First but not last time visiting. My self and my husband had 2 breakfasts. The food was delicious and lots of it in fact we couldn’t finish it. The staff was very polite and friendly. Very clean and cozy. My next option will to be trying the Sunday dinner.

Went for breakfast this morning… Well furnished, very smart establishment. Breakfast and hot drink were very reasonably priced and tasted beautiful… The toast served with it was 😍. Staff also very friendly, will be back on a regular basis 👍

Gorgeous little cafe, with amazing staff. Had a breakfast today and a piece of their homemade cheesecake, both were absolutely unreal! I will definitely be returning !! Xxx

Staff lovely always asking if everything’s alright, very friendly and polite, nothing too much to ask. Decorated so lovely inside didn’t get a picture but looked so cute with the valentines decorations still up on the tree. Tasty food, great quality served HOT and drinks also fantastic. Was the first time visiting here after finding it on Google and me and my friend would go back in a heart beat 🫶

Lovely little bistro for breakfast. Good atmosphere and service was great. Coffee was lovely and very tasty. Pancakes one morning. Cooked breakfast the next morning. All was really good. Place was packed and tables reserved on a Saturday and Sunday morning, so if you don't want to risk it then call in advance.

Recently had lunch here for our first visit. Cosy, warm cafe with friendly staff and delicious food! The homemade quiche was excellent and the coffee was very good! If I could just recommend 1 thing, hopefully without offending, some extraction/ventilation. My friend and I both noticed after that our clothes and hair smelt really strongly of food/cafe smell. I appreciate it is a small cafe with an open kitchen, but it would put me off visiting if I had to go to work afterwards. That is all I have to moan about, it was a great visit for me. Thankyou.

What a lovely place to stop for some lunch! I had poached eggs on avocado toast and a red pepper and tomato soup. It was all super delicious!

This was my first time in Fika, and I really did enjoy it. I met with a relative and we had a good chat and some lunch. It was busy, but the staff seemed on top of it. The service was good, everyone was friendly and it was a really good atmosphere. I ordered a chicken pesto sandwich for lunch, which was really nice. An overall lovely visit, I'll definitely be back.

Well worth making the 5 minute diversion off junction 1 of the M18, to go to a nice independent cafe, rather than a service station. We just had coffee and cake/pastries, but it looked like a great food menu. Seating upstairs and downstairs. We didn't book, but it is possible to reserve a table.

When we are shopping at the Tanyard shopping centre we often look in at Fika's to see if this busy and popular little coffee lounge have any tables free, many the times when we have struggled to secure seats so been disappointed that we couldn't enjoy a coffee and a cake. The food, the service and the staff are 'absolutely exceptional' so no wonder seats are at a premium. In reply to the owners reply and explanation to my original review I have decided to review my review favourably.

Had a fantastic experience at The Family Tree! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a lovely countryside charm. The food was delicious, well-prepared, and generously portioned. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from start to finish. Whether you’re stopping by for a coffee, a meal, or just a relaxing time, this place is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended!

Lovely garden at the back. Toilets (clean) outside are down some steps. Accessible path to garden. Friendly staff. Lovely cheese scones - ask for them to be warmed. Dog friendly. UPDATE: probably the best halloumi & falafel baguette in the area!

Popped in with the missus for a spot of lunch, which quickly escalated into a dining delight! I chose the bagels with smoked salmon, and she chose poached eggs on toast with crushed avocado. Both meals were absolutely perfect, great textures, balance of flavours, and the portions were both generous and very reasonably priced. Touches like a drizzle of balsamic vinegar, and a seeded bagel, rather than a plain one, just shows the level of care and attention put into their food. Throw in some fresh spinach and eggs cooked to perfection, what more could you want?Cake! That’s what!! Even though we were both full, we simply couldn’t leave without a couple of the cakes on display, they simply looked amazing. And they were! Thoroughly recommend these lovely people, the fantastic food, great location, and one more bonus…they allow dogs, which meant we got a bit of a doggo fix too!! Brilliant 👍

The food was excellent, (an amazing range of options for such a small operation) and prepared with real care. Excellent provision for gluten-free (cross-contamination caution). Staff and service was warm and accommodating. A wall display of superb photographs shows the stunning local scenery at its best (and are for sale). We were able to reserve tables. If we lived nearer we'd be regulars.

We actually came with zero expectations, just because we were super tired from the trails and wanted to eat somewhere. We both got the Asian burger and it was fantastic. Absolutely exceeded our expectations and definitely would be eating here if we were in the area again!

Stopped in to Castleton on our way back from Mam Tor, and found this lovely little spot for lunch. Great menu, very friendly and polite staff and just the perfect place to grab a quick bite to eat and a much needed refuel! Coffees were hot (none of this lukewarm, pretty foam art nonsense thankfully!) and very good beans, baguettes were huge and stuffed with filling, and the hand cut, home made chips were exceptional! Definitely give this place a try if you're heading through or staying in Castleton

Had breakfast with a friend as a catch up. The full English was so tasty and a large portion. The pork sausage was one of the best I've tasted. The only negative point of the breakfast was the scrambled egg - over done and rubbery, but the rest of the breakfast was so good. Flat white was good too. Would definitely be back again (hopefully better eggs next time)

I’ve visited The Old Smithy many times! I've been for breakfast, brunch, and lunch and it never disappoints. The food is consistently top-notch, and their signature Smithy blend coffee is hands down the best I’ve ever had. The staff are always warm, welcoming, and greet you with genuine smiles. Very quick review... If you go to any cafe around Chesterfield this is absolutely a must not miss. The food is really beyond even my expectations and the coleslaw ♥️♥️♥️. For an old jaded restaurant critic this was just wonderful. Really. So, check out the Old Smithy, it's utterly exquisite on all fronts (decor, food, and service). My highest award: FIVE NOMS 🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂

Lovely little cafe. I like that you have to wonder through the park to find this place. The cafe building itself is quite small but there is plenty of outdoor seating, most of which is undercover either under a gazebo or an umbrella. We only had coffee's and a scone but both were great and the service was fast. The staff are very welcoming and dogs are welcome too. A hidden gem.

Lovely coffee shop with lots of outdoor seating. Good service with a smile. Delicious roulade and coffee. It's a cafe really walkers and cyclists as you can't really drive to here.

What a gem of a coffee shop! This little family owned spot is an absolute delight. The coffee beans are top-notch, rich and full of flavor, and thier latte syrups add the perfect touch of sweetness without being overpowering. The panini was perfectly toasted and the cake OH MY SO DELICIOUS. The service was warm and friendly, making us feel right at home. The shop itself was spotless and had such a welcoming atmosphere. It's clear that a lot of love and care goes into every detail. If you're looking for a cozy place with amazing coffee and food, this is it! Highly recommend 🍰☕️🌟🌟

1st visit today . Lovely location and a wonderful walk with dogs along Nutbrook trail / cycle walking trail We joined in Kirk Hallam and walked to Shipley park / cafe area. Check opening times as only open sadly 3 days a week but is open on BH

Took mother in law on a spur of the moment lunch out, chose the bistro due to the positive reviews. We really enjoyed the food, its excellent and very well priced. Staff are attentive and friendly. Thankyou we will be back again soon

Wow! We went for breakfast and would definitely go again. The staff were friendly, the restaurant is beautifully presented, nicely lit and comfortable. The food was presented well, hot and very tasty. A good choice of drinks available and a good selection of breakfast options on the menu. Altogether a fantastic experience at The Willow Tree Bistro.

This is a wonderful place to come and have an early morning breakfast, especially whilst walking your pet dog, you can book a table in advance or just walk in, the staff are very pleasant and helpful and will definitely find a place for you... The decor is very relaxing, spacious and extremely comfortable... The food is delicious and of course there's also a lunch time menu to choose from... There's even a doggie menu for your furry friend to enjoy a selection of food, my Bobbi chose The Drooler, he soon finished it off... tasty!! There's indoor and outdoor seating available... So come on down to the Willow Tree Bistro, it's a must... I'm sure you'll definitely be returning ... It's well worth the journey... Enjoy!!

I went back to this delightful bistro for the second time! It’s super friendly and welcoming, and they have an amazing selection of delicious breakfast options. The mushrooms were to die for - they were buttery and not at all rubbery! I had the full English breakfast, and it was plenty. They even included a big pot of tea. I’ll definitely be back! The wait for my food was about 20 minutes, but it was totally worth it because everything was freshly cooked.
