Karen was a wonderful tutor for our son Edward during an emergency period of EOTAS. She really met him where he was with different elements of his learning and helped start to address the very significant gaps arising from the poor educational standard at his previous SEN school, slowly building his confidence and self-belief. Her gentle but determined style helped him start his recovery from a period of school trauma and help ease his anxiety. Karen adapted her approach to suit, motivate and inspire him. We are very grateful for her thoughtful, diligent and patient work with him, the impact of her skilled teaching on him is clear. We all miss her and wish her all the very best for the future.

Siew is a professional tutor and has a good approach to catering to individual needs. Our daughter prepared with Siew for 11+ and we could clearly see that our daughter gained more confidence. Ms Siew has been brilliant! Not only because she has the knowledge and patience for preparing maths for my daughter’s 11+, more importantly Ms Siew has made maths fun that my daughter isn’t scared of doing maths anymore. On the contrary, my daughter looks forward to doing more fun maths. That has made a huge difference on the preparation of 11+. CoolMinds has been a nurturing teacher to my child. She encourages him to think indepently and teaches him methods to explore new subjects on his own, instead of feeding him with how to sit in exams only. So pleased we found Excellence Tuition, really has made such a difference to our child's confidence. They attempt questions which before they would have hesitated at. The online lessons are practical, the group sizes thought through ensuring each child has individual guidance from Ramona during a lesson. The pace of the lesson is maintained and adjusted to meet the needs of the children participating, to ensure each is making their own progress, whilst working alongside others. As the live session runs, Ramona's tone and dialogue remain positive and she has a good energy in encouraging her students. The length of lesson and timing fits well following a day at school. As a parent, I am able to speak with Ramona at intervals to gain an updates of progress and current focuses being worked on.

Ramona has been tutoring my 14 year old daughter in GCSE Maths tuition for over 6 months now and we have been delighted with the results. My daughter has said how supportive and clear Ramona is, always asking if the children have any specific questions or concerns before they begin the class. She also makes sure everyone is clear on the task at hand and is working on a problem. On top of this Ramona has a warm, friendly and supportive nature. I have known about First Class Learning since they first opened their doors to support learning for local children in the area. They employ an amazing group of staff who are dedicated to motivating and helping with the additional support our children need. My daughter was struggling with her understanding of some of the topics being taught at school, but you made them easy for her to understand by connecting stories with her studies which made the topics memorable. Yasmin has been an incredible tutor through both my 11+ and GCSE examinations. She has provided invaluable resources (such as past papers, worksheets, predicted papers and more) and has never hesitated to explain a concept I struggled with understanding. My son joined STS tutoring February of Year 5 after finding his old tutor was unable to work positively with him. I called Yasmin fairly worried that my son would be changing tutors so late in the 11plus journey. She was incredibly supportive and set a date to trial him and see how much he knew. Straight away she told me he was doing so well and he was definitely on the right track. Each week from then on, Yasmin was nothing but kind and positive about his learning. When I had a worry, she took the time to give me reassurance and even ideas of how to improve certain areas of learning. She kept up with last minute changes in the exam criteria and made sure my son had the up to date papers to work from, something other tutors in the area didn’t do. She tailored the work for his weaknesses and went above and beyond to help him feel confident. She also was truthful when she felt he could improve his learning or even his attitude towards the work in any way. My son has a place at Sutton Grammar starting in September 2024 and couldn’t be happier. My younger son will be starting with Yasmin when his journey starts. Yasmin is dedicated, kind and so personal, perfect for our family.
