course- petit fours (chocolate made in-house by the chef). There is a shop just around the corner that sells liquor- so you can easily get them before your meal.

If you like sexy, funky and classy vibes then this place has lots of it. The food had loads of flavour, was beautifully presented and cooked perfectly. My dragon fruit mocktail was refreshing and the staff were friendly. Overall an entertaining, unique and memorable food experience. I wish I’d taken more photos and videos.

We were served by Arman and were delighted with the experience from arriving until leaving. Parking is easy, staff are friendly, restaurant is clean and great ambience. For starters we were recommended the nachos which didn't nit disappoint and our eyes were bigger than our stomach so we also ordered the bang bang chicken. Mains were bad boy steak and lamb fillet followed by a magnum brownie dessert to share. Everything was delicious and i will be coming back again for sure for a special occasion meal.

Came a few weeks ago and was pleased with my experience. Servers were great especially Tony. Food as always is exceptional. The chicken chilli Mac is my go to but have tried the Bombay steak before which was just as good. Had dessert this time which was tasty. The shisha is as you would expect from anywhere that serves it

This place is definitely worth the 2 hour drive, the ambience, the service, the food and the shisha is absolutely worth every penny spent. The staff they make you feel really special with their exemplary service, we have been here three times and it has consistently been amazing! Really recommend Maison de Fumee for any special occasion or if you just want to treat yourself!

Stopped here for dinner before a gig at the Library. Food was absolutely superb; we had a couple of sushi platters and a bento box; all delicious. Attentive service, and the restaurant itself will be lovely when they’ve finished decorating.

I love the coconatsu and rice here. Take in or delivery both bang! All the staff are very attentive and friendly. I think the food is cheap for how good it is, this is not a request for a price increase. 🤭

My partner and I come from Rugby to eat over here! We are never disappointed and always enjoy everything we try. You can tell the team really care about creating amazing food and they should be so proud as the dining experience is fantastic!

Delicious lunch, my third visit. Giorgio is welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and very passionate about his menu and Italy. We enjoyed a leisurely three course meal on a sleepy Bank Holiday Monday. The special starter was fresh baked figs, wrapped in ham, with goats cheese and drizzled in honey - delicious. We enjoyed fish specials, haddock with a black garlic, cream and masala sauce, I enjoyed monkfish with prawns, brandy and tomato. Incredibly generous portions, a side of zucchini fitti. We just about managed dessert, with a glass of masala and coffee to finish. A very pleasant couple of hours, excellent quality, fresh and tasty and attentive company from Giorgio. Highly recommended!

Beautifully decorated Italian restaurant with very friendly service. Food is a bit pricey but comes in generous portions, after a sharing starter and mains I have to give up on my dessert. Quality is great and certainly better and feels more authentic than those in popular Italian restaurant chains. Personally feels a bit too cheesy towards the end but that's more a subjective preference rather than a reflection of their quality. Overall I will definitely recommend this place.

I recently visited Ristorante Da Vinci with my partner, and we both ordered the steak Diane. As someone who can be a bit fussy with food, I requested mine without the traditional sauce and instead asked for peppercorn sauce on the side. To my delight, the staff were incredibly accommodating. The chef prepared my steak in the kitchen rather than table-side to ensure our food was ready at the same time - my partner enjoyed the full tableside experience. It was a thoughtful touch that made me feel comfortable while still allowing us both to enjoy our meals. While the food is on the pricier side, it’s absolutely worth it as a treat. The steak was perfectly tender, cooked to my requested temperature and flavorful, and the peppercorn sauce was the best I’ve ever had. The quality of the food and the presentation are top-notch. I highly recommend the side salad, I’ve never had a salad so fresh! The service was exceptional from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the staff took our coats and were immediately attentive without being overbearing. If you’re not used to fine dining, be prepared - they even place a fabric napkin on your lap for you! It’s these small touches that elevate the experience and make it feel special. Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening, and I’d happily return for another treat in the future. Highly recommended for a special occasion or when you’re in the mood for a little luxury.

Amazing meal at the Artisan. I had the Ribeye steak tender as anything, served with chips and Bloody Mary butter was amazing. Eden was so lovely she took my allergies seriously made great recommendations and made us feel so welcome. I would highly recommend this place and if you have the pleasure of getting Eden to serve you will have the best combination of meal and service.

This is one of the best if not the best steak I have eaten in a long time! I would rate it 6 stars out of 5! The service was excellent. The owners Claire and Lee (chef) were very hospitable and we had a good time chatting. I was most thankful that they kept the restaurant opened even after we went in at almost closing time. I would strongly recommend anyone who wants a good steak not to miss out on your restaurant!!!😍

We had our staff Christmas meal here on Friday, staff were fab - very friendly and attentive, and the food was delish! Quirky, cosy old pub and decorated beautifully for Christmas!

Visited for dinner with my friend and had an absolutely incredible meal. The steak was cooked to perfection, chips were to die for and the peppercorn sauce the best I’ve ever tasted- we both had the same and agreed. Following the main, we had the baileys creme brulee which was equally top quality. All food was well worth every penny and the service was also fantastic. The young blonde hostess and tall waiter were really friendly and kind. Will definitely return- thank you.

Went on a Sunday approx 5ish and wasn't too busy. We shared the Buthers block, and whilst the meats where cooked to perfection I'll be honest taste wise we couldn't tell the difference between the meats. We did feel let down by the marrow bone as nothing really on it. However, the food was all cooked perfect and tasted amazing.

Waitresses were very polite and helpful. The food was amazing. Brilliant service overall. Pricey, but worth the experience. Will definitely return.

Great steaks and lovley staff. Firstly we had the ribeye & sirloin cuts, both incredibly good cuts of meat with little to no gristle. Sides we had some mac&cheese and extra onion loaf 😋 Lovely meal and would 100% be back for sure. Only downside was we was sat under the AC and it was a little drafty.

Nice place for a bite to eat it's basically similar to Nandos but I'd say the wraps are way better here especially the kebab wrap 🤤 the Lady who served us was very nice & helpful so would visit again if I was in the area.

I recently visited Franzos and had a pleasant experience overall. The ambience of the place was great—cozy and inviting, making it a nice spot to relax. The service was exceptional, with the staff being attentive, friendly, and quick to assist especially Riya. The food however didn’t quite live up to the high expectations set by the rest of the experience. I’d still recommend the place for a casual outing, especially if you're in the mood for a good atmosphere and top-notch service.

I recently visited Franzos and had an amazing experience! The burger were absolutely delicious—juicy, perfectly seasoned, and served on a fresh, soft bun. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients. I also tried their milkshake, and wow, it was the creamiest, most indulgent shake I've had in a long time. Rich, thick, and packed with flavor—definitely a must-try. The wings were another highlight—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and coated in a mouthwatering sauce. They were perfectly cooked and had just the right balance of spice and sweetness. Overall, the atmosphere was great, the staff who were working there today called “Manasi” was so kind also described the dishes so good, and the food was top-notch. I’ll definitely be coming back for more! Highly recommend.

My boyfriend took me to Entrée for my birthday last night and it was absolutely wonderful. Yaz looked after us and was so attentive the entire time. We even ordered the Birthday Bliss dessert and was treated to a beautiful spectacle. All in all the whole experience was incredible. The steak I had (medium rare fillet mignon) was just beyond words, and the signature chips were such a delight too !! Would highly recommend for anyone wanting a decadent and tasty eating experience.

Absolutely Amazing! We visited to celebrate my son’s 15th birthday, and it was an unforgettable experience! The steak was cooked to perfection and was absolutely delicious. We also opted for the birthday package, which included a beautiful cake and a lovely fragrance for my son. This thoughtful touch, planned so well by the staff, truly made the celebration extra special. The atmosphere was incredible—welcoming, elegant, and perfect for any occasion. The staff were attentive, and the entire experience felt so upscale yet comfortable. We can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend this place to anyone. 10/10!

I recently went for dinner with my family here in Coventry. The atmosphere was excellent—warm and inviting, with a perfect balance of elegance and comfort. The staff provided a great service, attentive without being intrusive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the meal. As for the food, I ordered a medium well steak, the sirloin was cooked exactly to my liking, tender and flavourful. The signature chips were crispy and well-seasoned, accompanying the steak perfectly.Overall my experience was great and I can't wait to return. Highly recommended

My biggest advice: come with an empty stomach and make sure you book! The carvery here was insane (in a good way XD). It was busy and we overheard the host say that it was fully booked all day. You get a choice between gammon, pork, beef and turkey. The veg is self serve. The price is really affordable and all the staff are incredibly friendly - the atmosphere is really joyful. Shout out Dan who gave us a friendly and warm welcome - he said we will be back...I don't doubt him now.

Dining out can be challenging when needing gluten free options for Coeliac’s disease. We rang up and the host went to speak directly to the chef to ensure that we could be safely accommodated for. We felt reassured from the conversation on the phone and the fact they had a specific gluten free menu. Craving burgers we were not disappointed. Gluten free bun, gluten free burger and delicious chips (they have a separate chip frier which means we could have all the different types of chips). Excellent service. Top quality food. 100% would recommend and cannot wait to be back. Thank you

I would say this is one of the most fabulous Indian Curry restaurants I have had the pleasure of eating at. Service was polite and timely with food coming out at the appropriate time. Delicious food with little extras along the way. Atmosphere is cosy and pretty. I would travel to come here again.

Service was good; ambience was excellent but I personally didn’t enjoy the food that much. I’ve had better curries at half the price. However, for a romantic setting, it’s one of the best in Coventry.
