Bamford Bakery is a cracking little spot tucked away in the village of Bamford, right in the heart of the Peak District. It’s the perfect place to stop for a proper breakfast before heading out for a ramble in the hills. I tried the “Bamford Belly” and was thoroughly impressed. Served in a fresh, floury cob, this breakfast was packed to the brim with classic favourites – thick back bacon, a fried egg with a lovely runny yolk, a golden hash brown, rich black pudding, and a plump sausage. Every bite was warm, filling, and full of proper flavour. The cob held together well and added a nice chew without overpowering the fillings. The staff were friendly and served everything quickly with a smile. The bakery has a cosy, local feel, and you can tell they take pride in what they do. The price was fair, especially given the quality and size of the meal. If you’re in the Peak District and want a solid, satisfying breakfast made with care, you’d be daft to miss Bamford Bakery. The Bamford Belly is a proper treat and sets you up right for the day ahead.

Fantastic bakery in the heart of the Peak District! Bamford Bakery is a must-visit – their peppered beefy bake is packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. Great selection of sandwiches and even gelato for a sweet treat. Friendly staff, cozy vibe, and top-quality bakes. Highly recommended!

Called in while out walking. Had the best marsbar crispy bun ever and the cakes were lovely too. Paying by card was no problem either. Friendly staff and could park right outside.

Perfect place for a cup of tea or breakfast. Very friendly staff and quality food. If you’re hungry, take the large breakfast, it’s a no-brainer 🙂. A bit noisy when crowded.

Really liked this cafe after an amazing hike definitely recommend. Friendly staff, dog friendly, fast service as wasn't that busy, open 7days a week, the food was spot on and reasonably priced. Free car parking. Don't forget to take home a lovely selection of cakes, I chose the almond bakewell give this 9.5/10.

Lovely vibe, amazing staff working really hard. Had a homemade cheese scone, slice of delicious coffee and walnut cake and a hot chocolate for £10. Really tasty 😊

Had the most amazing breakfast here today. Food was delicious, a really great price, the welcome was warm and so were the locals!! We have to find dog friendly places when holidaying and this fitted the bill. We also took some yummy cakes home with us. Next time we're up this way we will be sure to pop in. 100% recommended ❤️🐾

Under new management! The food is great. We had the beef and the lamb, and both tasted amazing. Prices are a little higher than elsewhere nearby, but it's worth it. Good local beers on, too. Particularly liked the dog parking area 😀 Massive car park at rear also helps!

Absolutely gorgeous food! The flavours and presentation. We all had fantastic food. Slow roast pork belly with crispy skin. Home made Yorkshire pudding. To die for red cabbage. Highly recommended

A perfect spot for a pint, meal or tea and cake after a walk from Bamford. I had the hendos rarebit with trout which was delicious, all the food in our group was great especially the kofta special that my friend had. The view from the outside tables is beautiful and really catches the sun, there were also covered options for shade. Lunch food service ends around 3-4 so time your walk for that.

Anglers Rest (new management) We previously enjoyed many lovely meals at the Golf Club in Bakewell & were sad to hear Claire & Tom were leaving. But great news they’ve taken on the Anglers Rest in Bamford & are doing an amazing job. The food was excellent - fantastic menu - plenty of choices & cooked to perfection as always. We had Grilled Goats Cheese Salad & the Chicken Breast stuffed with Hartington Stilton. We didn’t make it to dessert this time but the rhubarb crumble sounds lovely! Great selection of drinks, love the decor & staff are so welcoming & attentive. Definitely recommend - lovely part of the Peak District - hoping to return soon. They are such hard workers & the food is consistently first-rate. Plenty of parking.
