I love popping in here occasionally for coffee or mulled wine while waiting for my washing. They’re always so friendly and the mulled wine and coffee are amazing. I recently took my partner for coffee and cake on his birthday and he jokingly requested a candle too. The cakes were delicious and he got his candle and the staff sang happy birthday. It absolutely made his day! Thank you so much 🙏🏻 (I didn’t get a pic of the candle as he took it out so quickly)

My partner and I visited Indulgence for a hot chocolate after a Sunday walk. The hot chocolate, complete with all the toppings, was absolutely delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly. We have found our new favourite place for a winter warmer! Added bonus: They accept cash!!

Took a friend there for coffee. She really enjoyed it and told me how nice the creamy texture of the coffee was. We had the Caffe Latte and sat outside and enjoyed the view. I will call again.

Lovely coffee and Italian pastries shared with friends. Made to feel very welcome by the people serving, they were very busy and we were huddled up the corner having a long overdue catch-up. Will return to try some other items from the menu

SO glad I visited here today with a good friend of mine. I found it on Google maps...!!! Such delicious food , with a very good quality and taste to it. I had garlic mushrooms on sourdough toast , with a poached egg on top, and lots of lovely fresh rocket. My friend had a lovely brown sourdough with a blend of very tasty cheeses on top of it - we both loved our food...😋😋😋. The desserts and cakes are to die for, my friend had a piece of a "triple layer victoria sponge", and I had a piece of "blueberry & lemon sponge" to take away, with me... Coffees were also 👌👌👌👌👌 excellent. Staff were very helpful and friendly, too... 🥰🥰👍👍. Would definitely recommend this place for breakfast, brunch, & lunch...👍👍👍 Amazing...!! You can also reserve a table in advance, to make sure you get a seat, when it's busy....👌👌Visited again with 2 other friends today (12/9/24 - it's still as busy , and as good food as ever....👍👍👍 Gets SO very busy, it's good that you can reserve tables beforehand.

Been meaning to call here for a while, finally made it today and wasn't disappointed. A warm, friendly welcome awaits you on entry ,we booked a table ahead, which is a wise move as it is a busy place. We opted for the Stilton,cream cheese ,walnut and mango chutney sandwich on thick granary bread, what a flavour combination, it was delicious and as far as a sandwich goes it is probably the nicest I've ever had! There is a lovely selection of cakes to choose from, we chose the Ninaimo and a white chocolate and peanut butter blondiè, these again were both delicious, all washed down with a lovely cappuccino . Service was excellent, will definitely visit again when in the area.

Took a friend there for a mid day meal. They take notice of allergies. The meals were nicely presented. Very popular with mothers and young families. We had the Eggs Benedict that was rather pleasant. When in the area it is worth a try.

Large s welcoming cafe in the middle of Breaston. Lots of good menu choices for breakfast/brunch. We had the American style pancakes which were delicious, but enormous and too large to finish! Good service and plenty of seating. Car parking at rear, but might be difficult if the car park is full. We'd like to come back and try a lighter breakfast...

Stopped here for lunch on the way to Peak District. The Veggie plate (£25) was huge and very filling for 2 people. We also bought some cheese, chutney and bread at the shop. Very helpful staff.

Recently discovered Milk & Honey Deli such a great independent business offering an amazing selection of breakfast and lunch options this has been my new favourite independent cafe to visit when visiting Derby I’ve started to introduce this cafe to friends and family. Coffee is to an great quality too 👌 Highly recommended to anyone! 🙌🏻

A lovely relaxed and comfortable environment with a nice cafe for lovely coffee and cakes. A full Deli as well with a quality selection of cheeses, which I have sampled before at Suds & Soda, they are very good.

Thank you to Sarah Milk & Honey Deli for providing the amazing cheese stack for our alternative wedding cake. As lovers of cheese with lots of friends & family who love cheese it was so lovely hearing how much everyone enjoyed all the gorgeous cheeses. So much so that there was only a small amount of wensleydale with Apricot left. Really lovely little cafe. Had lunch here whilst visiting a spa nearby. Lovely food and atmosphere. Lots of really different things on the menu to your run of the mill stuff and although I didn't try one the cakes looked amazing.

We recently ordered the takeaway Charcuterie boxes, and what a wonderful little cafe in Barton. The experience from ordering, through to pick up was fantastic and the communication from the team first class. Food was ready on time and it tasted delicious. Fresh and wonderfully wholesome. Anyone thinking the food from here is anything other than top class needs their heads wobbling. Thanks Skinny Kitten we will be back

Had a cappuccino and brie and bacon panini, both were very tasty with little waiting time considering how busy the cafe was at the time. Catered for all ages and was welcomed in a warm atmosphere - will definitely be visiting again :)

Popped in for brunch. Really nice atmosphere and friendly staff. I had the Avocado and Pea & Mint smash on toast with poached eggs and it was absolutely delicious. It arrived really quickly too. Highly recommend.

We recently went to Bear at Iron Gate to check out their new Chicken Parmo Burgers. They were absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection! I was also thrilled to see that they’ve improved their kids’ menu. They now have more choices, including healthier options.

Ate here twice in the last week. Full breakfast with a free coffee before 10am at just under £14 for the quality on offer I found to be good value. The breakfast itself was nice but unfortunately the first egg and bacon was overcooked. To improve I’d suggest offering the choice of egg (boiled, fried or scrambled) take more care not to overcook items and remove the salsa and green leaves, both add nothing but include beans & possibly a black pudding. The staff seemed friendly and welcoming but I was disappointed on my second visit that the server couldn’t look me in the eye when she spoke to me. Overall the breakfast experience was good but with a few relatively minor teaks this could be taken from 4/5 to 5/5. Thanks for a good experience

Really good service, always great coffee. Had a craving for shakshuka, it was just what I needed to cure my hangover. Often come for brunch with friends and it never disappoints. Would recommend

Thanks so much to the lovely staff who looked after me and my 91-year old mum today when we came to lunch. You couldn’t have been kinder or more attentive, nothing was too much trouble for you. The food was delicious, surroundings gorgeous and a wonderful experience. We’ll be back!

A nice café in a lovely location. Good food, drink and service. Some unique menu choices you probably won't find in many other places. My only criticism is that it's a bit a pricey, but it's a nice venue, the food is good, and it is unique in several good ways. So I won't knock a star off for the price, and would recommend a visit for anyone looking to grab a meal whilst visiting Burton Marina. Also, dog friendly inside and out, which is a bonus if you have a furry friend you want to bring along on your trip!

Visited at lunchtime and received a very warm welcome as soon as we arrived. Lovely cafe/bistro in a nice situation. The food was amazing - so tasty and well presented with a number of different options. Service was attentive without being obtrusive. The staff were all very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The interior was spotless, and nicely decorated. Everything about our visit was spot on.

We often call in when passing on our walks. We personally find the atmosphere to be welcoming and friendly. The menu is quite extensive for the size of the cafe. They also offer lovely cakes and desserts. Prices are reasonable and we have always found the food to be good quality. Their toasties are gorgeous. The premises are always clean and tidy. This cafe has a great view of Stenson Lock and is great place for relaxing and watching the canal boats with good food.

Very nice cafe in good location next to the trent and mersey canal. Prices are very reasonable, and homemade cakes are scrumptious. Cafe is clean, staff are friendly, really enjoyed it.

A lovely canal side coffee shop, that offers great coffee, lovely cakes & a breakfast menu that is soooooo tempting 😄. The terrace are is a pleasure to sit at and you can watch canal boats navigating the adjacent lock. I will definitely visit again & highly recommended that you do too

Wonderful Afternoon Tea for my Sister’s birthday. We had a beautifully set table in the gazebo with views of the lock and canal. The service was brilliant and the food plentiful and delicious. Everything was fresh and tasty with plenty of tea and coffee. We were checked on often and felt very looked after. Would definitely recommend a visit and will be back to try more off the delicious looking menu.

So good, we visited twice in a weekend! Whilst on a short staycation nearby, we stumbled upon this lovely cafe and soon saw why it is rated by The Guardian as one of the top 10 coffee shops. There is a range of both indoor and outdoor seating to catch a view of the serene marina whilst enjoying a selection of tasty breakfast, brunch and lunch options. The staff provide such a warm, friendly approach and the food was fabulous. I could not recommend this cafe enough, it is a hidden gem. A lovely cafe. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. They recommend you reserve a table at lunchtime because it does get busy, but on this occasion, we were lucky to get a table. I had the panini with chicken, bacon and cheese, and a mocha. The bathroom facilities are at the back of the café. The location is nice within the marina.

Delicious food and the most friendly staff I’ve ever encountered from my 14 years of experience with food. They welcomed us like no other with smiley faces filling the atmosphere of the place. We requested a lot but their smiles never left serving us with great kindness. The food was so nice and aesthetic. Just recommending 1 thing… to add cheese and tuna on the menu with jacket potato. Thank you.

Never been to the Marina before so decided to give it a try on a rainy Saturday with the wife. Popped in for some food as the menu looked good. Had the coronation chicken jacket potato and it was delicious, huge chunks of chicken and very creamy. Waitress was very friendly. £10 for a jacket potato was a bit pricy but as a treat it was okay.

Belper Bookcafe: Well, what can I say; at face value... Books and coffee, two things I really appreciate. However, this stop in Belper turned out to be much more than just books and coffee. I came here with my partner on a spontaneous whim.... And I'm so glad we did, we had a lovely time and vow to return in the future. The café is in an excellent spot, with dedicated parking which is free for up to two hours - anything more requires a permit from the café. As it turned out, 2 hrs was more than enough for us to have an elegant sufficiency :) The building is two storey with customer dining on both the ground and first floor. There is also outside seating to be enjoyed when the sun is out. We opted for the ground floor as it seemed more sociable and we didn't want to disturb people reading upstairs. The decor and atmosphere inside is one of the things I appreciated the most, it's rustic and industrial, with lots of interesting features.... And old books which really brings the name of the café to life. The food was delicious, we ordered from the breakfast menu which was mostly locally sourced and was well worth paying that bit extra for.... Coupled with a coffee, it went down a real treat. The staff were very friendly and service was what you would expect from an establishment that strives to deliver excellence. Polite and friendly which adds to the overall experience. Before leaving we had to take a coffee and a slice of homemade cake for later on - yummy 😋 All in all, very happy with our stop and we will definitely be making a return visit in the future. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff but the vegetarian grill was meatless but everything was deep fried to death which left me feeling a little queazey. I do think I picked the wrong dish as many of their other dishes looked very good liked the eggs and mushrooms and the avocado on toast with eggs.

On my visit into the town of Belper I called into this great little cafe, it's very comfortable and has a very pleasant atmosphere, it's a great place to relax and unwind... There's also an upstairs dining area... I just had a coffee and a small breakfast which was delicious ... The menu has a great choice of dishes to choose from and is very reasonably priced ... If you find yourself in Belper which is a small Derbyshire town and you're wanting to spend a day here, then popping into the Bookcafe even if just for a cake and a coffee would be a great way to spend a very pleasant hour of your time ... I'm definitely calling in again on my next trip to Belper and I'm sure so will you when you visit this wonderful little cafe...
