“Outstanding, The selection of food and drinks are superb and varied. We had the Chicken Club sandwich it’s prepared with really good produce and we had a couple of coffees that are Freshly made. We’ve eaten and drank coffee here a couple of times now the staff are welcoming and always willing to make your experience special. There’s some seating outside or inside the cafe, we chose inside and it was a quiet comfortable area. It rates 5 hygiene rating and we can understand why every thing is really clean. There’s lovely walks within a few minutes close by at Strawbridge. Thanks for a welcoming and enjoyable experience.”

“Visited bank holiday Monday and it was manic! This did not prevent us from enjoying our visit, albeit a very noisy one. Staff were predominantly young females who jelled well as an impressive, highly efficient and hardworking team. Although some delays on service due to such a high volume of guests (we had reserved a table in advance), this did not stop staff affording us as much time as we needed to make our menu selections. Our food was delivered, piping hot, aesthetically presented and was absolutely delicious. My only gripe was the beef and ale pie that I and another guest ate, was way too salty, but as it was so delicious, we both eagerly ate it all. We paid the price later by having an incredible thirst! I will certainly return, although will select a quieter day and hope the pie is less salty as I'd really love to enjoy that again.”

“1st visit today and was lovely. Walked from Kirk Hallam to Shipley park area . Saw cafe and was a great find. Lovely walks in area. Check opening hours before visiting as only open Fri/sat/ Sunday and BH . Gets busy but was lovely . Shame they use disposable cups in these days of being more eco conscious but maybe they can't wash pots in small space . Not the friendliest of staff but location made up for that on this occasion.”

“We arrived on a busy Friday lunchtime and a queue was forming for tables. However, staff were polite and efficient, doing their best to accommodate people. We were offered a side window bench which we took and a waitress came to tell us their specials. Lucky us, we landed on a newly introduced Fish Friday and whilst we pondered our choices, a "proper" table came free and we were waved over. We placed an order of fish and chips each and also requested if we could takeaway a pulled pork panini for our son. A very reasonable reduction in price was offered for this. After a slight but expected wait for how busy it was, our food arrived and it was all freshly cooked, delicious and plentiful. The panini was brought over towards the end of us eating and stayed hot for us to take home. Will definitely be back, and hope fish Friday continues”

“Only just found this place and my visit was excellent. From the bus stop it is not clear it's a Cafe but viewed from another direction it's clear. The food is well cooked and of a brilliant price. It's not a big place but there is plenty of room for indoor seating. There is a varied menu and rival's easily, Tesco around the corner for quality and price. Well done everyone, my wife and I will come here again. You need a big sign outside so people can see it's a Cafe from the bus stop”

“What a fab place for lunch. Obviously, they can be very busy. Fortunately we went for a late lunch around 1:30-1:45 and got seated in the conservatory which had a nice view out into the garden and included a big heater to keep the place warm. The staff were lovely and very helpful giving clear guidance on how to order and what's on the menu. The decaf tea was well presented, a good quantity and hot. The quiche meals were of very generous portions, with a good measure of mixed salad. There was a wide selection of cakes. The cornflake tart caught my eye and when it came it was a generous portion. I can recommend it! We moved into the main seating area after a short time as it was quite cool in the conservatory for us. The big heater couldn’t quite cope with the outside sliding doors opening for customers coming and going. The main seating area was a better area to sit, and was a good bit warmer. It was good to see the staff set to cleaning the tables and floors after customers had left. There are a couple of toilets on the ground floor, both clean and tidy with good facilities. The couple of things that would have made our experience even better was. 1. Fix the sliding outside door and stop it being left open or sliding open. On a cold day it is noticeable. 2. Both of our quiche meals were only just warm. They would have been much nicer a lot hotter. Overall, the staff were excellent, the food very good and the place was clean and tidy. Prices were a little more then we would have paid else where. There appears to be two car parks. We parked in the one off the main road and ended walking along it just around the corner to find the closer carpark and the entrance. We will definitely go again, perhaps when the weather improves or ask for a seat inside the main café.”
