Hermanos Colombian Coffee Roasters – Barnes

Rating: 4.6 (115) Price Level:

I'm shocked how good the coffee is here, I have never had a coffee so good in my life. The best coffee around London, I also bought my friend here who also agreed it was the best coffee he's ever had. So much flavour, and at a very reasonable price too. Staff are always friendly here, great interior with comfortable seating, WiFi and plug sockets.

Came in for a quick coffee. There was a choice of two different batch brews as well as the usual espresso-based options like latte, cappuccino, flat white etc. The batch brew was actually really decent, I was surprised. (Generally tend to ignore reviews from others now, as I seem to have wildly different standards to other people.) Service was pleasant. The cafe wasn’t spotless, chairs a bit dirty and the sofa chairs (comfy front-room style chairs) definitely need replacing. Genuinely wide range of beans available, about 7 or 8 different types ranging from £15 to £32 for a single 250g bag. Can’t comment on the value of this coffee. They did have one or two bags of geisha varietal. Definitely not the best coffee in London as others seem to think (you need to get out more!) but it was a solid experience for this coffee lover. Chocolate brownie was good too. Hot chocolate, brownie (on the larger side), and small batch brew came to just over £10.

This is my second visit, as l have discovered decaffeinated coffee. Staff are welcoming, great selection of hot and cold drinks and snacks. A lovely colourful atmospheric environment, gentle music in the background. Near to the river and pond, walking distance to the shops in the high Street.

Cafe66 Barnes

66 White Hart Ln, London SW13 0PZ, UK | Coffee Shop
P: 020 8241 1590

Rating: 4.7 (194) Price Level:

This is my family’s favourite cafe (including our dog!). The food here is amazing, everything is homemade and authentic. The staff are so lovely and welcoming. Our dog drags us to this cafe every time he goes past and does not leave until he gets a minimum of 10 treats. We go here at least once a week and our favourite dishes are the avocado and chicken salad, the homemade cakes (especially the tiramisu cake!!!), the berry smoothie, all of the chunky soups and the avocado on toast.

I recently moved to Barnes, and Cafe 66 has quickly become my go-to spot. With a fantastic selection of truly homemade food, exceptional coffee and tea, outstanding service, and a wonderful atmosphere, it’s a true gem. I feel lucky to live so close to such a special place.

The best cafe in Barnes, this little unassuming place packs a great punch, serving the best home cooked food money can buy! And the service is super friendly. Everything is made in-house including the bread. from soups to cakes, it’s all amazing, fresh & healthy I can’t recommend cafe 66 enough.

I hardly dare share this review in case I can't get a seat next time I go, but I just love this little cafe. Fabulous food and everything is prepared and served like they really care. Even the water tastes special. The soups are especially wonderful, and I don't mind paying a little more than usual because I feel it's absolutely worth it, and anyway, supporting independent businesses is very important. Forget those horrid corporate chains. Come here instead and enjoy the hands-on creative efforts of the lovely staff and don't buy all the muffins because there'd better be one left for me.

Manor Farm Tea Room

Wood Lane, Seale, Farnham GU10 1HR, UK | Tea House
P: 01252 783661

Rating: 4.7 (623) Price Level:

Stopped here on a charity cycle ride from London to Poole. What an amazing pitstop for 15 minutes. Internally, the cafe is incredibly cosy, with a quintessential English feel to it, in a quiet, bucolic setting. When it comes to cakes, they offer all the classics, and by the taste of the granola bar I ordered, I reckon they have the recipes bang on. I also noticed a wide selection of teas, which I will have to try next time. Definitely worth stopping by if you are in the area and “gasping for that cuppa!”

Lockdown Bakehouse Barnes

56 Church Rd, London SW13 0DQ, UK | Cafe
P: Not available

Rating: 4.6 (54) Price Level:

Really cool bakehouse with a wide selection of baked goods like cruffins, buns, brownies, and bread. The space is large and open, making it a great spot to sit in, plus they offer more than just coffee. I was happy to see they have coconut milk on the menu. However, the matcha wasn’t the best—clumpy at the bottom and a bit bitter, so I wouldn’t recommend it as not a good grade. Aside from that, everything else is great, and the prices are reasonable compared to other spots nearby, which keeps me coming back

I came here to grab a takeaway lunch when working from home. The goods on display seemed a little sparse, but it was almost 2pm when I went in there. I ordered a toasted chorizo sandwich and an Anzac cookie, which were both delicious! The staff were lovely too! I also just had to take a picture of the pastries as you can see all of the layers. Will need to swing by for breakfast next time.

Lockdown Bakehouse Barnes was way better than I expected. I went here with my brother not expecting much of it because it was a quite small place but we were so wrong as the coffee was really good and the carrot cake we tried was superb. Honestly, the coffee wasn't too bitter but it still tasted like coffee and it didn't feel to heave or thick like certain ones. The carrot cake wasn't dry, it was really moist and the flavour was amazing. We could tell the carrot cake is not a big branch one as it still feels made with love. The atmosphere was ok, the place is small but has about 5 tables, some of them are smaller than other but you can definately take a sit here. The only thing I could mention that wasn't so great is how clean the floor was. The floor was a bit dirty and you could see some alive insects walking on the floor. This is nothing super alarming as this is due to the dirt from people's shoes when they walk in, but the place could use a bit more cleaning or, at least, a place where you can clean your shoes slightly like a carpet. Nevertheless I would recommend this place 100% as no one eats on the floor.

I've just had a cappuccino and a slice of lemon cake. OMG out of this world. The cake is so moist and lemony and the icing just melts in my mouth. I also noticed they did some wonderful looking pies and " hot honey" 🤔. Honey infused with chilli's. Maybe next time . I would 100% recommend a visit

If you're looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a fabulous breakfast, this is the place! I’ve sampled all of their ‘December Specials’ and was thoroughly impressed. The ‘Panettone French Toast’ was an unforgettable highlight! While the prices are on the higher side, the quality of service was excellent, and the ambience was simply charming. I highly recommend this place for a delightful and relaxing Sunday breakfast!

On a Sunday morning, brunch was calling. We went to the pantry, as we heard it was fancy. We got there just in time, as there’s normally a line. Our dog could come in with us; she wouldn’t cause a fuss. I had a banging French toast, topped with a wobbly pannacotta. Ordered two flat whites to wash it down, (you just gotta). The others had the mushrooms and the avocado toast. I think my meal was best, I loved it the most. The servers were friendly, the prices weren’t bad. Got a sweetie with the bill, you can’t be mad. I’m not that good at poems, but they’re great at what they do. If they keep this standard up, I might get an Urban Pantry tattoo

Great little cafe, the food is amazing quality and very fresh. For London I can’t quite believe the prices, it’s so cheap and 100% worth every penny. I ordered a spanish chorizo and pepper omelette with a gorgeous fresh salad and all together it was £6.80, i’ve had similar meals before in other cafes and always paid more than £10. Food was delicious and service is always great. Very comfortable dine in area only it can be a little hot as the weather is warmer i’m hoping in summer there’s fan provided!! Also includes a little shop inside with lots of italian and other cuisines. Recommend this cafe for anyone, also great if you want to do work with your laptop here although i couldn’t see plugs so be aware!

Lovely addition to the area. I’ve been very impressed with the quality of food here. My partner has found that ingredients he has previously disliked, he now enjoys thanks to the dishes here. We’ve had to wait quite a while recently until we finally got to order our food, but that was a one off so far. Being from the South of France, it’s nice to have a french restaurant 2 mins from our home. The close location to the pond doesn’t just make for a lovely after meal walk, but also gave us the opportunity to see a swam family wanting to make dinner plans !

Found this hidden gem of a cafe in Barnes after my walk around the neighbourhood a few weeks ago and since then, I have been going and looking forward to being a regular. This place serves the best tasting food in London no doubt! My favourite is their American style pancakes which is served with date butter (so so good, I always ask for an extra serving of the butter - its that good!) If you are looking for fresh salads, you are in the right place. Their salads are made fresh daily and all are locally produced. Another one worth trying is their wild mushroom folded eggs, - divine! Tried to order online through Uber Eats too, and even the food delivered still hits the spot! The cafe is really cosy too, quaint with emphasis on giving you homey vibes. The staff is always friendly whenever we go, and accommodating. They're always very willing to customise the dishes to suit your preferences. This cafe is perfect for health-conscious dining which doesn't compromise on taste. Its become my go-to spot for a guilt-free dine out. I can't recommend it highly enough!

GAIL's Bakery Barnes

49 Church Rd, London SW13 9HH, UK | Bakery
P: 020 8741 0987

Rating: 4.1 (512) Price Level:

A staple in Barnes for baked goods with a wide selection! I prefer to visit here for treats rather than drinks, as I usually opt for other options on the high street. The café is always bustling, and like most places, there's a charge to sit and eat, but there's a lovely park just around the corner where you can enjoy your goodies. It's in a great location and always busy, but like many Gail's locations, it can be a bit overpriced. Overall, it's a good spot for baked goods!

Gail’s is iconic in London in its own way and the location and atmosphere of this particular Gail’s in Barnes is just so beautiful. But what made my experience so special and makes me want to write this review is this kind , patient and very courteous girl called NORA . She is a gem to have as an employee. People make the place . Thank you Nora for the way you treat your customers and how you make sure they feel welcomed, attended and heard. I won’t go about the whole incident but how you dealt with it simply speaks of your great values and ethos. We need more people spreading kindness than agitation and anger . Wishing you all the best and hope to see the smiling you soon again .
